  1. had a top of 218.6rwhp but had a couple issues that have buggered that up and at 202rwhp at the moment but when a custom tune dne should get my 218 back plus a bit more. So far I am at about $4200 for all of this but that includes a BF Barra 190, I own a BA that did have the Barra 182 in it,but I got quite a few bargains and did almost all the work myself
  2. Yeah mate I agree its the only part I have done that I am not happy with, I am trying to sort omething out for them but it is not easy I could go the regular edge covering but its got to be different so once I figure something it will be changed.
  3. A couple of bits in the engine bay like running the return lines to the radiator reservior so they are kinda hidden. Custom tune fix the diff got a carrier bearing gone so weighing up my options funds no good for 4:1's so have got the option of a 4 pinion series 2-3 au xr8 diff centre which slots straght in and cheaper, I have got a 14.47 on the set up without custom tune so more to come over time
  4. Exhaust, intake, underdrives, thermostat and stuff like taht before flash tune as if flash tune done now you will have to tune it again after each mod, which could be expensive. I did the intake exhaust underdrives and thermostat before having to do a flash tune
  5. Yeah it does feel better, but This was the dyno before the work healthy 218.6hp before nice curve But then stuff got done On this one you can see the dyno done first(red line) I had a healthy 222.4hp with the only bump being where the convertor locked up but still fairly clean curve Then this a week later Just tryin to sort out any prblems before further tuning.
  6. good, I seem to have had a flat spot before and now clean revs, that's the feel anyway
  7. Have done some more research into this and have got the below info. I have changed it back to having the one way valve in and there is a difference to the car. "The photo is a little too close, but it looks like its fitted inline to the vacuum system that supports the fuel pressure regulator, an area where backflow would not be good." Had a good look and the piping runs down to a soliniod and then splitsinto two one back to the ecu,and the second to a reservior tank type thing under the front gaurd, it doesnt actually go inside the car or attached to anything to do with the air con, vents etc.
  8. So would cause problem taking it out ot adjusting it to the performance of the engine in any way
  9. Posted this elswhere and have rung places cant get a definite answer. G'day all, as the heading suggest I am seeking clarification on what this part is and what it does. as you can see mine has been changed, the big blue and black thing goes in where the small blue thing is and the pipe you see it connected to goes to a little black box looking thing then to the ecu area from what I can tell it is a one way air valve, for it to open the air can be sucked thru from the blue part to the black part but not the other way. Hope this makes sense What is it What does it do does it hamper cars performance if changed.
  10. XTC 190 is in performance ford mag as a feature this month October issue, 2 months since install 2 events RDP dyno day 1st place with 218.6hp and all ford day at carrara took out best BA-BF and a feature in Performance Ford cant be happier with results so far
  11. As I said last time I might venture out to the next Dyno day you have providing I can some how find the power I lost, if I can get that back the 218.6hp that is my N/A would be very happy to dance on your dyno I think, maybe if I could find the $$$ I could get the custom tune done and find some more ponies and maybe push the standard turboes for a bit, that would be fun. Looks like a good day and some nice cars their Cheers Jason

  14. Gee buddy just had a look at your home page and results from the last dyno day, my BA xt would have done well in the n/a class, I got 218.6hp or 163rwkw at the first aff dyno day, have done just a part tune but have got a max of 222rhp then did some tuning and gained a lot more hp down low but lost 9 hp up top but still kicks butt. doin the 2nd round of the aff dyno comp see if I get 1st place again there maybe next time
  15. Almost done have pulled a 14.47 with traction probs on a generic tune no custom yet 218.6hp or 163 kw at the rears
  16. More work done set up some bennet lights in the subframe, pics are a bit dark in real life turned out well
  17. The side where the air box is usually is a big air now with a 9 inch pod filter inside, the side where battery usually sits is still the battery just covered it up for presentation. All the covers I made out of aluminium, or sheet metal, airbox has definatley given gains cant quote kw though and covers definatley tidy up the bay
  18. go to autobarn they may be able to mix the paint for you, plastic primer for plastic parts and clear for the final gloss, I painted mine myself made all the covers myself except for the spill tray, come up alright
  19. Thought I would update as some more worh been done. the night pic an earlier photo , I just like it
  20. FINALLY IN. This is what I started with This is what it looked like once out This is it in the car, bit more to do but its getting there Main question is am I happy BLOODY OATH, with the Barra 190, 3200rpm stallie, 3.45LSD, 20% underdrives,GT exhaust(dual exits) no tips fitted yet, new airbox and air intake system, Flash tune(no custom tune yet) plus other bits and pieces, she gets up and boogies and sounds the goods, definatley a 14 second maybe a 13 second car. Car idles and runs nice and fuel usage is actually down on the Barra182. More too come
  21. As the suggest finally the project motor is in, still a few touch things to do but its in, had a couple hiccups along the way but they were easily soughted just hard to determine. This is a quick run down at the moment and more will come later This is what I started with This is what it looked like once out This is it in the car, bit more to do but its getting there Main question is am I happy BLOODY OATH, with the Barra 190, 3200rpm stallie, 3.45LSD, 20% underdrives,GT exhaust(dual exits) no tips fitted yet, new airbox and air intake system, Flash tune(no custom tune yet) plus other bits and pieces, she gets up and boogies and sounds the goods, definatley a 14 second maybe a 13 second car.
