  1. you will nee to port the turbo unless you want to run 16-18 psi in the mid
  2. having the same dilemma at the moment, the phone salseman came out with his iphone 5 and an adaptor, plugged it into the G6ET and none of his music would come up on the icc
  3. if using external with screamer and wastegate is actually open under boost then exhaust size is not quite as critical, just harder to get an accurate tune
  4. cam shafts advanced in relation to crank
  5. no worries, call on Monday and we can organize things for you
  6. anybody except for Dion now has to start from scratch if tuning your car with SCT, we are not as booked out as we were as I have more staff now, but will be stopping tuning early this year due to the arrival of a baby in early December, so do not want to mess people around that have bookings that may get affected of the babies arrival as some of our customers are interstate people
  7. if the exhaust you have purchased flows more air than what you have then the tune needs to be adjusted to suit, is this a car w have already tuned? if so you do not have to pay for a complete tune, just for dyno time to adjust
  8. don't think I've seen a twin 2.75" system
  9. all I have seen have been advanced
  10. it is different for ford dealers compared to other mechanics, ford would normally be getting the engine back and making sure it is destroyed, never to be used a again, I know that dealership staff have to stamp numbers on new engines when replaced under warranty.
  11. correct which is what I have seen, I have seen 3 teeth out and no issues except for the warning light
  12. I would not be stamping any number on a block without an official letter, it would be fraud for the mechanic to do that without authorisation
  13. you need a shop that has a scan tool that can marry the ecu to the car or take it to ford
  14. well I guess not all motors are the same then or my customers have been extremely lucky
  15. you have a BA, different car, just because you are not aware of any issues does not mean things are good, saw a car recently that had been tuned elsewhere, owner thought everything was good, did a dyno run and it looked acceptable, data logged it while doing some more dyno runs, it was a grenade waiting to go off
  16. afr's is the least of your concerns with boost changes. The ecu is configure to know to control the boost level, you can not turn this off unless you get a tune. It still needs a tune to stop the light coming on though because of the cat change
  17. to stop the ecu from trying to control it, and if the boost is different from stock the spark tables need to be adjusted but still needs a tune for the cat
  18. and you still need a tune, the ecu will be trying to control boost unless turned off if using an aftermarket boost controller, but the engine light would still be coming on from the cat replacement
  19. if using generic OBD2 pids, they actual boost may vary slightly as they are not as fast as the ford specific pid
  20. just by camshaft positioning, no positive way to easily tell what springs are in there
  21. unless you take the timing case off, you are not going to be able to set it up by the marks, put the motor on top dead on No1 and see where the cams sit
  22. loose flywheel/driveplate is a common thing on these cars, normally disappears also when in gear and loaded up a little

    Coil Packs

there was a ford dealer a few years ago that was caught selling aftermarket parts as genuine over their front counter, they were copying packaging etc so it appeared to be genuine, I'm always a bit wary now especially when a dealer is also selling parts on ebay cheaper than what they sell to the trade for. http://www.heraldsun.com.au/news/victoria/ford-dealer-sued-for-odd-bits/story-e6frf7kx-1111112812527
