  1. We hear many stories where people get bad batches of fuel or independent studies showing fuel is not what it seems, so who do we have actually keeping these guys honest?? Is there a body that does random checks and minimizes the risk to the consumer? Oil companies refine this fuel to correct levels, but Ive heard that hi octane fuel goes off quicker than standard fuel. I would be interested to know how long it takes fuel to degrade and how long it takes typically to get to the servo? Anyone have any idea?
  2. I have only eve used BP ultimate in my car so that is why I was thinking it was the tune more than the fuel itself. Maybe its not just the right foot that causes such variation in the economy of these cars then. If there is so much variance in the T between runin mode and normal for AFRs, maybe this is another thing to keep an eye on when you get it serviced? Do ford usually check this?
  3. So Habbib how old was your car when you put it on the dyno? Im just curious to know if in runin mode it starts around 9s then moves to 11s and 12s as Xtreme F6 has seen as it gets more kms? Can anyone confirm this?
  4. Thanks for the replies guys, so how come there is so much variance in the settings of these cars? I undestand that tolerances make all these cars behave differently but from 10s to 12s seems like a lot. Doesnt the computer have a fixed limit and then try to maintain this? As for the soot appearing on the bumper I cant tell because mines black, but I can only assume looking at the exhaust that I have this problem as well. I did ask the dealer about this at the 3000 service and he also said that the computer has a runin mode but I thought that was BS... maybe not??
  5. Hi guys, First of all just have to thank all you guys for providing such an informative site for the XR6T, was very reassuring to find such a positive site after forking out the hard earned!! Anyway have had the BF (manual, couldnt convince myself on the auto) for about 5 months and it flys, but ive noticed that there is a lot of soot forming on the exhaust. My previous car was turbo and never had the soot at all after 4 years of driving and after five months I can hardly see the tip?? Is this because its running rich (my mechanical knowledge is basic at best if im way off) and its normal to produce this much soot? I have always run it on BP ultimate, does the T utilize this fuel properly or should I just go to 95ron? Being EuroIII compliant I would of thought these cars would be producing very limited amounts of soot, or am I just being altogether paranoid...? Cheers
