They were chasing the bad guys, someone doing a burnout and driving unsafe. How terrible they went and did there job. Yeah lets see them go lock up all those pot smoking drug dealers because its more serious than someone who runs a red light while drink driving and kllls a bunch of pedestrians crossing the road. Traffic enforcement is just important as criminal. ← spot on mate some people have little to no idea how the police work and operate.. they think that every patrol car is out there to chase drug dealers and murderers. The cops have assigned roles and jobs, in saying that, just because a cop is doing RBT, doesn't mean he can't go and police another matter if its popped up or is causing problems. What do you want the cops to do when they see that type of driving behaviour?? turn the other way with their head in the sand and say... "he doesn't look like a drug dealer or a killer, lets pretend we didn't see that" And out of interest zedman, how do you expect cops to chase up drug dealers?? stop and search every car they see? or every person that "might" look suss?? a lot of investigation has to go into that sort of stuff.. imagine how much time they'd waste stopping and searching everyone who "looked" like a dealer.. a lot more time then pulling some one over for alleged "hoon" driving. Good on headsex for being open, honest and taking the rap like a man. Bad luck anyways mate, unfortunately there's a lot of hoon drivers out there and the cops can't get them all, unlucky for you they were in the area I know that I could have been done a few times no doubt, as I'm sure most on this forum could have too if their luck was up.. we're not angels 100% of the time. ← I understand that they were doing their job, but if the cops wanted to they could have happliy let him off with a stern warning or a fine for excesive noise or something like that. I am sick of the goverment revenue rasing crap that goes on. For example, how much really has bringing in Double Demerit points saved lives. Road deaths are still the same every year or increasing and it does nothing but raise revenue. They only have them on Long weekends or holidays but the cops patrol 50km zones as they know they will catch people out. Who goes on holidays to a 50km zone street in a local suburb anyway. Why not bring in a new law for holidays, don't speed and we will give you one point back on your license. No one would speed then. These laws are band aid fixes, much like the hoon laws. Would they pull over a 90 old guy who was (accidentally) doing a burnout in his Late model camira in the wet, no, they would not. If I was a cop it would depend on the attitude of the person that I pulled over. If they were nice and honest about what the had done wrong, then he would have a better chance of being let off than some Dick that was being a smart asre about it. My point is, I am sure that the time they spent waiting around being nice to someone that did a burnout could have been better spent chasing a real criminal. I will never forget the Police sign that I saw at Kingscross once, it read. POLICE TARGETING - SEATBELTS. I am dame sure there was more improtant things to target in Kingscross. Disclaimer - I am not bitter about being fined or anything like that, haven't had a speeding fine in 10 years and have been in Turbo's the whole time. Just sick of the fact that our taxes pay for this and with the amount of tax I pay I feel I should be able to have my say as to WHAT THE HELL THEY ARE DOING!!! Zedman.

Hi All Got in my car tonight and the stereo is playing up. I have the Premium system and the head units seems to still be working and I can hear the sub, but I have lost all the other speakers. haven't done anything to it since I fitted the new 5 x 7s about 3 weeks ago and it has now just stopped. I was thinking it might be a fuse or some thing but I really have no idea and could do with some help. Thanks in advance. Anthony

Dont get them started mate. A lot of people around here aren't in to "trannying" up the XR's Personally will be going the BF Typhoon kit on mine. Will look There are a few good one around and a few not so good ones. With glass you usually get what you pay for so make sure you look around. Make sure its no Chinese (love their food, not their fibre glass work)and make sure that they are a well known company with good reports of their work Zedman

I am in Sydney South, thinking about C&V, I have delt with Con before and youi guys say here that you have used him with great results. From what I read on the forum last night I think your spot on. Its weird, all my other cars I've owned you just wack on an exhaust and feel the power in a positive way. These ECU's on this machine are very strange. Zedman

Hi All I have a BA T Auto. I put in a K&N Filter, went great, no problems. Removed the centre muffler and sounded great and ran a bees dick better, so, I bought a APS rear muffler section, which I bolted on today. Left my mates work shop and it was missing under load and was taking ages to find a gear on gear down. SO WHAT THE HECK HAPPENED. I am guessing the computer is freaking out and I will need to do something to fix it. I am putting on a SS CAI and was going to change the plug (was told I need to when running the capa) and I will be doing a capa flash tune. So has anyone had this problem and do they know whats happening and what the best remedy is. Also, with the capa, should I do a dyno tune and how much am I looking at for that if I already have the capa. Thanks guys Ant

I am keen but want to know something first. I went to get a cat done the other day and the guy said it goes from 1 into 2, so he couldn't fit one. How do you get around this problem? Is the Magic cat 1 into 2 or is there something simple that I am missing.

No, not at all. If people want to be so precious about their FPV's that's fine. I have spent years in the rex club and nobody gave a rats clacker about people doing up their rex like a STI. Quite the contrary, they were happy that people tried to be doing up their cars like an STI, never effected anyones values and no one was anywhere near as anal as your all being. If it I was trying to do up my C180 like an AMG Mercedes then manybe I could understand all the fuss, but seriously guys. BTW, Have got a chassis number of a not so precious owner and will be getting some badges next week. Thanks anyway Zedman

They are. I have been in the NSW WRX Club since it started in 1997 and the XR6 Turbo is now converting a`lot of WREX owners to them. They are great value for money and I never thought I would be buying a Ford and now, well I have and couldnt be happier. I might even buy an F6 one day and then I would be a real convert. Just not on my bugeting plan right now, but maybe one day. But for now a Tranny it is and it will look great and I will be happy with it Each to their own. Zedman

I am not paying anything for the kit. My car is purely an example to people that want to Tranny up their cars that they CAN make it look like the real thing if they want to spend the money. I am not in any way saying that I would think that trannying up a T or XT makes it the real thing, but there are MANY people out there who want to do that to their cars. We also have many REAL GT and Phoon owners buying our parts as Ford want to sting them so much for replacing a bumber that is not worth going through insurance and paying the excess and also loosing your no claim bonus. The fact is, you might not like TRANNY's or people that make the parts to put on these cars but the fact is, you might need us one day to get you out of a jam. OR, feel free to pay Mr Ford for his original & VERY expensive part. Ours are a direct copy and you can't tell the difference once on the car. Zedman

For a start I am in the business of making body kits for these cars and my business is selling to people all over the country that are more than happy to "Tranny" up their cars. I need to show people what can be done with our product and what better way to do it than to dress up a T exactly like a Typhoon. I actually feel sorry for you Typhoon owners who basically own $60,000 taxis that WILL depreciate a lot more than our T's will and if I can show some one out there the before and after then they will be happy to dress up their car to look like the $60,000 version. I have spent my last 10 years in STI's and a 350Z so I know all about depreciation. that's why I have settled for a taxi for the time being and want to show people how they can make their basic Falcons look even hotter. We get PLENTY of people wanting to buy our body parts who have had a prang and have gone to buy an XR bar for $800 and the thought why would I do that when I can buy a GT or Typhoon bar for $600. I am sure someone out there is willing to help me out and I just hope I might find that person on this "friendly" forum. This is a daily driver used for business. My real car is a Datsun 240Z that has a GTR engine with 500hp and weighs 900KG. Hello 10 sec 1/4. Hope some one can help.

I will post the pics as I go. I can get an FPV kit that will look exactly like the real thing. I will show the pics when done. BTW. Spoke to my good friends at Eastcoast Suspensions at Kirrwee and Dave was saying that there is no real need to lower the car as the roll centre is perfect as it is. He has worked on a lot of them and is developing a new set of spring that will lower the rear a bit but mainly improve the rate as he believes there are no springs on the market with a high enough spring rate. Just bought some FPV gauges of ebay for $310. Has pod and gauges. How hard are these to fit to the XRT and is there anything tricky I will need to know. Thanks in advance Zedman

Thanks For the great words guys I just picked it up today, goes great. I bought it privately from a guy that was fairly motivated to sell. Its in supprisingly good nick for the Km's too. Just came out of an MY05 STI so its a bit different. I have already got some plans. I have already bought some FPV 19" spoke wheelsand will be putting a Typhoon body kit on it. I will remove the centre muffler and put on a Magic cat and fit a bigger front sway bar as it feels a little loose. I think I might even fit some new springs and shock too. Upgrade steg and fit K&N filter. I will probably be selling my 18" wheels too if anyone is keen, they have great tyres (90%) and are in ok condition. Let me know if anyone is keen and keep the tips coming. Sooley
