I have done some reading and see mixed results. I think I'll just get a tune package as most of them have a new thermostat thrown in too. Easy right...?

I got 150kms from half a tank, only put the boot in a handful of times. Although I guess I'm used to 2.0L turbo engines which run on oily rags. I am enjoying it immensely though. 170k kms. Barely run in? I've just been reading tuned cars go for a cooler thermostat, why is this? Am I better off leaving this in there since I'll be later getting some work done anyway? I haven't planned on it, but we've all heard this story before...

Hey guys Couple of questions: 1. Water temp, seems to always be sitting around 1/4 on the temp gauge (to the left). Should I just swap out for a new thermostat, or should I try burping the system? If burping, how is it done on the FG XR6T? If changing thermostat, what is the procedure? Just undo the top hose and thermostat housing, change over and top up coolant? Can I also assume this is related to my sh*tty fuel economy? 2. Outside air temp seems to be always way cooler than what it is? It seems like the temp sensor in the passenger side mirror needs to be replaced. On my 08 FG mkI can I just change the temp sensor, or does the whole mirror housing have to be changed? Thanks Martin

Thanks Nothing special. It's a darker blue colour. Will get my plates put on eventually which are ML24WA. Living around Mosman Park at present. Sedate catch ups are good. I was involved in some euro cars previously and it was usually cars and coffee or a drive to a dinner/lunch destination.

Hi Guys New member here. Just got into an 08 FG XR6T with the ZF gearbox. No mods planned yet just want to drive and enjoy it for a bit. Ive already done some reading around, I know turboknapp from years ago. Maybe see see some of you on the road. Cheers Martin
