  1. fyi guys "CHANNEL 9's National Driving Test broke a few of its own rules. Victoria Police say up to four and possibly more of the questions were wrong. Senior-Sergeant Greg Deimos, of the traffic support division, said some of the 55 multiple-choice questions devised by leading traffic expert David Axup were incorrect. "
  2. I didnt do it all but found some of the questions to be ambiguous and some answers, the way they were displayed, completely wrong. suffice to say that the theory makes up about 10% of a drivers ability. another 2hr long ad for some company. I can tell u, from experience, that some of the so-called high scorers in the test are the worst drivers we see on the roads. another money maker for 9 with their sms and 1900 rorts. I would rather see a driver who, although doesnt know all the rules (postboxes ????) has a pile of common sense
  3. I dont wanna get into this, because clearly u have no idea how Police operate in the ACT. Suffice to say there are none sitting behind bushes waiting to ping people, because they are too busy working....even the traffic branch ! There arent many prangs that occur at 0 Km/h so your speed and accident argument is a little ludicrous. Then again you probably have never gone to an accident when someone's hit something at 160km/h. Accidents have many causes, speeding drivers is one of them. Again I offer this very simple equation. If you dont wanna contribute to the revenue, dont speed. U must be very bored if u had to count the 'incidents' u saw. People generally dont commit offences when they see a marked car. As for monthly bonus, grow up, it doesnt happen. I further gather that, of all these heinous offences that you spotted, you never bothered once approaching the Police and complaining of it...didn't think so If I wanted to spend my time sledging other people's jobs I would, but when people with absolutely no idea and, in all likelihood, have never seen an angry man in their life, start sledging mine then I take a great deal of offence. Again someone drags a decent topic way off point and turns it into a sledge fest against the coppers. Some of u guys do nothing but perpetuate the myth of revheads and hoons.
  4. Bending ? Radar detectors are illegal, someone uses one....that is breaking the law my friend, no bending involved. The greater majority of people that I have encountered that use radar detectors drive at a million miles an hour, slow down when they detect the radar, and then up to to a million miles an hour once again after they're past it. As for cash cows blah, blah, blah. Very easy way to not get booked, dont speed !! When people stop treating the streets like their own 'boy racer' playground then the road toll may drop. Yeah, yeah, in some states the road toll might have gone down..try explaining that to the person whose family member has just died. Some of us are sick and tired of reading garbage about how fast this, how big that and associated other illegal crap. Does nothing to paint drivers of T's in a good light. Some of us prefer just sticking with the law, and copping the rare ticket on the chin when we get it. Some people just need to grow up a bit and show some sort of responsibility behind the wheel of a very powerful car. Keep displaying the attitude that I see here a lot and they're nothing better than the hotted up Hyundai drivers that they are so keen to bag
  5. Check out Section 225 of the Australian Road Rules my friend. That is the uniform road law for all of Oz. ALL radar detectors are banned in vehicles, whether they are on or off, or working or not.
  6. Two weeks ago I got told 28 August as arranged through LeasePlan. My dealer told me they had over-estimated the time so they wouldnt have to keep changing it. So lets hope Aug 28 at the latest
  7. 'Gestapo' !!! What a childish thing to say. Dare say we wont see you any time in a hurry pulling bodies out of car wrecks, sorting out domestics, or spending their nights wide awake while u sleep. There are coppers here who own T's and manage to drive them around and enjoy them without such a juvenile attitude. Keep your radar detector, cos just around the corner there are ones coming that u wont be able to detect
  8. I dont think dickhead is a strong enough word. Childish, immature and an embarassment to Ford and the racing community
  9. So u assume that because u didnt see any Police cars there were none on the road ?? I can guarantee you that on the sections of road you talk about you probably drove past about 50 of them and you wouldnt have realised. Two words......unmarked car
  10. Top Gear is a very well known English TV show and they also do things in UK motor mags. They do all sorts of comparisons on plenty of cars that arent available in the UK
  11. When they told me my delivery time I thought, well what if a new model/series comes out in the meantime, as I had no idea. I was told the BA model would be around until 2007, and there wouldnt be a Series 2 BA until maybe late next year. So I guess the only issue now is staring at the walls and looking longingly at Ford ads for the next few months. But the beauty of the 3 year lease it that I'll be able to sell my current one in 3 years and snap up the new model or series, so leasing does have its advantages (apart from delivery times Mr. Ford, if your listening!!)
  12. I rang the dealer back today pretending to be a cash sale and wanting to know if I could get a T ASAP as I had cash to burn. Guess what ? They gave me about the same delivery date. They told me they have an allocation of 4 a month and at the moment they are selling 10. I think that has clarified it all up for me. It seems as though they weren't giving me the run around after all
  13. I suppose mentioning the dealer doesnt hurt. John McGRATH in Belconnen, ACT. Funny though, I anonymously rang John McGRATH in Woden and they said mid-July for delivery. I am going to try and ring Ford tomorrow and get their estimation. I know the dealers only get certain allocations. My lease company only looked for competitive quotes in cost, not time unfortunately. I may well tell my lease company to look elsewhere for the same price with shorter delivery. This is absolute bulls***t. Its 2003. I guarantee Ford could make the car in less than a week. Maybe someone should expose the crap that leasers go through....it just might be me. Not happy Jan
  14. They think they are so fantastiv with all their little mods and tweaks, yet they are scared of a car that goes that quick stock standard !! Silly little twats. Look at the re-sale value of their cars in 3 years. WRX's are a dime a dozen. They may go quick but their average pilot couldnt drive a greasy stick up their bum
  15. Got told the delivery date for my baby today. August 28!!! I know some people have had to wait a length of time, but this is nearly 4 months, and quite unreasonable in this day and age. I can guarantee the dealer has pushed me to the back of the pile, as it is a lease vehicle. I also think Ford is trying to choke the market and ensure demand well and truly outstrips supply......Very annoyed but hey, what can I do? I think I will need to call some people
  16. So let me get this straight. They supplied you free-of-charge with window tinting that's darker than legal. Hate to rain on your parade mate but what they have done is provided you with an unroadworthy car. This could provide you with probs if you prang it and the insurance co inspects it, or (even though the dealer supplied it) give Ford grounds to void your warranty if they really pushed it. I had a friend who bought a car from a dealer with 'too dark' tinting. Once he failed the rego transfer he took it back to the dealer and demanded it be fixed....they fixed it
  17. Why did my post get deleted ?? This is an XR6T forum and we want to hear about XR6Ts, not what someones Silvia does. If I cared about that I would go to a Silvia forum
  18. My order will hopefully be going in on Friday. Anything under 3 months will be a bonus. Gungahlin, ACT, home of the XR6T will be the proud owner of a new Blueprint XR6T with premium sound.

    Performance

You know what really gets their hackles up. When the lights change you just potter away at normal road speed. Dont even be enticed by their kiddy racer ways. I know its faster, you know its faster, THEY know its faster. Just drive off and keep your points

    Mp3 ?

Couldnt find it in the forum. Does the premium audio pack (6 stacker) allow you to play mp3s ??
  21. When the original specs came out on the net both the XR8 and the XR6T is said they were both 250kW. Funny how it now quotes the XR6T at 240 and the XR8 at 260. I think they are a lot closer than people think and the XR6T is more powerful but if they let that be known they wouldnt sell any XR8s. If the XR6T was capable of 300-350kW I think the Federal Office of Road Safety may well have something to say about it. That and the engine would probably blow up !
  22. B) Relax my friend. Was getting Acid Rush but saw a blueprint XR6 Ute on the way home and I think I've changed my mind again. So it'll be Acid Rush OR Blueprint. Once I get back the lease quote it will be order the car time
  23. :D Gungahlin is about to see a new XR6T on its streets. I am just about to complete the deal to get the thing in my hot little hands. Hopefully the delivery time won't be too excessive (everything is crossed)
