  1. Alright fellas, used the flash tuner to scan the error code: "P1132 Lack of ho2s1 SWT RICH" From my brief searches it seems like it could be either a faulty o2 sensor as I initially thought, or it could be a dirty MAF sensor, or a leak in intake/IC piping causing an irregular fuel mixture and the car is running rich. Can anyone confirm if I'm on the right track here? I cleaned out my air filter a few weeks ago, and I'm starting to think that I might not have secured the airbox to intake piping well enough, and it has come slightly loose causing a leak. I will have to do some inspecting this weekend. I have cleared the code for now, but I am expecting it to come back soon enough. Let me know what you guys think.
  2. Fair point Andrew. I'm gonna have to check after work tomorrow before I consider ordering parts. Haha every post of Steve's I've read have involved skids in one way or the other You are 100% right mate. I'm gonna sort it asap. Better to order the part myself and have it installed at an exhaust place Im guessing?
  3. In all honesty, I'm not sure mate. They must have put the original sensor back on when changing the CAT because as far as I know, this is the first time the warning light has come on, and the exhaust was installed in 2009. I couldnt imagine that the cartridge would be dirty either as the km's are still pretty low. I'm guessing something caused the sensor to go. Yes, the car has been tuned - 340rwkw with all the bolt-on's. I have the Xcal tuner, could maybe clear the code with it, but it would probably just come straight back if the sensor is faulty. Hahaha mate, if those P Zero's werent $350 a pop I'd be shredding them to bits!
  4. Hey guys, thought its about time to start another topic here. Those that have read some of my previous threads would know the car in question, for those that don't - '06 BF2 Typhoon, 76k on the clock. On the way home from work yesterday afternoon my emissions light came on. I used to own a little Barina many years ago that ended up having a faulty 02 sensor which displayed the same emissions light, and I drove it around like that for a long time before getting the issue fixed. What I want to know is, is it safe to drive around? I didnt care if I did damage while driving the Barina, but obviously I care for the Phoon and wouldnt want to drive it if I could potentially cause issues. Should I stop by my local exhaust shop and get the sensor checked? The exhaust is a custom 4" turbo back, and I've never had this light come on before.
  5. Elite Automotive in Archerfield. My BF F6 got the full treatment in '09 by these guys, and the car still runs great today. You could also try chip Torque in Nerang, I've heard they're good, but I've only ever used there dyno, so cant vouch for tuning ability.
  6. Qld, Gold Coast. Haha looks like something outta Mad Max.
  7. Thanks, masda. Will definitely check in more often this year! Will check the thread out for sure mate.
  8. After 4 months of owning the car everything has loosened up a bit and the gearbox has adjusted to the way I shift. The car was only driven 3k kms in like 3 years, so I guess it just needed some daily driving to get her to loosen up. Somewhat like a woman huh
  9. @masda74 Hey mate, yes all is fine now, car drives great and haven't had further issues. On a different note, I had someone rear end me about 3 weeks ago, but damage is very minor, although repairs are going to cost $1800. Luckily insurance has that covered, although I nearly had a heart attack before seeing the damage was minor. Was very surprised actually, old mate hit me rather hard while I was stopped dead in Monday morning 9am traffic. Thought the damage would be way worse, but when I got into gear and moved forward only the paint was scratched, and the rear bumper insert needs replacement - apparently those cost $950 lol.
  10. I must admit that the pipes do tend to get very hot, and I've been wondering what the effects of that may be. I'm gonna look into a turbo side intake and weigh my options up. Thanks guys!
  11. @Box Will definitely look into it, thanks mate. Car has all the bolt-ons including larger Nizpro intercooler, so its definitely an option.
  12. It does already flutter, but I can hear its very muted which is why I can only hear it when boost pressure is fairly high. Reckon I'm gonna avoid the turbo side intake. Might customise my own intake with a pod filter and something to block out the hot air, and see how it goes. If its crap I'll just fit the 270 box back on. I will measure the piping this weekend too, it might very well be 2.5 inch for all I know. Thanks for the advice fellas, will update when I've had a play around with it.
  13. Thanks for the response Puff I haven't measured the piping yet, but I think just by looking at it, it will be roughly 3-3.5 inch from the intercooler, as well as from the turbo. At the end of the day, this car has had a lot of $ spent on it and I dont think I'll be changing too much, but as I said I do want a little more turbo chatter from it. What would be the best way to achieve this? @Box Lol! its all about the girth mate. You can throw a sausage down a hallway, but if it doesnt touch the sides then its not good for anything, no matter how long it is!
  14. Thanks for the explanation Box Stock. I Thought the thicker pipe work would have allowed for higher airflow negating the elongated piping, or at least to a certain extent. I can definitely see the benefits of having it way shorter though.
