  1. Dills, you just have to drive a serious turbo falcon to know, not many cars want to run you anymore
  2. What guages are they? brand? somethings been fitted up wrong by the sounds of it.
  3. Well done, great to see more FG's running tens
  4. Yeah mate stock 18s and a ride height lift... that was my wife driving, I might have been having a sleep in the car lol, I didnt see you.
  5. we can do them ba bf fg but only inhouse, custom made to suit each individual car and driver.
  6. I just want to try out a few more changes and should be happy with a system. Send me an email for more info mate. chris@rapidsystems.com.au
  7. If you want to reduce noise levels I would look at the mufflers in the system, and find the biggest, highest quality quiet muffler that can fit. We are currently working on a "super quiet" system on my FG, and testing different mufflers to keep the noise down below standard, I've found that different dump pipes and cats dont really make a huge difference in noise level once the stock ones have been replaced, but yes 2 smaller cats will reduce some noise. Once we've sorted this system out on my FG, I'll be able to offer a quiet, high flowing exhaust system, but these will be made on each car.
  8. Atleast put some sort of airbox or cover over it so you don't get defected
  9. 30kw loss, so yeah, 380odd from 19psi is pretty much the norm, though with a better exhaust you should max the turbo at 400wkw (650hp @ fly) less 30 for the convertor and your at 370 which is enough for a ten if set up for it. What dump is on it?
  10. Yeah that does look rank mate, I like!
  11. So you dropped the exhaust and boost went up, did power increase?? If it gained power then you know the restriction is after the dumps flange, ie cat or further back is it an old/used APS system or new? We all know its common for cats to fail and cause restictions. A crappy/poor job on the wasetagate will cause over boost, as Mick pointed out. But atleast you've got a bit of paper and driving it... must say its been entertaining for alot of us with the antics... maybe not for those directly involved though.
  12. Congrats mate, baby seat for the cruises now?
  13. I have 295/30 on the rear of mine.... fits juuust
  14. I have direct bolt in race cats for FG on their way, around 6 weeks away though.
  15. If you sticking with the stock XR6/G6 turbo, the 4inch dump & cat will let you max out the stock turbo pretty easy as the rest of the factory system flows enough o support mid 300s. But if low-mid 300s arn't enough for you, and your thinking of upgrading the turbo ( F6 unit or rebuild ect ) the full 3.5inch system will be a good move as it will support over 400. The 3.5inch system sounds nice and is much quieter than the 4inch system, if your tossing up between them still.
  16. Generally speaking, a 5inch 100cell cat will flow more than a hollow stock cat due to the twin 2.25 outlets on the cat, so if you were to replace this section with a 5inch body cat, and re-do the merge section from cat to twin 2.5, it should make more power.
  17. Yep the LA - Vegas run is great, as are alot of the Hyways in Cali... flow of traffic was usually 80mph and the cops didnt seem to concerned. Its great that Mark has made these comments/ideas public, hopefully he may open some minds and prompt Gov to invest in some research.
  18. Wife and I were at the apple shop shop yesterday, that joint is like a real life "big bang theory" loads of chics and nerds in purple lol, but after a bit of a poke around on the iPad, I decided that, yes it is just a big iphone, and a good size too. Like alot of us, I'm online all day, be it on pc in my work office, pc at my home office, iphone in the car or out somewhere, or sitting here on the couch on my laptop... I can see the ipad being great for doing what Im doing now, checking emails and poking around the forums... Ipad is alot easier to use than this laptop, for the basics it needs to be used for. At $629, its a cheap alternative to a laptop, but obviously isnt a replacement for one... I reckon they are worth having. Judging by the amount of Ipads they had in the shop, online and ready for everyone to have a play with, these thing will be huge.
  19. Looks awesome mate, very nice and different.
  20. Yeah, it was more a liability thing if there was a nasty rear ender or something.
  21. Looks good, same style we used to make back in 06, but the rear mount kind of gave me the heebie jeebies so we stopped selling them for road cars lol... they work well though.
  22. Plenty of cars have run well over 300 with stock actuator, it all depends on the other mods the car has... a restrictive intake/IC system cause the turbo to work alot harder to make higher boost, therefor adding to the pressure on the actuator and making it reduce boost in the higher rpm... this can be overcome by fitting a stronger (higher psi) actuator, but usually will spike boost in the mid-range, so its usually a good idea to enlarge the wastegate port when doing the actuator, as they really work hand in hand. Also as the kays and age on a car get on, actuator will become weak in its spring rate, therefor not holding strong boost like it used too. Never fit an upgraded actuator without getting the car on a dyno to check the tune.
  23. Good idea to swap the pump when you do injectors, or if the car is getting high in kays. A perfectly operation stock pump "can" support low 300s, but if your cars getting a little older then the pump may not be producing the same flow as it did when new... so cheap insurance to fit a new high flow pump. Also the power supply to the pump has a huge effect on the pumps flow, so if your battery/charging system is getting tired and not producing the full amps/volts, it could be pumping alot less than it should, in turn not supporting as much power. ...and dont forget the main fuel filter, if dirty and old it can greatly restrict fuel flow... this is the same with the intank "sock" filter, they get dirty and clogged with age too.
  24. It's torque and power delivery that dictates how the tyres will grip, not max kws. as an example, a car with a stock/small turbo making low 300wkws but pushing high boost up early in the rev range, will make alot of torque quickly, low in the rpm range, most street tyres, within reason, will struggle to grip and once they spin, the funs over. A car with a much bigger turbo (42, 45 blah blah) wont produce the same instant torque, so "can" have a better chance to grip... sure you cant expect much grip once 25+psi is pushing into the motor, but it can be easier to control if the power delivery isnt too aggressive. On my own G6et, with 300wkws from the stock turbo it would spin 1st 2nd 3rd... with the much bigger GT45 turbo fitted, and still making 300wkws (alot less boost) traction was greatly improved, to the point where it would spin in first and slightly into second, but alot easier to reduce spin with the throttle. So its hard to say tyre A will perform better than tyre B on various cars... I really woundn't use any tyre that's not a stree-semislick with over 400wkws, front and rear.
  25. You like the ebc?
