  1. the trutac will not whine, that sounds like a set up issue
  2. I had an issue maybe 6 months ago and was kept in the loop on Don's car
  3. Only X4's are available to sell new
  4. keep your Xcal3 unless your tuner has an issue with the file size, it accesses the same file information
  5. Ralph, I think it's Brendan that just posted again today/yesterday about the FG torque table being incorrect, there are others that are not there that are there with SCT, I'm not really going to go into them as I use these tables to help fudge what can be viewed by somebody trying to copy my tunes, but as an example there are still tables missing that affect the torque management of the 4 speed auto that I asked for years ago. PTR Xcal 2 still works with a car that is not ZF a ZF equipped car requires a Xcal 3 or X4 X4 has bigger internal memory handling capabilities and is required in some cases all must be an aussie sold one
  6. there are 2 other software companies that can tune the falcon ecu, still not as complete as SCT.
  7. the ZF has 51 different shift tables, I think it's 3 of them that take off in 2nd gear and yes they can be adjusted, as can the clunk when changing back to first at low speed
  8. also yes, although it can be changed with a tune, actually both can be changed with a tune
  9. some of the supplied injector data is not able to be reproduced in a workshop scenario, this data can mean an injector operating correctly under all situations rather than hoping fuel trims might rectify things
  10. would need to recheck but it may have been compared to a V8 air box which already picked up power over the stock one

    Gtw3884R

we can get them using a factory rear housing, but as mentioned, there is 2 of each model, cartridge or ball bearing
  12. because it has more boost at a lower rpm, so the torque and power is higher at that lower rpm
  13. Barnz is spot on, engine variety, size etc it does not matter when comparing same numbers at same rpm
  14. why do you worry about it, most people do not understand it which is what I suspect
  15. if it's making xxx amount of power at xxxx rpm, then it's making the same torque as any other engine at the same power/rpm level
  16. oil temps do not fluctuate as much as coolant, takes longer to get to temp and longer to get rid of temp compared to coolant
  17. Generic statements? Why? Because it does not agree with what you posted? do you have any factual information to add or just the stuff you already posted?
  18. hotter thermostats do produce better fuel economy no matter who or how it is tuned, colder help keep under bonnet temps down and useful when good intercoolers are not used. Modern oils do need a minimum temp for the additives to start to work and give the protection you pay for with the oil, running too low coolant temp can keep the oil temp down as well
  19. rumour has it that there might be another Process West intercooler group buy
  20. your intercooler is very ordinary to start off with, it will struggle to meet your minimum requirements unless everything else is working very hard to get there. Yes I know you have water/meth but there's risk associated with that running out of fluid 350 is a big ask for a BA motor when it was new, let alone on one with 188k on it
  21. fit valve springs and tune the car in 1 day is asking for a "not great result" and your choice of parts is far from ideal and will limit your power
  22. Brett offered to send me the file, but I don't think there is any need for me to see it, he is very switched on
  23. are you sure you did not get a gtx 3582r?
  24. for those chasing every last bit of power from the small turbo, yes they may consider it worthwhile. Somebody with a big turbo chasing power, yes for sure
