Well to answer my own question. It was solved by using the little blanking plug from FG models that dont have side airbags. Long story short I went to the wreckers to look for some parts and saw a FG sedan that had the plugs in place and grabbed 2.

Hi all Not sure if this has been covered by a previous post but I am trying to work out a problem with my ute. I bought my 09 FG turbo ute last year and it had F6 seats installed by the previous owner. The problem lies in that the seats have side airbags. The harness from the seats was plugged into the body loom but not being a vehicle that came with side airbags the confuser has detected something wrong and sets a code each time I turn the key after 30 seconds. My cheap elm reader and torque app says the DTC is related to side airbags. So is there a resistor or something that can be plugged into the plug to keep the computer happy?. I am wondering what was plugged into the plug originally like a resistor plug as the original seats dont have the wiring to plug into this plug. And I assume that the loom going to them is the original loom with the pre tensioner and seat power etc but with the extra plug there for the seat airbag. Maybe someone with the same ute can check next to thier seat and see what is plugged in there. TIA

Fitting reverse Camera to MK2 ICC installed in MK1 FG ute

Ideally a genuine camera would be best but people have had success with the cheap generic ones also. Original camera is 6 volts and most generic ones are 12 volts. -

Thanks demon. Wasn't quite sure whether to make them as a bulk download or as individual documents that can just get what you want. But it is misery to get them all doing it one by one.

Hey While searching for some wiring info found out a way to get FG (and other Ford models) . Below is a link to the ones I got https://www.mediafire.com/folder/jhmld4g1rj1oj/FG_worshop_manual_pdfs Let me if the links not working. Should be able download what you need. Mod edit: zip of the complete set. https://drive.google.com/file/d/1deNtovPrX3qMtMD66LYNyK_Hmm6B_79b/view?usp=drivesdk

Fitting reverse Camera to MK2 ICC installed in MK1 FG ute

Thanks for reply I think I will have to get this loom to connect in as I think it must go into the 12 pin plug . http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Ford-Falcon-fg-mk2-icc-to-mk1-loom-With-reversing-camera-input/282328819868?_trksid=p2047675.c100011.m1850&_trkparms=aid%3D222007%26algo%3DSIC.MBE%26ao%3D1%26asc%3D39923%26meid%3Decc6057bf1994f7e95c69c9ebfad6d34%26pid%3D100011%26rk%3D1%26rkt%3D1%26sd%3D282270734636 This one has the MK1 to MK2 patch loom and the camera input plug. All I need to connect the generic or any cam is the cam feed pin and shield pin. I will just get power from the reverse light as the generic cams are 12 volt. In theory this should work as I have seen it done on the mk1s. Once I get the new one connected I will see if anyone wants the original patch cable I have. Its the critical bit for connecting the mk2 icc to a mk1. -
Hi Not sure if this has been covered elsewhere but I bought a 09 FG mk1 T ute recently that had a mk2 ICC installed in it. It has the reverse camera activated as screen goes blank "check your surroundings" comes up where reverse is engaged. I was hoping to fit a cheap generic reverse camera up to it but am unsure how to connect to the ICC. I wouldn't have any wiring for a reverse cam as its a low spec originally. Also it has the patch loom to convert from original 2 plug icc setup to the mk2 single larger plug. I was wondering whether anyone else has done this and if so how they connected up. Does the mk2 reverse cam stock connect through this large plug into the ICC?. For the camera setup I want I was going to get power from reverse light and just the camera feed to ICC. does anyone have the pin out diagram for the mk2 ICC?

Well I ended up putting the stock intake back on and moving the battery etc. Seems to run ok no real difference in power that I can notice. Was probably sucking hot air from the engine bay before anyways. Will run it like this for awhile and see how it goes.
-
Yeah unsure if its tuned as previous owner reckoned he didnt. I might just put the stock intake back and battery in the right place as its all a little dodgy and see how she goes. Other interior mods were a F6 interior (seats ,door cards, console) with mk2 ICC. The ICC works ok for the bluetooth etc but have to set the dimming bright to see it through the day. If I have any probs with any of the mods luckily I have all the original parts. Here is the second hand stuff I was looking at. http://www.gumtree.com.au/s-ad/kinglake-west/brakes-suspension/ford-falcon/1128404270 Or find something aftermarket and just do the front springs and struts and do the rear shocks only and leave my leafs.
-
Just front shocks are worn bounces round a bit. The previous owner had deleted the intake muffler and relocated the battery. Has pod filter straight off the turbo and blocked off the blow off valve. So makes heaps of noise. Also unsure if this is stock but off the turbo has a 3 inch pipe back to one muffler and the rest is just straight pipe. And certainly will turn the tyres to smoke instantly, you know just to test the LSD haha. But needs a centre bearing so got a quote from Hardy spicer for a uprated one that's 330 if I bring the driveshaft to them to change over the bearing,280 if I just buy it. Hoping to get the bigger injectors,xcal4 and tune for around 1500 in the future.

Yeah in that photo it is on the curb so may be pushing it down a little.front springs look standard .when I first bought it had 50mm lowering blocks on the rear leafs. The front shocks are shagged so will need replacing and on gumtree I came across a full FGX xr6 standard suspension for $400. Was thinking for the money could do almost new standard setup. Which is about the price of new aftermarket struts and springs for the front alone. Only sticking point is getting them shipped Melb to Syd.
-
Here is where she sits now with no tools in. With tools approx 150 to 200kg the backs level with the front. Is this standard height as it seems low.
-
Hey Im looking at some almost brand new FGX struts and leafs to put on my 09 FG T. Just wondering if people know if they fit?. Im more than happy to go back to standard height front and rear as mine is really low and front struts are worn out. And as I use it for work I need the back especially at standard height.
