  1. if it's all in the tune, why do we need to spend money on intercoolers at all? Why do manufacturers have spark adjustment for IAT? because it does matter what the temp of the IAT is and what the engine can tolerate before knocking
  2. a race car is a totally different scenario to a street car
  3. can make banging noises with overboost, then it will go totally quiet
  4. depending on where the car was tuned, some shops will drill them out to flow more
  5. hopefully some one of them will come in and answer your question but several people have indicated they can change them in something like 20 minutes

  7. Bels G6ET currently has 1250 injectors in it and it idles on 550 rpm with no issues at all, no adaptors were required, although on a B series, extensions would be required
  8. torque management is coming into affect
  9. we have the original ford tool for doing the diff bushes, the cradle must be removed using this tool, without butchering the car by cutting holes in it, maybe ford have updated their tool but not aware of it

most people do not let them rev, the heads on them means the power does not really work unitl above 4000 rpm, set them up properly and use the right diff gear and have a reasonably quick street car, yes the turbo can be made to go quicker for cheaper and the new SC 5.0 is a far better motor, but the 5.4 is not as bad as most will have you believe

I'm used to it, half the sh*t I get is from people that are slower than my old car but think their turbo car is the quickest thing ever. but we are on a turbo forum after all.

yep, just add a few bolt on's and run 11's na
  14. save up for a 6 spd conversion and get a decent clutch
  15. 5 or 6 speed?
  16. very cheap when you consider you need, tailshaft, crossmember, rear mount, cooler hoses, convertor, adaptor plate, gear shifter and a trans to handle decent power, the tune will also have to be adjusted
  17. quite normal for this brand.
  18. have no idea about your tuner, but there are many Expensive Daewoo tuners using vcm and branch into doing fords but have problems getting their heads around how they operate, we have tuned many cars with 80lb'ers with no issues but do not use vcm. is this also on your new clutch?
  19. nailing it in 3rd gear is not running it in and will fck it really quickly if it has not bed in
  20. it is not rwc with mods, even just a tune is not rwc, some testers may not be aware of certain mods and it may slip through
  21. unless your spark tables are accurate for the boost being used, damage can occur
  22. he could be correct, it could also be a csc that has failed or something as simple as the clutch fluid needs to be topped up and rebled
  23. turbotrana makes some good points but I was thinking more along the lines of what sort of clearances is he going to use and based on what experience, there are a quite a few builders that can these days build a strong a strong engine that is not noisy, which means the knock sensors can still be used for safety. If you go by the common clearances for piston to bore then most the time you have a noisy engine. A good engine builder will assemble an engine several times and get the clearances to where they require, a guy doing this at home is not going to in most cases dummy assemble, then strip and send the parts away again possibly several times until the correct specifications are meet
  24. just a friendly warning, there's more to building an engine correctly than just bolting a bunch of parts together
  25. Ford are not closing down, they are just stopping production in australia
