  1. Hey Clem In the trade protex are normally seen as a cheap alternative, although some workshops like to fit cheap parts to their customers cars, if given a choice I like to stick to brands like DBA etc, but you should match your brakes to your driving habits etc
  2. It should not affect life of the engine as it is not damaging like vapour lpg can be due to higher combustion temps. Liquid LPG injection actually has colder combustion temps which is why it is more powerful than petrol. The Gov rebate has dropped to $1750
  3. Grapevine has it, he has now run an 11.08 @124.7 mph, well done Paul
  4. Good comment. I have done a quick sticky in our section and will complete it a bit later
  5. water will boil at a lower temp without coolant in it

    Flash Box Q

you are best off talking to your tuner $150 is pretty common to unlock and supply generics, but your tuner may unlock it for free if doing a custom tune, if you are nice to him. the box can be used on up to 5 cars providing it gets returned to stock and unlocked as it goes, after the 5th vehicle it has to go back to SCT to be rest, but that would probably cost more than a new box
  7. I'm happy to be proved wrong, but I believe there is no cooling off period on private purchases

you do not need to go back to capa, your tuner can unlock it for if it has been returned back to stock. No one can unlock it if it hasn't been returned back to stock there is no way of telling until you go to get it unlocked whether or not it has been returned back to standard unless you witness them do it.
  9. rim size does not affect speedo readings or gearing, it is the tyre diameter that affects them
  10. Tyre wear will also affect all the things you have listed also
  11. have you checked your processor code yet? will make it quicker for us and you if I can pre write some things
  12. your welcome to hang around, it's just it can get rather boring sitting in a small office for that period of time.
  13. The car does not produce more power. Some dynos rely on the air intake probe sensor reading to give a atmoshperic correction factor, by placing this temp sensor in a hotter spot, the dyno will make a different correction factor.
  14. Not if your car is stock or turbo tuned in closed loop, as the ECU will adjust the wastegate actuator to try to get the correct boost level in the manifold.
  15. Not trying to claim one brand is better than the other, so don't try to read that in my words. Mainline allow you to use different ramp rates, they should be suited to the acceleration rate of the car. Having 1 mode for all Forced induction 6 cylinders is probably not ideal as a stock T will accelerate a lot slower than say a 450 rwkw T, so to use the same ramp rate is probably not ideal. Mainline also does not need an intake air probe to get readings, it uses an inbuilt weather station to make it's atmosphere correction adjustments, so as far as I know the only way to cheat on one is to tie down a car extremely hard and then let it get loose. I may be wrong on the cheat thing, I try to keep as consistant as I can
  16. No mate Mainline do not use shoot out modes
  17. Only on dyno dynamic dyno's
  18. Castrol website guide does not list an oil for the 6 speed, it says to refer to dealer
  19. It is possible that the pollen filter can trap leaf matter etc, which can decay. Air con evaporators are notorious for trapping smells, ie from smoking etc and there are are air con deodorizers as mentioned.
  20. hey Ben has your pollen filter been changed?
  21. Due to running higher boost, your turbo housing will most likely be cracked to that bolt hole and a new bolt, once installed will continue to come loose so it will require constant attention to stop it from falling out again.
  22. A couple of members here are using these due to cracks in their original housings being cracked, these FG housing are supposed to be a higher nickel content and are a little more resistant to cracking and yes they do end up with a decent size wastegate when ported
  23. Welcome to yesterday
  24. sorry mate, no far from it, ideal for someone who doesn't want a loud system
  25. Drove in a car fitted with one of these systems 2 weeks back, if your after a loud or droning system, this is not for you.
