  1. would you consider selling them separate? I just brought a set of ID1000's but looking for an xcal x4
  2. Wasn't today but the weekend fitted the new cooler and intake. ID1000 injectors on there way with a tune of course.
  3. Progress update. Over the weekend I installed a new Nizpro Intercooler which I brought from a great fella on here, took a bit of massaging but finally got it in only just clears the crash bar and what ever the thin cooler is in front of the radiator. as you can see I scratched the coating of a bit which pissed me off but noting a bit of black nail polish didn't fix. Also picked up a second hand but in pretty much new condition KPM Intake for a great price thanks to gumtree. Pretty happy with how it turned out, been a long time since I have worked on cars. Photos below;
  4. Hello, Ok so I purchased a Nizpro Big FMIC kit from a fella from this site last week. The plan is to put it on as well as other mods in the future (I.e xspurt 1000cc injectors, intake muffler delete, herrod CAI, and a Xforce HF Cat and Dump) end goal looking for the 300+rwkw mark and 11s and even maybe e85, max out the stock turbo. However I only have the intercooler so far, waiting to save up for the rest, I 100% plan to get all tuned with a sct x4, once I get injectors/HF Cat etc but further down the track. My question is, will I do any harm if I start putting on the Intercooler and do the intake stuff without a tune?, I understand I will not get any real power increases, but as I don't get much free time, and any free time I would love to jump on the job of putting the IC kit on, say this weekend, the rest at a later date. But is this ok without the tune? will it do any damage? is it safe to do so? I drive the car as my daily. Any help or input would be appreciated. Ben
  5. yeah na, not painting everything just the fog light surrounds for now I personally have always liked the "stealth" look so to speak, so like black on black and low, but I will say the brushed/polished wheels have grown on me.
  6. Plasti-diped the grey fog light surrounds to Carbon Black this stuff is amazing so easy to use. happy with the change didn't really like the grey
  7. So I had a play with the Plasti-Dip style spray on wrap stuff today, I used the DUPLI-COLOUR Carbon Black I believe super cheap sell it. The grey fog light surrounds bothered me because the whole car is black and chrome, and having the grey fog light surrounds irked me a bit. So I only did them so far, really happy with how they came out I am still considering trying the wheels purely as an experiment, I think I am staring to come around to the brushed/polished style of the factory 19s. You guys and gals have changed my mind a bit I amazed how easy this stuff is to apply, also any over spray wipes off in seconds with alcohol. thoughts?
  8. not looking for massive power happy with about 300rwkw, from what I have heard not to much issues with reliability, for engine and gearbox at that power, I will be getting a independent trans cooler at the same time. thank you all for your input has been very valuable I think I will try blacking out the grey fog light surrounds as they annoy me in grey but I think my mind has changed about the wheels.
  9. funny you say that was just having a discussion with my colleague here at work and he is bringing in a can he has of matt black dupli-colour custom wrap paint, essentially the same stuff, and we are going to have a play tomorrow. might start with the fog lights as a can will only do a single wheel.
  10. Hi fellow boosted ford lovers. I have always thought black on black would be the way to go, I have been looking at aftermarket wheels however I don't think its withing my budget at the moment and I want to save for some power mods first as well. I have been considering powder coating or even anodizing the factory 19" rims I have as they are growing on me, would be much cheaper? I have done a quick Photoshop below that give me a bit of an idea how it will look, however I am interested if any others out there have changed the colour of the factory wheels and have some real photos? even better if there on a Black G6ET. whats your opinions? experiences? etc
  11. Added my first modifications over the weekend. DBA T4000 rotors and Project Mu HC+800 pads all round and adjustable front and rear Whiteline sway bars. Both have made a huge difference for the relatively low cost, really happy with how she stops and turns now for a land barge ;). next more power!!!!
  12. with only 250kw wouldn't it just be better to get a xr6 turbo, up the boost a little and not have to worry about the hassle of running NOS on the street? just my opinion which means sh*t all really lol
  13. Just found one of my front tyres was at 22psi I wonder if that could of robbed my of my 12.9 I noticed through the night my MPH was dropping off slightly, I wonder if it was consistently getting lower through the night. would make sens because a low front tyre wouldn't affect 60ft much but could affect the top end? thoughts? Also note the tyres I am running are elcheapo maximus @ $140 per tyre, and were running 38psi all round. I wonder if wit better tyres I would of got a 12.9 also, I didn't notice a massive amount of slip?
  14. another clip vs a ls1 Expensive Daewoo Ute. I just won
  15. Thanks mate, it was a blast. its worth every penny.
  16. Hey Guys, so ran the car at Willowbank on Saturdays race ya mates aka test and tune. was a great night meet some awesome people maybe even someone from on here with the white XR6 Turbo? was super happy with how the car performed. Its 2009 with 145K on the clock. best ET was a 13.04 with a 2.036 60FT @ 106.3MPH. Best MPH of the night was a 107.8. I am certain there was a 12.99 in it just couldn't quite get it there and then it started to heat soak, as at the end of the night the runs were very back to back as most cars left early. Now time for the mods and try to crack the 11s I'm glad the first mods I have brought are brakes as it was pretty sketchy stopping from 175kph and lots of shuddering.
  17. Thank you Camo, that would be great but I'm in Brisbane. Its ok but I fit them myself, no problems just need to be sure I get the correct rotors thank you again for the clarification. Ben
  18. Hi all, I have noticed my brakes are in need of replacing have noticed a shudder every now and then and just general poor performance and some squealing. I have read through the forums, and the DBA T3 4000 series seem to be the way to go keeping some budget in mind, would love to get some brembos but cant really justify to fork out that cash atm. however I am seeing heaps on conflicting info on the fourms, ebay and DBA itself. In regards to the stock breaks being 298mm vs 322mm I wanted to go the BDA T3 DBA42107S which are 322mm. will these fit my car? I believe it has stock calipers. its a 2009 G6E Turbo... I was also thinking the brembo pads as well look like good value. link to Rotors http://brakesdirect.com.au/aus/dba42107s-dba-4000-series-t3-slotted-brake-rotor.html link to pads http://brakesdirect.com.au/aus/p99008-brembo-brake-pads.html any input would be great. Ben
  19. ok thanks guys. I dont know much about the history, I know its got full service history but not any other modifications, seems 100% stock to me. perhaps it has a 82°c thermo and that's why it sits just above 1/4 all the time? I have an OBD2 BT reader thing I will throw it on tonight and check it out good tip on the diff oil, when getting rwc I got my mech to check the diff fluid he said it was still full but didn't say if he thought it needed replacing. he did say there was a bit of seepage around the front seal. but wasn't an issue as it looked old, he will monitor and check again next service 5k away I believe. as for fuel filter that is a good point I will check that out its got 145k on the clock. thanks guys.
  20. Hi guys, So loving my New/old G6E Turbo. Been doing it heaps, forgot how much I missed Boost lol. However I have noticed something weird. My temp gauge never seems to reach half way on the gauge typically just 1/4 to 3/8. I live in QLD I know its a bit cooler at the moment but every car I have ever driven will always get to temp being half way on the gauge? Is this a normal thing? or would it be a faulty gauge? I have heard people mention something about a cold thermostat? is that a thing that would cause this? any help would be geat thanks guys Ben
  21. hahaha I guess the trickery of photography, the paint has alot of stone chips up front and the whole thing has the spiderweb circles in the paint, just needs a good cut and polish, but the body is really straight no dints I can see. that's a good point. I will have to check with local regulations but to be honest it will most likly be less than 500kg or less anyway I think their stage 1 kit is just uses the stock inter cooler, I will likely source my own larger intercooler, am looking at the process west one too but is quite pricy, a lot more that I remember intercoolers being lol.
  22. Thanks Guys personally I like cars that handle currently its a little barge like for me lol, and the sway bars are only $700 and easy to install. what tow kit do you have? I was looking at the factory one and its seems expensive, I have seen tow balls Australia have a good light weight kit, as I dont kneed a heavy duty one as I am only towing a small box trailer with motorbikes. maybe 1000kg max also do I have to make cuts to the bumper? I have a question you guys might know. if I get a 12psi internal waste gate for the turbo is the waste gate porting flapper mod needed as well? their stage one kit includes the process west intake kit and muffler delete, sct x4, and tune I believe, about $3000 including the cooler upgrade which is about $700 fitted alone. But I am going to get a hold of a 4" turbo back exhaust, 1000cc injectors, and valve springs, Turbo smart BOV and 12psi internal waste gate and install some or all of it myself, and get them to tune for it at once.
  23. thank you
  24. Hello all, I just picked up a 2009 G6E Turbo for a great deal. 145k on the clock and is in great condition mechanically, paint needs some TLC and interior is in really good condition. Just put 4 new tyres (cheapos for now) on her and all new super pro diff bushings, needed one tyre and bushing for RWC so got all done while it was there. Apart from that seems stock. I knew the barra motors were a beast but I was really surprised how quick it was. Has been a while since I had a turbo car used to own a 220fwkw GT starlet heavily set up for the track, but that was nearly 6 years ago as I got into motorcycles, so I am looking forward to modifying this new beast as a express daily/motorcycle mover. Current future mods plans in order of purchase unless someone changes my mind. tow ball (need to transport motorcycles hence ute in photo which I will be selling) Whiteline front and rear sway bars Stage 1 upgrade with Real Dyno here in Bris and their Trans cooler upgraded to stop the ZF milkshake Shockworks coilovers (seem to be the best option for the money and Aussie built is nice) maybe some wheels I would like a set of work meisters S1 Just wanted to say Hi and post some pics, looks like a great friendly forum. would love to hear some feedback on the mods or other ideas. Plan on doing some test and tune nights and maybe some happy laps etc. Goal would be 300+rwkw and 11s
