I don't condone at all what happened However what was the point of this thread. All it does is give people an opportunity to drag out there tired old, boring, whingeing complaints about the cops did this, the cops did that....blah blah blah The upshot of what you are telling the Forum is that a Police officer did something illegal, you complained about it, it was investigated and he was found guilty of some offences. Therefore the Police Force acted exactly how the community expected so the matter ends there. Now because the thread, some moron skites about how he can get away with anything in a particular area because his sister works there, another moron makes an obscene remark because a Police officer did something illegal, was investigated and punished Would this incident be made into a thread if a bartender was charged with threatening you at the front of your house? ..if an electrician constantly disconnected your power to your house in a form of harrassment over texting your ex girlfriend there are millions of examples The guy did the wrong this, he was investigated and punished. Most speed is mixed in home labs and has all sorts of stuff added in.....industrial cleaners and the like. They have never implemented a system to STOP offenders from driving away. Every system has been on the basis that the crook being chased will comply with the lights and sirens of the pursuing car. If we were allowed to nudge a car as they do in the States pursuits would only go for a few seconds instead of much longer. Road spikes are only part of the system that is used in the US. Like anything the NSW Govt has only taken a small part of a larger solution to apply to a problem. TJF I say

It has always been easy to find an out of the way area (not an industrial area) to experiment with the car. An organised street drag race come to mind. A track day. A friends paddock. A bit safer and more sensible than a public road. I'm glad he smashed up his car!

The Subaru would be a handful with lots of power (in comparison to it's light weight and little engine) and a short wheelbase but any decent driver would be able to handle that with ease. He was just a *beep* doing something stupid with his *beep* mates on a public road!

No I certainly didn't miss the point and I explained why I didn't miss the point. In the past I have tried to ofer sensible answers to sensible questions and the thread, not matter how genuine they are, ALWAYS end up into a cop bashing thread more ignorant, moronic, stupid, arrogant and selfish people who refuse to accept responsibility for their actions and always seem to blame somebody else for being caught doing something that they know is wrong (even of they don't know the exact ruling of the law) If, in the circumstances you describe, was how the incident unfolded, go to the local Police station and ask the Supervisor. At least you might get an answer rather then hypothesising with others who have turned your question into an excuse to display their pond life mentality.
