  1. I ordered it on Sat 22nd. Car was already allocated to dealer though so I'm hoping the wait won't be too long. Yeah, right, as if. That'd be right, now all the posts come out about good pricing. Sounds like he did pretty well, about $7,500 off RRP. I asked for $5K and got it so I'm happy regardless.
  2. Its the most fun you can have with your pants on ← On that subject, my g/friend has threatened to remove all fun, both with and without pants, if I am not able to get her on the FPV drive day as well. So, does anyone know if this is doable and if so how much does it cost? Cheers Rick
  3. let me know if you want the tinters details cheers Ross ← Hi Ross, Thanks, the tinters details would be good. Wouldn't mind seeing some pics of the finished result too if you or any of the guys that have had it done have any? General consensus seems to be don't bother with commercial paint protection, is there ANYONE that has used it and finds it worthwhile? Currently I'm leaning towards just picking up a bunch of products from the following link: http://www.concoursecarcare.com.au/index.htm This is the first car I've owned from new and I want to make sure I get it right from the start. Cheers Rick
  4. Hi all, Not sure if this is the right spot for this but here goes. I'm starting to think of paint & fabric protection for the new beast and was just wondering what peeps are using and where they're getting it from, what price to expect etc? Same deal for window tint if anyone can recommend someone they were happy with? (in Perth) Didn't really fancy getting bent over by the dealership with their ludicrous prices for protection packs so after somewhere that specialises in this kind of stuff. On that note has anyone used the products from the below link and have any opinions as to whether good, bad etc? http://www.paintprotection.com.au/ Thanks all.
  5. No, defintiely not. Don't mention the 18" rim shortages either.......
  6. LOL, thanks for the sentiment, something tells me these 3 weeks are going to seem a lot like 3 years. And we all know how "3 weeks" in car dealer speak means somewhere between the next 3 weeks and next year. And I thought waiting for Xmas as a kid was tough....... Cheers Rick
  7. Hi all, Just became the very proud owner of a new Typhoon...... auto, EGO, fpv wheel, mats, leather, rv park sensors, driveaway about 66.5K *Hoping* to pick up sometime in the next 3 weeks. Thanks for the advice everyone, reading about lots of happy owners helped my confidence in buying one. That, and driving one. Cheers Rick
  8. Thanks SavageD, I'm not sure I'm that good a liar, I mean I might be able to pull off saying I'm waiting for an EVO, but a Commodore, I mean come on!! I went in to a delaer on Leach H'way the other day and also got the "we don't discount on FPV" story, combined with some crap about how I don't want to add any options as it damages resale value!?! WTF? (translation: buy the stock one I have in the yard here). Suffice to say by the time I was walking out of the yard both him and his boss were chasing me across the carpark throwing suitcases of money at me, but well and truly too late. On the sensors I agree, I would prefer the factory to do it but I know of a car coming in with everything I want other than the sensors so was hoping to just get them fitted rather than wait to order another with them. On that, does anyone know what the wait is if it isn't in stock, I'd expect around 2 months, is that accurate? Cheers Rick
  9. Hi guys, Thanks very much for all the info, I know this stuff is really personal preference but find it helps to get others opinions. I think I've finally decided on what I'm after: 2006 Auto BF F6 in EGO 18" rims (I like the 19's on light colours like bionic, rapid etc but think the 18's look better on dark colours) FPV Floor Mats Leather Seats Sunroof Reverse Park Sensors (might have to let the g/friend drive sometimes) Does anyone know if these sensors can be fitted after the car is delivered or if must be done at factory? Now just gotta wait for settlement on a property so I have some money and then it's lets go shopping time! Still keen to hear peoples experience on pricing discounts/price they paid, I know there's lots of room to move but would like to gain a better idea of just how much. The best deals are always obtained when they have to really sell you on it, puts you at bit of a disadvantage bargaining when you'd sell your first born to obtain one. Thanks again!
  10. Hi all, I'm a few weeks away from buying a BF F6 in Ego and was hoping you guys could help me out with a couple of queries on options for seat and steering wheel? Seats: I've seen the cloth seats, looks very nice for standard seats. Haven't seen the leather though, what are peoples thoughts? Do they look better, are they worth the extra, or neither? And optional steering wheel, same questions really, is it better to drive with than the standard? And from what I'm seeing on this site as far as bargaining on new prices goes around $5K off RRP seems to be fairly achievable, is that pretty much peoples experiences? (I'm in Perth if that makes a difference) Thanks for the help everyone.
