  1. I'd like to see what people's motivation is for being a member of the forum. I think it will help the owner rationalise the strategic direction of the site in the coming months. It would be an absolute shame to see the forum go the way of the dodo bird, as I'm sure we can all agree there is an unprecedented wealth of information inside its walls.
  2. I'd love to see the GA stats on utilisation of the site. I'd bet my spare desk they're heading south... and I like that desk (mostly).
  3. How's that extra chromosome working out for you? Anyway - completely unrelated to this thread so I'm happy to fling poo at the resident downie in another one.
  4. I'm pretty sure you still control your attitude.
  5. But seriously; this ^^^ I'm not crying into my muesli (mainly because I've sh*t bigger than most of the "tough guys" on the forums and being a keyboard warrior hasn't interested me since my 20's), but the attitude that is thrown around, for seemingly innocuous things, is just outstanding. This forum is lucky to still be running - most other automotive forums have died a painful death; but without fostering the community through support, and good quality knowledge, it won't last. Start by, I don't know, sorting out the security issues where users are logged in as other users by mistake. And for old mate Keith, who just did the typical "I'm a programmer" thing (yeah, we know about it, you posted in the wrong area you n00b) when I found myself logged in as Skids... just drop it. Your ignorance is only outdone by your arrogance. Class act. Get the problem fixed or find someone who knows what they're doing (I'm guessing it's a jwt issue compounded by some caching mechanism on the server-side, but what would I know?) Ban me, don't ban me... delete my post. Do what you want, really. I'm a huge fan of sharing knowledge, providing encouragement, and witty banter (which means a tonne of sarcasm and plenty of tongue-in-cheek insults). However, it seems that the general mood of the forum is just plain nasty. Realise you're not competing with each other; and we're all here to actually help one another. For instance - the last SubyClub cruise I went on had 400+ cars in attendance. Every single person went there with a smile on their face and hope in their hearts. We all laughed and helped each other out. I've attended plenty of multi-day events with the same crew; cars broke down - everybody banded together to literally change motors, diffs, driveshafts and gearboxes that evening in the hotel carpark so the same cars could do the next drive event. Truly miraculous. With the general attitude of most members here, I wouldn't trust you to inflate my tyres to the correct pressure. So, I'm new - to this forum. I'm not new to life. Take my opinion with a grain of salt. But as somebody who's coming in with fresh eyes; this is what I'm seeing.
  6. Because I chopped an Evo? You're right. I apologise.
  7. You're welcome. As the site developer, I'm certain we're in very capable hands. Cheers
  8. So I made a post in the most general topic I could find... just to confirm that I was actually logged in as that person, and it wasn't simply a caching issue with static assets (perhaps caused by a CDN problem). But, you know, whatevs.
  9. Sarcasm? Forgive me if I'm misunderstanding your angle (given the ellipsis).
  10. I was briefly logged in at skidxr6t - logged out and logged back in. If any admins would like me to help with debugging the issue, I'd be more than happy to dig through the code. I'm a software engineer, specialising in PHP.
  11. Quick test message to see if there's a MASSIVE security hole in the forum.
  12. Kia have simply adopted the Pininfarina school of thought "don't design based on what people like, design based on what they're going to like". Sure, their designers appear to have been licking the back of Cane Toads and participating in circle jerk parties, but you can't blame them for having a shot. Look at how hideous some supercars from the 80's were... they weren't even attractive back then. I'm immensely hateful of the people who are "meh, it's sh*t... Kia's crap... Fords rule... 'nuff said". Although it must be pleasant to live your life without drowning in the shallow end of the gene pool.
  13. According to http://www.caradvice.com.au/492846/2018-holden-commodore-review-new-opel-insignia-driven/ - the "new Commodore" will be powered by an NA V6. My belief is the Stinger will be an awesome bit of gear. Kia's production standards have improved markedly, and with their current warranty scheme and general competitive pricing, it'll be difficult to go past them as a family barge with some gusto. http://www.caradvice.com.au/540580/kia-stinger-to-get-bmw-style-dynamic-suspension-tweaks-for-australia/ I'd love to see Hyundai put some fire in the belly of the Genesis. Having driven a few, I can attest to them being an awesome car... just uninspiring when the loud pedal is mashed.
  14. Amazingly simple car to drive. Massive fan. I've been a Subaru guy for many years - this was just a "I need some space for the kids, something I can tow with... and something with a bit of power". I'm impressed that people are getting into high 10's with relatively minor modifications. Just outstanding. Yes, happy to have the "cop chip" comments. I've booked in for some dyno pulls this time next week. Essentially just baselining everything about the car so I can make informed and measured decisions regarding enhancements in the future.
