  1. It is definitely not bushes, those were changed about 6 months ago and are still in new condition. What else could it be? BTW, I have a new tail shaft with centre bearing and new engine mounts.
  2. Hello all, So after owning my 07 Manual XR6 Turbo for a little while now, the diff is farked and has a good amount of backlash in it. I want to get it changed sooner rather than later to avoid any excessive strain on the driveline. It is a 3.73:1 LSD at the moment but that ratio has been so hard to find for a reasonable $$$... I have seen a lot of 3.23:1 LSD's around but I am worried that it would ruin the acceleration of the car... Mind you I have been wanting to add some HP anyway but I just don't know if it's worth the saving for a measurable loss in acceleration etc.. Also I'm unsure if the diffs are different in terms of splines and auto/manual variants etc... Obviously, the hardest part about these cars is getting the bugger out and if I could do it myself I'd definitely take the time and get it rebuilt but would this be the best option? In saying that, would anyone have recommendations of a shop that will remove and rebuild within a reasonable cost? I don't really care too much about the clunk from the diff because when the car's warm its not too bad... but when it is cold sometimes I have trouble getting it into gear with what feels like gear clash in the box. Would this be solely the diff or could the manual box have some backlash too? Thanks for the help.
  3. Hi all. Anyone have any tips on removing the turbo side engine mount without removing the turbo? I was thinking of taking the heat shields off but can this be done without removing the turbo? cheers.
  4. Hi all, I have a few questions I need answered in regards to my 07 BF XR6T.. sh*tty questions some may be but they are burning questions and thought I could get some insight however limited through here 1. What is the stock turbo in on the BFs? I've read so many different model numbers and just want a straight answer. 2. I hear a metal clunking noise after letting the clutch pedal out what could that be? It happens as you let off the pedal and start moving forward or backward. 3. There is a squeak coming from the engine bay when it is cold outside, basically like a belt squeak but the belt seems to be fine.. goes away when warmer any ideas? 4. I need my diff bushes replaced which I am getting done soon but if down the road I need to replace my toe blade bushes too can that be done diy without a hoist by replacing the whole arm as a set? 5. When changing gear I get the usual clunk from the diff due to the diff bushes but when it is not there (usually when I am softer with clutch engagement) it feels like the gears are rattling in the gearbox (stupid way of thinking about it I know). Is this just the box taking the force of the busted diff bushes instead of the thunk of the diff? If I change the bushes should this go away or could it be something screwed in the box? 6. I think my HIM module may be stuffed but when changing the direction of the airflow eg to the window demister it does not change but instead stays on face and same goes for putting it on face and it does face and feet. I disconnected the battery overnight and it fixed the issue but not too long after it came back. Any way to solve this? I can hear the motors moving so I believe they are working but unless I disconnect the battery it doesnt change properly. Thanks for reading my stupid questions let alone attempting to answer them but all info is much appreciated
  5. Good Afternoon Ladies, Gentlemen and fellow boost enthusiasts. So after finally picking up an XR6T, it is time to start increasing the unicorn farts and panty dropping skid ability. The car is a 2007 BF Mk2 XR6 Turbhoe with the wonderful T56 box. (Gotta love a good box). It has 140,000kms and has had a fairly easy life (according to it being a family/mums car). I am looking for around the 300rwkw mark and want it on a budget (no, not sh*tbox budget. Considering the car was cheap and I wont keep it forever, im not willing to spend a fortune. I've been looking at parts that past few weeks and have made a short list.. - Intercooler: HDi Intercooler with piping $558 http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/HDI-HYBRID-GT2-FRONT-MOUNT-INTERCOOLER-KIT-FORD-FALCON-BA-BF-XR6-F6-TYPHOON-/351283237723?hash=item51ca1cd35b:g:hjYAAOSwxfNXNvoc - Pump: Walbro GSS341 (quoted 500hp capable) about $120 on eBay - Injectors: 1000cc BOSCH Fuel injector $600 eBay (do I need 1000cc?) - Custom Dyno Tune (How much to pay?) I don't plan on upgrading internals including valve springs as I know the BF ones are already beefier. Anything else to consider, let me know. Cheers all.
  6. Hi all, So I recently picked up a Manual BF MK2.5 XR6T with 140000 on the clock. While I know this is high kms it was a good price which I couldn't resist. I have a few questions regarding the naintainenece etc. 1. I'm going to do a full service of the car soon (oils, fluids, filters etc) so what would be recommended on a turbo of this age? The gearbox is a bit sticky so I'm going to do a service on that. 2. How can I check the health of the engine? I don't want to give it a bootfull until I know how healthy it is. 3. Is it true that the bf mk2.5 engine has similar internals to the typhoon engine? If so what parts? 4. The gearbox is making a roll over noise (apparently common on these gearboxes) should I be worried or is this normal? Any more tips just let us knowThanks!
