In the last 2 months I was trying to sell my ute private via carsales.com.au I had price on it as 32.5 to get 30k+. Month after I had it reduce to 31.5. All I had is few calls and no Visitors. Then I dropped it to 30k. In mean time I was visiting mazda dealers as I wanted to buy new mazda3 with luxery pack. One of the mazda dealers were offering me 25k for the ute. I sorta go put off by that and didnt look anymore. 2 weeks later I went to another mazda dealer, asking for the same car and they were giving 28 for the ute but jacked their mazda to 35 as the previous dealer had it for 34. Then 2 weeks later I heard on radio that one of the mazda dealers were having "special deals" on labour day weekend. I went there and I was dealing with the sales person for at least an hour and half, and I managed to get 32 for my ute and had to pay 1k more on top of it for the brand new mazda 3sp23 with carpet mats and luxery pack which included full leather trim, premium sound, TC, and shadow chrome wheels and door handles. I took that offer straight away. Moral of the story is if you want to trade dont go to one dealer visit few dealers and have your prices ready in your head. Make sure you prove to them that you are serious and would do business same day if you make a deal that you would like. that's my 2 cents. Russ
