  1. We currently run 11 lines, but would like to be able to expand on that when needed. ← What sort of phone lines are they? If you running Basic Rate ISDN or simple PSTN lines then you would be much better going for a 20 line Primary Rate ISDN service
  2. With this system you dont have to reply on VOIP as your main lines you can just uses it to access cheap calls out. You can use any comms company to install Basic rate ISDN lines for you 1 line carries 2 channels or if you need alot the a Primary Rate ISND that can cary 10 20 or 30 out going lines Also the system can plug into your regular PSTN line so if you do use only voip. If the voip goes down(or the net connection) you can divert calls to your PSTN service and you wont miss out on anything But if your a big business Primary Rate ISDN is the way to go Get a block of 100 numbers and 10 - 30 lines and away you go. How many active external lines would you need?
  3. this system will run through other providers like telstra optus and any other major company that offers an ISDN service. The voip provider side of things is more for the smaller business that is really concerned with price. also these voip providers are usefully also for offering trunk out services oversea to cut alot of call costs The idea of my system is the client sits down with me we design how the system will function I come back install the system and they dont need to touch anything else. They can be taught to use the very simple interface to add more extensions or make small changes other wise they pay for me to do it some people using the current systems installed wouldnt know it was different than any other system
  4. Nope would never this of using asterisk@Home. Asterisk V1.4 and everything else done by my self. Currently doing testing for a new Engin server aimed at Businessed. 50-100 number range and 10+ Trunks. Working very well so far. Only problem is it needs a pritty stable Net connection. Only quality problems I have is my home router is crap and experiances packet loss if I dont reset it every few days. Feel free to call 0290869201 if I dont answer it will go to voice mail see what the quality is like. I need some guinnie cops Oh and for the people that dont like the idea of Voip remember that most of the world telephone infrustructure is now voip with only the last miloe being your traditional; coper network. Telstra is also converting all there traditional branch exchanges to ip based switches Yes it would be a very good idea to time stamp all changes so configurations can be rolled back at any time to any point in the PBX's history
  5. Configuration is no problem im designing an interface that does all the dirty work for you. Planning on allowing the user to creat dial plans using a click and drag interface
  6. Yes it is Asterisk and at work we have done some major phone systems. Asterisk is suitable for even the largest businesses. My system does use a voip provider and this is to save costs. 30k seams like a lot of money. If you didnt like the quality of voip gate way then you can connect it up to pstn Basic and Primary Rate ISDN lines. Basicly it can cost as low as 1/5 of a traditional system with better features and lower running costs. If you only have 1 network port at each work station that's fine the phone have a repeator so your PC plugs into the phone.
  7. Just doing alittle research on a small project of mine. What would you guys in small - medium sized businesses pay for a new phone system? Im developing one atm tell me what you think. It plugs directly into your current computer network so no need for any extra wiring. hand sets can cost aslittle as $140 or you can use software phones. You only need 1 phone line With a good fast ADSL account you can get 50 phone numbers with 10 trunks for external calls The Main phone system its self costs under $1000 and it is fully customisable. You can link different site together so all calls between sites are free. Full customisable voice menu system Call groups can have call que's voice mail basically any feature you want can be added and if it dosnt exist it can be made 10c untimes calls to anywhere in australia. Does this sound like something that could compete with the current phone systems avalible in australia?
  8. Twin turbos have a place with the v engines with an inline 6 it would be a waste of money for them to even think about it

  13. Any one know a good repairer near the cbd to take my car to?
  14. Exactly cards are Hardware and cost alot of money. Software change to support the new standard is easy as installing Vista. You cant make a dx9 card run dx10 software. Buy your hardware to support new software standards as they come out not the other way around will stop you having a pile of old hardware laying around
  15. dont buy an expensive video card yet wait until the mid range geforce 8000 series cards come out dx10 is out now no point spending good money on a dx9 card
  16. Nah bumper has chunks out of it and is pushed in abit also clips are broken. Not to mention im fussy about my car so I wont let them just respray it
