Had a bit of time during the day today so I put in my Nokia Bluetooth hands free car kit and am also working on another small project I call the uni power box. The idea for this thing is to able to charge multiple devices at the same time including USB devices. But first the Kit, below is where I stuffed the remote control Nice and easy, just had to remove the small panel below it to hide the wire away which goes into the fuse box and over to the main phone box. I stuck the mic in between the internal reading light switches and the sunroof switches because I though it looks at home there and is less noticeable then if I would have stuck it just above the a pillar. I needed to remove and disconnect the reading light switches to feed the wire inside the roof then across and down the a pillar, through the fuse box and over to the phone box. The phone box is wedge in under there where it won’t move, I also installed the cradle cable to charge the phone when needed, also I may put install a cradle some time down the track so I thought why not. The uni power box will be installed where the tissue box holder is once finished, the purpose of this box is to charge a few things at the same time, as you can see I have an IPod and a PDA to power and also a Bluetooth GPS receiver hiding behind the rear view mirror, and lets not forget the wife’s phone while I’m driving her to work, oh and my NDS. At the moment I’ve only had time to throw in a 12volt cig lighter thingo and wire it up but there will be another one of those as well as 2 or 3 USB ports for the IPod and PDA, I will of course need to convert the power down to 6vols I think USB is and I’ll probably put a LED in there as well.
