  1. The logo is painted on... No sticker.....
  2. The picture is of the rear calipers. I will be collecting the 4 pot fronts , on the way home tomorrow..
  3. Back on topic... I recently had my calipers painted. I removed the brackets and pad retainer. Then bead blasted all of the genuine coating off. The base colour (black) was painted first. Then I had brembo negative stickers made (brembo lettering cut out of a 10cm square vinyl). We then attached it to the caliper, masked the remaindet of the caliper and painted the logo. The results speak for themselves....
  4. Btw, my tailshaft (above) is a Mal Wood unit. The rubber cv has been removed and replace with a universal. Here is a pic of the centre bearing.

The GTX55 is for another build.. I have a few things to finalise on tje black car first though... We welding on the new EGT fittings onto the exhaust manifold, and we're currently waiting for it and the two 4202 exhaust housings to return from ceramic coating.. Once here, the new box, clutch, tailshaft and egt's will be installed. I'm currently looking into making a new top for the KPM 1500hp fuel module, so that I can run two terminal banks and stage the pumps.. We're apprensive of them being capable of getting to 1000hp, so I might run a boostet or change pumps. Indeed it will be. It will likely be managed by an Elite 2500.. I also collected the rear calipers the other day. I blasted them and has my paint guy weave some magic on them. The fronts should be back soon also...

Picked this up yesterday... It's a bloody serious piece of gear.... 0.90 housing for the GTX55 arrived while I was at work... Still trying to decide on whether to destroke the new engine or not....
  7. I've only ever had Option 3, 5 and 6 Mal Wood clutches. Each has been reliable and a pleasure to drive. I highly recommend Mal's equipment.
  8. We installed an AU power steering fitting in the bottom line of my pump. We drilled an tapped the top line to suit a -10 blanking bung and drilled the centre of it out to suit a banjo fitting and fitted and o'ring behind it.... make sure that you use a bigger feed line than I did, and make sure that the return line enters the resevoir below the resevoir fluid line. Otherwise, you will have cavitation issues..... Modify you lines by silver soldering on some weld on fitting. make sure that you sufficiently counter sink where the pipe enters the fitting.
  9. That is disgraceful. What does it look like inside the housing? This is how I did mine...
  10. Check the flywheel thickness against the shank depth on the ARP bolts.

I have no doubt that it will be a complex task. A Haltech Elite will be used to manage the injection and should be up to the task. . The Harrop angled dizzy will be replaced with a cam position sensor etc.

Die to the sale of my Clevo falling through, I have decided to shelve the new Barra engine, 4L80E and gtx55. Instead, I have just purchased a set or Higgins CHI heads. This will allow me to fit the ITB setup that I had originally planned to run. Fun times ahead..... A pics of the intake on it's original Glenn Seton V8SC engine.
  13. Make sure that you get some datum points from the original diff centre position BEFORE you remove the centre from the IRS frame. Eg: Run a straight edge along the flat section of the bearing crush adjuster and mark it on the frame. This will ensure the correct alignment of the centre...

Yeah, the Magnum and option 6 clutch are for the black car and it remain a manual. As previously mentioned, I am building a XF Ghia and that's where I will be utilising the GTX5533. Magnum should be installed next weekend. With final tuning not long after.
  15. Garretts really like 35-40 psi. That's where they're most efficient. With very limited tuning, my 4202 is seeing positive pressure at 2200rpm. I never wanted hp records, but built the car to be powerful, yet have good street manners and drivability. That's where the 42 excels....
  16. I'm with Aaron. You can never have to much power. Many will argue the fact that is worthless if you can't get out to the ground. Like anything with big torque, it's all about throttle modulation. Nothing wrong with 160 km/h power skids.....

  18. Spiro's old car will live again, very soon. I've started working on my car again also. So, thete will be a few more additions to the list.
  19. I'm chasing a favour from somene that lives or works in the Blacktown area of Sydney. I need someone to inspect a part for me before I purchase it. Willing to pay beer money for your efforts.
