  1. Guessing you have the later style sensor?
  2. We used to spin my BA 5.4 to 7000 when we were racing it unopened, the boss 5.4 is known as a slug, normally by people that have no idea. I presently have a FG 5.4 but are going to leave it stock and put my money towards a S/C 5.0.
  3. it's low for a GTX35/82r and depending on dyno is close to what you'd expect from the 76, pulling timing can increase boost but no power gain
  4. have you spoken to the dealer about programming and what you need? Do you have the donor car? just swaping from one car to another, you may end up needing things like abs module, ignition and keys, icc etc
  5. are you trying to save a custom tune in the ecu?
  6. arronm, agree about the barbed ones but there are some coolers that take dash type fittings that are still small internally, most people do not even realise the size required
  7. Almost anyone can do the port. how well? have seen some jobs from specialist that did not work very well when combined with free flowing intake and exhaust
  8. from what I have been told by several ZF specialists is that oil flow is critical, the factory cooler lines are something like 12-13 mm (maybe 1/2") most aftermarket oil to air coolers are only 3/8 internal size and this will restrict flow, even if large size hoses are used to the cooler. Not saying this is your issue but could be a starting point.
  9. what size hose and fittings have you used, what size are the tubes in the cooler?
  10. Over priced gauge??? most gauges are overpriced, but I think tis gauge is pretty vital if using different fuels so you at least know the ethanol content of the fuel in the tank and either take it real easy or load a tune to suit. The sensors appear accurate, the problem is Zeotronix changed the sensor that they were using, I appears there is a difference in output between the two types but consistent between sensors of the same style, the newer style appears to show a lower ethanol reading compared to the earlier style sensor which always showed United E85 as between 83-85%
  11. that is correct and why reading lambda is more accurate, especially if there is any doubt about the ethanol content or changing ethanol content In my section I have a post called AFR Vs Lambda Readings, it might help explain things
  12. yes, if it is being held open it will be laggy
  13. it can be checked if jammed, just by looking at the arm with a mirror if you know where it should sit, to check whether it catches intermittently then the dump may need to be removed
  14. I'd rather pay somebody $1000 for 6 hrs work rather than pay $500 for 2 hrs, things take time to do properly
  15. a cheapy code reader may give you no codes at all even though there are some there
  16. there have always been other options out there, many people have tried them, some swear they are ok, but many of them upgrade to the better ones
  17. A sensor can be used to monitor the ethanol content, but our software does not have the compatibility you use a sensor to adjust the tune to suit varying ethanol content
  18. The fuel pumps used are usually more that $200 and there's probably that much again in fuel fittings, add the pump bracket and insulators it does leave much for the material and labour to produce the actual tank
  19. many people have bought the cheap ones and ended up with issues, whether size, leaks or noise or even a combination of all above, the good ones come complete, no cutting of existing fuel hoses/pipes is required and are normally trouble free
  20. so many people keep trying to re-invent the wheel, most people use a couple of brands for a reason, it's cheaper in the long run to do things right the first time
  21. depends on whether you call a ventilated block bad or not, some may see this as a positive so they have an excuse to build a good motor
