  1. assuming the core is any good, purchasing second hand could end up with something that may last the life of the car or only last a week
  2. a pretty common theme lately is people trying to save themselves money, buy off ebay/Gumtree/forums and getting lied to, end up costing more to get things done correctly, it's getting hard to trust anybody these days
  3. looks stock to me as well
  4. there's better choices out there if chasing cheap performance, but too many read posts that are made by people that have no idea and then they believe them about being boat anchors
  5. what ever fuel you want as long as the car is tuned for it, if stock tune 95 or 98, you could run P100 but would be wasting your time as there is no benefit with stock tune and you will use more of it
  6. What fuel, what car, what afr? What fuel pressure? The xr6t auto will see somewhere around 320
  7. does your mechanic have a dyno and software to adjust the factory ecu?
  8. why are you asking us, shouldn't you be asking him or at least what did he say? what programme is he using to tune it? does he know the comp is different?
  9. a lot of customers do not get a choice, it appears that they get given what the guy doing the tuning wants, they do not even get warned about damage that can occur
  10. was about to post about the damage that can be done but beaten to it
  11. problems or no problems, it varies according to what boost is desired, if you want to run 12 psi and can't get it down to this then there is a problem, if you want to run 18 and you can get this with control left then all is acceptable
  12. 12 psi is enough to spin them easily, many people do not realise that every time you have to pedal due to wheel spin, you will loose a few tenth's, having a wheel spin beast is good for showing off but does not make a quick car
  13. matsfgxr6turbo, it's not about money, it's about having correct boost control and happy customers, Bels G6ET makes 320+ rwkw on 12 psi, yet I see lots of of FG's making similar or less power with 18 psi in the mid, why? unless you know what boost and what duty cycle on the wastegate, you have no idea about what is going on
  14. not trying to get political as I hate politics, but love how the finger is now being pointed at Abbot, he's been in the job for 5 minutes, this rot has been going on for years, it's just happened on his shift so he gets the blame for it????
  15. don't have the specs on the stock fg one but would think they are possibly around 6 lb or so, they can be more than doubled in the mid depending on set up
  16. unless he had his staff working for free, then they were operating well below a break even point, assuming they were spending any decent time tuning
  17. does not matter who is tuning it, if the wastegate is being commanded to be fully open and the boost exceeds what is desired then the port needs to be done.
  18. matsfgxr6turbo, your information is not correct if he wants good boost control without excessive boost
  19. there can be lots of reasons why a business can go bust, some can be from greed from the owners taking more than what the business is actually earning, but many do not know their true operating cost and operate less than this, there was an example of this recently local to me where a shop was offering very cheap tunes and Xcal 3's, they are no longer in business
  20. unfortunately this is happening more often with people buying online, hope you get satisfaction with a happy outcome
  21. so did the last car you had engineered have air bags?
  22. the 3mm steel plate he has fitted may be heavier than what was removed
