there's lot of better engines around, but we wanted to see what the boss was capable of unopened and show that setup correctly it could fight with the best of them, the quickest turbo's at the time were still running 10's except for Adams which went 9 in a stripped out car fuel economy, although not as good as Bels G6ET was still a lot better than what a lot of guys on here report they get with their T's

is he tuning it with the bent compressor blades? did you tell him they were bent?

timing chains have no service life as such, they last until they become noisy which in many cases can be the life of the car. Valve springs in a stock car again in most cases will last the life of the car but in performance applications can require frequent replacement depending on valve lift, rpm used and quality of the springs, some forms of motorsport the valve springs are checked between races and replaced very frequently

the cams are put in at the factory, that's what happens with factory engines, The 11.7 was with just bolt ons and set up to suit, probably cheaper than what most spend on their 6's, it was also my dailey driver and drove very well you have a car that may run a high to low 12 if you know how to drive, you have a mouth that is bigger than your dyno sheet curve and your experience is smaller than.............. your answers prove your knowledge, the op should thank you for trying to contribute, but your one eye uninformed opinion is what leads many people astray

any dealer can flash a factory tune back into it, but overboost will still need to be sorted out

I get annoyed when people mouth off about things they have no idea about, I think I proved the Boss is not the boat anchor most people go on about, what does matsfgxr6turbo run? is it as good as the turbo motor? well that depends on what you want and how you want to go about it. XRLENTFG, just because others have done conversion does mean it will be ok, you need to check with your insurance and rego people to what is actually acceptable otherwise you may have a car that is useless to you, you may be fine but do your homework before doing anything

yeah do the 5.4 conversion add a few mods and go scare a lot of T's that think they are boat anchors seriously though the turbo conversion would be easier and if modding, easier to get power out of, but any conversion is going to cost you more than it's worth and possibly leave you in a legal loop hole re insurance and rego

unless that crack is leaking exhaust gas then it's not your problem, we see quite a few manifolds that appear to have cracks but they are normally only casting cracks to a an air bubble in the cast and are not a problem

Same as petrol in that everybody will get different economy numbers, but my ute as an example cost me approx half the price in fuel on LPG compared to petrol for the same distance

I've done them for owners in Tas, Vic, NSW and QLD but not over west, not sure if others have done them though, I know there was one in SA but they could never get it 100% right from what I've read in the past
