  1. you are spoilt for choice in Vic, there are some good tuners, but be careful taking advice, most will tell you that their tuner is the best, but you only have to look around a bit deeper and then see the same person asking questions about problems that they are having with their cars. On the other side, there are people that will post recommending a shop that have had absolutely no dealings with that shop and are most likely not educated enough to even know a good tune or a bad tune, so it makes it a little hard picking a tuner. Your best bet is doing some reading, making some calls and see who is listening to what you want from your car and prepared to deliver what you want, not what they want. Don't be put off if they need to correct any preconceived ideas you may have already formed based on possible incorrect information you may have received elsewhere, as the internet is full of information from some that have a high opinion of their knowledge. Merry Christmas everyone.
  2. if tuned in closed loop, you can adjust boost to what ever number mechanically possible at any rpm and any IAT temp setting, why you would I have no idea, but yes you can control different boost at different temps, but if tuned in open loop the boost will change according to gear used, IAT, turbo housing temp, timing changes etc
  3. and it can also be tuned to vary with intake temperature
  4. Would love to see some sheets showing boost and rpm on some of these turbos
  5. precisions appear to be a cheap copy from my information, copies are not normally as good but time will tell
  6. ceramic bearings are highly desired in some circles
  7. there are torsion bars available to go onto an impact gun, the air pressure needs to remain consistent and when the gun is adjusted they can tension correctly
  8. boost pressure does change with temperature which is why I asked was it tuned in closed loop which will normally try to keep things constant, have you checked for boost leaks though?
  9. Tunehouse is very thorough with what they do and could give a good second opinion but some people in this trade love to put down what others have done before them so you need to be careful who you listen to, I do not think Jim is like this, but they do have a hub dyno so numbers are normally a little higher
  10. Your boost has dropped, was it tuned in close loop?
  11. The main thing is that people need to be aware if the legality side of things
  12. the radiator support panel main brace needs to be cut off
  13. Not all small turbo cars will make 320, the stepped cooler is normally fine for the power you are chasing but yes a full cooler will work better but require cutting the car to fit one which you have stated you do not want to do. A full exhaust can help max out the small turbo at lower boost rather than pumping in 15-18 psi which is what many do
  14. If you are chasing power, get a cooler that works better than what you have got now
  15. The cars I know of we're not sct related
  16. We can supply replacement thermostats if required. I'm sorry you were not happy with my staff members answers but I have told my staff not to disclose our suppliers etc, no matter how small the part is
  17. can you afford to fix it if the engine breaks?
  18. we charge $599 for BF and FG rear diff bushes

Thanks mate, I believe it was the .82 rear housing, (owner did the mechanical work himself) This car exceeded the torque limit of our dyno, so we ran it in 5th but at a ramp rate to match a 4th gear run.
  20. we fitted a second hand ecu and wiring harness and returned a stock F6 tune into it and have had no issues since, our local dealership knew of another local tuner that had similar issues on another FG being tuned

some are claiming the 6466 spools as quick as the small GTX or BW, this 6266 is close but still a little behind so not sure how the 6466 would respond
