DSC - System Comms- Check Engine - RSS Faults

Could be a wheel speed sensor disabling the abs and traction control. The comms fault is the hard one though.- 16 replies

On my FG it never got fixed, no one I took the car to had any idea what to do. Only thing suggested to me was to get a retune off the factory ecu and get rid of the flash tuner (suggested by a tuner). Sadly a couple months later I blew up the ZF6 and that was the end of the FG anyway 😂- 16 replies

Thanks for the suggestion mate that's definitely a possibility. The turbo was replaced 10000ks ago but maybe the actuator was a dud. I'll throw a boost gauge in and check for over-boosting. Cheers.

Hi guys, I have a bone stock manual 2005 XR6 Turbo Ute, done 97000ks. I'm occasionally getting a "misfire" of sorts when under load in 3rd or 4th gear. It doesn't happen all the time, but when it does, its at about ~4000rpm in 3rd or 4th gear only, happens whether I'm WOT or just cruising up the rpms, seems to be when it's at full boost. When it occurs, the rpms drop instantly back to about 2000-3000 and I have no input with the accelerator. If I try to accelerate it just stays at about 2000ish rpm and the engine sounds like its "out of sync" for lack of a better term. I either have to turn the car off and on again, or put it in neutral (still moving) blip the accelerator a couple times, put in back in a gear and the engine just "gets back in sync" and starts revving normally again. I've searched the forums and have tried a few suggestions. I've had my mechanic replace the intake manifold gasket, spark plugs and coils but it has made no difference. It's hard for a mechanic to diagnose because they test drive it and it's fine or they can't get it to do it so they can only suggest parts to change based off the problem I'm describing. If anyone has any suggestions please let me know. Cheers.

Just wondering if anyone knows the torque specs for the tail shaft coupling/flex joint for a 2012 Falcon FG Xr6 Turbo Auto. Been searching on the forums and haven't been able to find any torque specs as of yet. If I can't find any I might just do it up to my own standard of bloody tight. I had a look for commodores and its 75-85 for one model but 115 for another, so I'm really unsure :/ any help is appeciated, cheers! Edit: 75-85nm or 115nm

Not sure what model or anything, can't remember since I installed them along time ago. Can't see it written on any of the parts either. I know I have a small manual for it somewhere which does specify what it is but It's not with me. I luckily received them off an old neighbor of mine who loved all electronic devices and stuff, he upgraded so I got his old ones, so they are definitely old tech but still do the job alright. Here are some pics of what it looks like and how I have it mounted. The control box is mounted on the plastic left of the brake pedal and the alarm is stuck on the plastic close to the driver seat which makes a beeping sound when jamming a radar signal. It also doubles as a front parking sensor and I've got a switch mounted under the steering wheel which changes it between radar jamming, off and parking sensor mode in case police question what it is but its pretty hard to see especially at night since its flush with the front grill

Thanks mate, I think the fuse tap will be the best way to go as I already have Radar Jammers running off the cigarette lighter. Cheers for the photos aswell, great help!

I might be able to find something like that, my model already does have AUX and USB so not sure if If the plug to use the AUX harness would still be there

Hey, looking at installing a few things electrical into my 2012 FG XR6T and was wondering if anyone knew where I could find the easiest 12V sources to power them. I don't think I can use my cigarette lighter again as I'm already using that to power my radar jammers. I've got a boost gauge and some LED strips I want to install so nothing too power consuming but I need to find a couple good 12V sources. I'v read that I might be able to use a fuse tap or something but I'm no expert. Any help would be great expecially pics, thanks!

Yeah I wasn't happy. I was saying to the ford rep, what took you 2 hours to figure out that your computer can't do sh*t to my car, explain to me how you spent my 160 an hour to tell me nothing more than I already knew about my vehicle. I told the rep I wanted to talk to the tech who was working on my car cos this bloke knew I <3 Bananasall about what was going on. I was pretty angry because money is really tight with me and 320$ to find out nothing really hurt bloody Titan ford.- 16 replies

DSC - System Comms- Check Engine - RSS Faults
TurboTimTam replied to TurboTimTam's topic in Electrics Workshop
Still not resolved. Took it into ford last week and had it diagnosed. Spent 320 for them to tell me that their computers don't work with my car because it has been tuned and my Xcal tuner wasn't working either due to being corrupt or having out of date software apparantly. so they gave me a whole list of error codes that came up but they have no idea what they mean and told me to go to a tuning shop and get them to have a look or retune my car then bring it back to ford. So basically I'm in the sh*t money wise and no idea what to do. The Ford tech said from what he can tell all the important computer sh*t isn't communicating with each other and for all he knows my airbags might not even go off, hope that is just an exaggeration but I don't really know. If anyone can make sense of all these error codes feel free to make any suggestions.- 16 replies

I have recently bought a 2012 Ford Falcon XR6 Turbo and I have some issues with fault codes. Whenever I start the car I always get the DSC and System Comms faults, non of my cars drivability is effected although it is quite annoying having my dash light up like a bloody christmas tree. The guy I bought it off said they just need to be cleared by Ford so I hope that's just the case. I also sometimes randomly get a Check Engine fault. Sometimes I drive and don't get the issue, sometimes it comes up when I start the car or sometimes 15 minutes into a trip. Previous owner said that is happening due to the DSC and System Comms fault although Im worried it is something more. I also get the RSS fault at times although I think its just dust clogging a sensor most likely. My car always drives the same and sounds the same although are these faults something I need to worry about? My car has been tuned and is running 460rwhp so could that be a reason all these faults have occurred with the car? Also the car had these issues when I bought it so lets hope I haven't bought a lemon, the bloke also reckons I just need to get the codes cleared by Ford, is this true or could there be more lying behind the faults. Sorry for long post, thanks.

BA Shift Knob help needed
TurboTimTam replied to TurboTimTam's topic in Interior & Exterior Workshop
Yeah, I have decided I'll just keep it. It got checked out by some mechanic people who were interested in swapping a car for it and they couldn't find a single thing wrong with my falcon (I declined their swap). I figured if I know my falcon is in mint tip top condition *good on ya mum, tip tops the one* I might as well keep it instead of selling and just do it up a bit so I can enjoy it for a couple years more knowing nothing will break down or wear out in the near future. Once I'm done with the replacing the shifter I want to go for some more performance mods but im not sure what to get done because I (A) don't know how many kilowatts im currently producing with the mods I'm running and (B) Not sure whats most price effective for increasing performance. I'd love to go on a cruise sometime for sure! just trying to find the forum page with cruise info on it for WA.- 13 replies
