Hey to everyone who offered possible answers to the problems with the Brakes/ABS. We finally found a good mechanic in town, who worked out exactly what was going on with VIPER It was the front right wheel bearing we put in over 6 months ago. Apparently the proper WB has four magnetic points or something.. so this bearing didnt have this throwing out the ABS. Only cost $580 to fix thank goodness. Thanks again

Had it in for a free safety check at fulcrum.. the machine said it was the sensor.. replaced that ddrove home from workshop and it did it again.. bought the brake pistons.. half day to put those in.. then it did it again when we stopped at torbenlea garage..we are putting another brake booster in it tomorrow.. and master cylinder.. x fingers this works.. have almost a new car all new running gear under it.

It was the Harmonic balancer and one of the radiator fans snapped .. got that fixed now its the ABS brakes.. done the sensors, the brake pistons... right one was shattered... still grabbing in the front when pulling up.. and abs dash lights come on.. replacing the brake booster tomorrow.. that better stop that problem or I will blow it up lol. thanks for your imput guys.

Yes we have driven it since, not so much give it a good boot.. we started it yesterday and it sounds rattly in the front of the motor. Will try and take another video tomorrow. Not game to drive it atm. thanks No the car doesnt lose power but when you give it a good boot it vibrates the whole car. We started it yesterday and it sounds like timing chain rattle. will try to take a video of it tomorrow. cheers for your help Hey, yes I can remember, we took off from home giving it a good boot... drove for 10 minutes.. stopped at a shop for 5 got back in started it.. the whole car vibrated bad. Went straight to our mechanic.. he said turn off the aircon.. it stopped the vibration, drove it home no aircon on.. drove it up town next day not flat out.. and the car vibrated just idoling at the lights no aircon on. Took it for drive yesterday and still doing it.. thanks it is hard to trust any mechanic around this town..

Hi Puffwagon, husband gave it a good go taking off from home.. then stopped at the shop 10 mins later. there was no vibration prior to taking off. Started the car and it was vibrating through the car.. we drove to our mechanics and he tested things turned off aircon and it didnt vibrate.. he advised dont use aircon until you get the new aircon part fitted. I drove it normally like miss daisy does.. and it started vibrating through the car low speed going forward.. I went straight home and parked in the shed. no aircon on so its not the aircon bearing the mechanic thought it was.. I did video the noise it was making and it was comin from the front of the motor but both pullies have been changed with new parts. So it must be something inside the motor?

It does it when the motor is under load guys.

Hi, our 09 FG XR6 Turbo has a vibration going through the whole car.. at first we n mechanic thought it was the aircon bearing so drove it a couple times then I noticed the vibration was constant even not using the aircon. A guy who works at autobarn he took it for a drive and said he feels it is the harmonic balancer that's the problem. I have been reading other posts and many have said it could be the timing chain slipped? We have replaced the pullies already tailshafts been balanced twice on and off the car, new wheels, rotars brakes, new left hand engine mount, all done.. Anyone have any ideas that may help save us $$$$ Weve had it at reputable mechanics and none of them picked up that the engine mount was stuffed, fulcrum at stafford picked it up straight away. Thanks heaps everyone we love this car but its costing way to much in repairs lately grrr.

Hi Ive had my 2009FG XR6 TURBO for 3 months n in the last 2 months weve had it in at 2 different dealer service depattments to find why theres a bad vibration through the car when we give her the boot.. We have had the diff center bearing done tailshaft balanced now they say the rose joint needs replacing...n the diff bushes werent put in properly. They were done before we bought the car. The spark plugs were changed to irridions recently. Does anyone have ant suggestions what it might be please?
