1. If he was to get a new flash box to tune his car, the first time it was plugged into his car, the modified tune (if it has one) would then become his F tune, a tuner could flash a standard tune into the car, but it would not be his f tune. It could then have another flash box plugged in and then then that tune would become the F tune, in the 2nd box, but it would leave the first box worthless A ford dealer could reflash it back to stock but would probably charge for it. The car should be run to see what PSI it is running to see if it has been tuned or not
2. American DOT approval is not recognised in australia, so a lot of people are using tyres they think are legal and they are not, although most coppers do not even realise this
3. Thanks for the post Danny It's interesting about the extra features of the sniper over the edit, as I have been trying to get info on exactly what the extra features are, but have not been getting any feedback. I understand that the extra features that SCT have have not opened, may not be necessary for our tuning and maybe that's what Sniper are basing their claims on, but if they are not needed, I guess we don't need them, We wont know until we can see what they they are.
4. How is it a better tuning tool, have you seen both of them to compare them? I want to kow what extra features this new software has over the capa software.
5. His was done by APS frankston if you give them a call on 03 9783 8300 they will give you the number of a sydney agent that will fit their kit for you
6. Probably half as much as they cost sorry could not help myself
7. Don't know for sure but have heard os stories of $130 but that includes reloading generic tunes. I would expect they may do it for free if you were getting a custom tune at the same time.
8. If you are wearing it and it is loose from not retracting, if you have an accident it would be next to useless.
9. Ok then you just have to get it unlocked by a tuner or by CAPA
10. It does matter what tunes were in the box as the same box does all our cars. The box first must return the original car back to the stock tune and then returned to a tuner or to CAPA to be unlocked. You will probably be charged for this unlocking so factor this into the cost of buying the 2nd hand box and there are some good prices out there at the momment. A few people advertised that their 2nd hand boxes are unlocked, they say this because they have returned the car back to the stock tune. This [b]does not unlock the box, but is the first step to getting a box unlocked.

12. the box will have to be unlocked by a dealer or by Capa if you want to use it on another car. But first the original car must be flashed back to the factory tune for this to be done. Expect to pay a tuner to do this for you unless you are possibly buying tunes of them.
13. Rods are attached to the pistons and the pistons have to be fitted from the top because the ring compressor has to sit flush against the block, so the head has to come off
14. Congratulations on the times, after all the stuffing around you have had, it's good to see you getting good results with your latest tuner.
15. Have you run over a chinaman ? your'e not having a good run
16.
i do not intend to use them for a little while but when they are installed does the tuner need to know any conversion factors to get them spraying correctly ? If so is this info freely available or will you need to supply it ?
Capa tuners should have a set of value files they will be able to use for these injectors, but Danny may have a set of fine tuned files that may be better.
17. How much difference to the roadnoise did dynomatting make?
18. Yeah possibly the same local source I understand that it changes the stft and ltft and I was pretty impressed that it could change each cylinder if needed, but how do we prove it works unless we put seperate EGT's on each cylinder. Moving the o2 with different extractors would cause havoc then unless you adjusted the o2 transport delay function and it could be pretty hit or miss, because it you had it slightly wrong it would be adjusting the wrong cylinder. It's all very interesting though
19. I thought it was funny that the site bot appeared straight after you complained about it
20. I have read "The PCM is told how far the o2 is from the cylinder head and it is then given a time window of when it expects to see the exhaust from the last cylinder that fired. It knows which cylinder, from the firing order. At this point it expects to see that firer sequence in the window while calculating RPM, the tuner can set this window. Whe it does it can then adjust the mixture for that cylinder based on the o2 sensor." Is this correct or not?
21. Just found out it was trailered to the event, sorrry if I misled anyone, but it's still quick
22. I guess Dions results on the weekend show that he knows what he is doing, 10.22 full weight is not a bad acheivement, being a ute also makes it heavier than a sedan so I wonder how quick it would have gone it if weighed as much as the sedan that ran a 9. It was great that he also drove to and from the track just changing wheels when he got there.
23. Pretty sure it was 11.8, they were expecting more but broken rear springs halted the action
24. Anyone possibly thinking about injector upgrades but think they will do it later and should get a good price because they know someone in the trade or have trade contacts.......... This price is well below the trade price
25. way to big for N/A 6 and yes he means edit with custom tuning to scale the injectors correctly.
