  1. Spiko, that's pretty much the only place to put an external gate on a stock FG manifold, whilst keeping it stealth and down low in the engine bay... you can get a good feed off the stock manifold as it is a pretty good design (unlike BAs log of horror)with a kind of 3 into 2, no real merger, but a section that is usable, but if they go straight off it and down, as in a sharp 90degree hit, low level psi would be hard to control, making a hard spike early on which this doesnt sound to have... I'd say the spring is too soft. I know this from spending alot of time with trial and erroring, to get a GT4594R to spool well enough off a stock FG manifold. Yes its far from ideal, but it IS a solution to the boost spike problems we are getting from big breathing FGs. Who ever fabricated this has the right idea for this aplication.... just picked the wrong spring. Cheers Chris
  2. that's pretty much the same position I have mine, right down next to the sump, the distance doesnt make any difference, but the angle of entry into that pipe where it joins the manifold does... to sharp and angle ( say like 90deg) will cause issues. I'd be looking at the spring rate... Tial sell a good range of spring rates, so you'll be able to get one around 15psi which is what you want IF your running over 15psi, of which it looks like you are.
  3. Yeah that's true, if the entry angle is too sharp alot of the gasses can be bypassed, but that usually causes boost increase, not slow to rise boost.
  4. I'd say the spring is too soft so its slowly opening befor it should... what psi is the spring? I have an external gate on my g6et and at first used a 5psi spring which made it quiet laggy down low, 9psi in it now and its low power picked up alot. (it has a much bigger turbo though, but still the same theory)
  5. Elates are very nice... should be in my HT not your car doors lol
  6. Nice system mate, similar to what I had in the BA, but 2 JL 12s, cadence mids, Audax tweeters, powered like yours
  7. Yep, but that's when new... 8 years on its most likely to be clogging up inside.
  8. Yeah, dollar for dollar it would work out cheapest for the DIYer to use the stock ford pcm & wiring... its not too hard to follow a loom and figure out which wires and sensors go where. Then once your done, use the stock tune to get it up and running... then do the finaly edit tuning when its all sorted.
  9. Is it plugged in or just conecting via bluetoof... maybe re-boot the iphone? Mine goes into spastic mode occasionally, a reboot usually brings it back to normal. The aux input is alot stronger volume wise, but must be unplugged from the power, which isnt too good as it goes flat faster. iphones...
  10. When you get a new pipe made to replace the f]lexy hose, have a bov fitting welded to it and mount the bov there, then a short return hose into the intake. Is the intake fully sealed? make sure it is or you'll suck crap into the turbo, and they dont like that.
  11. Also basic hose to fitting issues... If you fit one, you have to take your time, make sure the hose conections are a perfect join, wiring joins have to be solid ect.
  12. 32k on mine, so huge improvement over BA, but mines a one legger so its very smooth.
  13. Yes, a good 4inch system all the way will do it. The less restrictions the more it will flow, but this will come down to how much noise you like to put up with.

    Fg F6 Tune

LOL yeah... FG's have a good head start for the modder.
  15. Great pics mate

    Fg F6 Tune

    Yeah easy 300 with a tune... cooler/pipes, dump & cat you'll see another 40odd
  17. Yep. Too wide of a tyre adds alot of sidewall flex, which adds to body roll, poor cornering. I ran a 265 on 8.5inch rim on the track (circuit), had to run them very hard to get good corner grip, no good for the street as they were too hard (50+)
  18. Geez that's got some goodies on it mate, nice pick up. A mate of mine bought one a few years ago with an AVO turbo kit, had a dodgy 5th injector set-up so it was faily old school lol I've always thought of getting one as a track car, but alas I'm too big to fit in one lol
  19. Nice one Alf, that car has badly needed those tyres... big power & traction in second will make you smile lol
  20. Are you sure the turbo is gone? Its not just a intercooler pipe come off?

    Fg Xr6T 567Rwk

Wickid build up guys, well done... great to see some more tough FG's hitting the streets.
  22. Yeah the seats drop down alot lower than BA BF
  23. Just get it powder coated... they'll acid dip it and have it looking hot. theres some really nice finishes available.
  24. Do you have the spec on it? As mentioned above, full boost at 4500... have you built the motor to spin higher? Theres not much power band there for a stock motor. As an example... My G6 has a 70.3mm ind, 94mm exd, 0.60AR cover and 82mm turb wheel,84trim with a 1.01AR... sees full boost at 3500, strong over 6250 rated at 1100hp in this combination, I'd love to rev it to 7500 lol.
