  1. changing the compressor wheel means it's not the stock baby turbo anymore, that's where it gets hard when records are claimed, different interpretations come into play
  2. sorry, they are 2 different cars and different but similar specs, but had similar boost levels
  3. they come with extensions and wiring adaptors if genuine ID's are purchased
  4. every track would be different and even different on different days, not to even start considering tyre type and pressure etc, this is why race cars spend days qualifying to get the car set up correct.
  5. many people think that it possible to get 330 rwkw, from experience I think some cars will only get 315 rwkw while others may make up to 325, we have seen a few runs above that but only a fluke run
  6. we normally see better economy from the 1000's when driven lightly
  7. I'm also learning all the time, but because we have done so many LPG turbo cars, I like to know the limits of the systems, I also k now that orbital do not allow any adjustment to their system or provide a means of doing it There is no accurate way to work out 100% engine power from rwkw power, Nizpro a few years ago fund that there was something like 22%-25% difference from an engine that went on their engine dyno and then in the car, but to be honest the percentage will vary with the output being made.
  8. dyno chart showing the difference between 2 cars one had a stock FG cooler and the other was a car with a ProcessWest stage 1 cooler, both tuned and the temp difference is quite evident, even though the P/west equipped car is making more boost, there is nowhere near the temp increase
  9. and wear tyres out rather quickly, most road car owners would complain if their tyres lasted 200 klms or less
  10. maybe they felt the engine was not in good condition???
  11. to cut that short, you need the weight to move where you want it to be.
  12. Hey Rio, I'm happy that your happy, thanks for trusting us with your car Gunna: we've done cars from QLD before, nit accepting your excuse
  13. your car if stock is tuned in close loop boost control, this will; keep boost the same until it crashes out and goes into limp mode, the factory temp adders are very conservative also
  14. We have fitted several of the orbital systems to Turbo cars and were told by Orbital that petrol is used under boost after a certain rpm because the gas system does not flow enough, the last we did was only a month ago. There is nothing the installer can do to alter this either
  15. too stiff and too low all compromise suspension which affects traction, a smooth road surface can afford a stiffer suspension set up but will hurt straight line traction, anything with the possibility of bumps etc needs softer suspension to keep the tyres on the ground
  16. Orbital system on FG XR6T uses petrol under boost
  17. No worries mate, good luck with it
  18. not sceptical about anything, I hear some amazing stories customers have been told when we are fixing up other shops work, but your tuner has given you the correct answer, for him to know, it needs to be run up and checked, if boost has changed it needs a tune for sure, even with an exhaust change and the boost remaining the same, the spark tables may need adjustment, the way to find out is put it on the dyno and check
  19. it may not have audible ping on the dyno but that does not mean there may not be timing being pulled out by the knock sensor, I tested a car once for a guy that his cousin had tuned his car, dyno run showed everything appearing reasonable, but then data logged it, 10 degrees of timing retard the minute the foot was put down.
  20. how's that a money making exercise? Sounds like he may be talking you out of extra work
  21. did you check your fuel pressure at idle Greg?
  22. what model does the OP have?, b series crossovers are a lot different to FG
