  1. Im gonna call your bluff. Youre marginally interested in an XR6T but I think your main motivation in your post is to show off those 2 pics, you obviously went to the trouble of finding them and saving them and making this post. I think youre posting here out of jealousy for the XR6T's power. But the main motivation in your post is to bring down the mighty 'T' (as we call it). I am totally happy with my XR6T. You like Subes, fine, stick with em old chap and go back to ya Suby forums where u will enjoy yourself. see ya in your old unremarkable WRX! ← Err I dont know what drugs u r on as I dont really see the point of l calling someones bluff. I dont know what you mean by jealousy of an xr6 t as im nearly 40 and no time for crap like that. Im also not biased with my cars or any cars as I dont care what type of car someone drives as long as they have done all the right things and taken care of them. The only XR6t I have driven was AVO's in which they gave me for a day and I was totally impressed but it wasnt stock. Im looking at an xr6t as my settle down car and so I can also throw my golf clubs in the back with a bigger boot and just a newer car as well. In regards to power, power isnt always everything, as in my opinion the xr6 is a pig when it comes to weight but does have a nice feel when driving for a heavy car. Off the mark the xr would kill my rex, where as the rex would eat an xr around any twisty roads but Im over that caper a long time ago and actually like to drive a car around corners and nice country roads. As for Fords I have already owned 5 fords so not sure what u mean by jealous of a Ford. Sorry to all others re the pics if it offends everyone, so much as I didnt know it has been put up a million times as there was a valid point with the LS1 issue I forgot about. But If im going to do this I will be going over every aspect of what I can to find out about these cars and do my home work properly. From what I can see with a little tweaking and what not will prob add up to about 6-9k
  2. Also Ive read the threads with peoples cars making a fluttering sound in the manuals.... Do the autos make this fluttering sound as well?? But mainly concerned with reading about loose turbo and manifold bolts, dodgy discs as well.. Ive had my rex for over 10 years without any dramas and dont wanna be caught out buying a headache that ends up like an episode from the money pit..
  3. I have an My 94 rex that has 240 kw at the flywheel and has original 235,000 kms, still on the original donk.... Have had if for 12 years and dont rev the sh*t out of it and just use the torque curve, constant servicing and belt changes, and you shouldnt have a drama.. Im waiting to pay off our other home car (4wd) so I can then upgrade to a t as a settle down car, with a phase 2 kit and see how these cars go with some kays on em. Should be interesting to see how many kays people are gonna get from modded t's. How many kays are people getting fromba tank with 350 - 370 kw at the flywheel?

I work in Security and in the area, so I have been going past at night to keep an eye on things whilst in the area.
  5. Thanks for that, Im a bit of an old fart(not that old) myself and would prefer manual, but these new fang dang autos seem pretty good as well. See how we go.. Im not after big numbers as its just gonna be an every dayer and also so I can throw my golf clubs and buggie in the boot as well. The xr is a very different car to the wrx but I still love the wrex. Its not made for launch take offs as I never dump it... winding roads see ya later and dirt/muddy roads mmmmm.(not afraid to get it dirty...amazing what a gernie can clean) Just time for a change. Original donk 235,000 kms with 172kw at all fours isnt too bad I reckon. Going to get some zeds just finished 12 hr night shift and do it again in 12 hrs.
  6. So far sounds pretty good, but am a bit concerned about people with hoses and clamps coming off and turbo bolts loose and also other clunks. Hope that's not across the board. Those getting 320kw with just the edit and no exhaust sounds good. But I would like to know if the exhausts are quiet. Theres a nice motor in there I would like to hear. Apart from that all sounds pretty good so far .
  7. Just wanna start off by saying G'day. I currently own a 94 wrx and have had it since new, Looking at getting an xr6 turbo in the near future and getting peoples thoughts. Have been looking at the performance packages from various tuners and was interested in The Horsepower Factory Packages. I liked the Stage 1 320kw at the flywheel which I think is very good for every day and also an exhuast, gotta hear the motor. Question are there many people out there with this type of mod or even modded by HPF? Also how many kays a tank are people getting from stock set up and lightly modded xr6t's? No reliablilty problems? Auto better? Prefer manual but concerned about box strenghth or should be ok? Thanks
