  2. Cheers mate ill try that
  3. Just had an idea. Im thinking magnets. If I can get some really strong magnets, put two or so of them under the metal backing and put the opposites in the bottom of the toolbox, the magnets should be able to penetrate through the plastic tubliner and still have a strong attraction to eachother. Ill let you know how I go. any critism is welcome. Jet
  4. Yeah, I already have some slip proof rubber I brought from clark rubbey last week, it works but I dont think that will do the job alone. I tried tiedowns from the handles of the toolbox to the tie down points (this is along the backside near the tailgate). It stops 80% of movement, but it still moves a bit. When I tighten the tiedowns to stop the movement it lifts the toolbox up so my toolbox hits against the hardlid as the toolbox's handles are lower than the tie down points, which are right at the top of the tubliner (seems a stupid place to put them) I dont know, anyone tried rivets or something similar? Jet
  5. Hi Guys, Just sold my Turbo sedan and now have a 05 XR8 ute, mainly for work purposes. I brought a big toolbox that goes accross the back of my ute right near the tailgate for easy access. It sits about 10mm under my hard lid. Anyway I was looking at the tub floor and it appears that there is no metal backing under the rather thin plastic tray. I was going to bolt it down but dont think it will be strong enough to hold the weight of the box and stop it slipping around. I also need to do this so I can remove the toolbox every so often for holidays etc. This is why I was thinking bolts as they are easily undone. Any help would be appreciated. Rgds, Jet.
  6. Yeah, dont no how you can give this cooler a bad report ? I run 330rwkw with standard plumbing and have had no issues AT ALL. I also had it installed in the VIC summer which saw 35+ degree days .... NO heatsoak to report I would say if plumbing was changed this cooler would be good for 380rwkw. Best bang for your buck cooler, and comes heavily recommended by ALOT of ppl Jet
  7. Doesnt look too bad..... Although this is just another more expensive sports sadan that I will be hunting down & destroying ..... lastest casualty - VE GTS box It hurts me to embarrass these guys, especially when there wives are in the passenger seat Im guessing it will be in the same pricing bractet as the F6, perhaps a tad under. Jet.
  8. very achieveable Im in the 1st stages of doing something similar! Jet
  9. Not necessary unless you are aiming higher than 340 - 350 rwkw with a good tune. I have run stock pistons with 343 rwkw and no problems, they only started to suffer after I pushed it to 360 rwkw, and then not even dramatically, just have a broken ring land or piston ring, but obviously need to be fixed. ← Agreed, but allot of the time people wouldnt bother changing the rods unless they were going 340rwkw +, if your not planning to go over this power level the standard rods will not need to be replaced. Jet
  10. While its out you might aswell go a set of forgies aswell Jet
  11. Yeah, fitment in vic... Should be pretty easy to do yourself, if you have done that kind of thing in the past. Jet
  12. Looks like you will need to buy the PS2 adaptor, although it doesnt say any thing specifically about the PS2, just Xbox ..... I imagine they would be the same. $720 for kit $800 kit + fitted Although it states the fact that the DVD DOES NOT operate while the car is moving, this would be easy enough to get around. Simply disrupt your handbrake sensor so the car thinks its always on, when it really isnt Just be prepared for the handbrake light to be on all the time... Question; how the fark do you drive & play PS2 at the same time ?? Jet

    I have one suggestion ...... a T ! Jet

Firstly . If you ever need any info on your T this is the place to come Seems right on the money for an 05 T, hope you enjoy your new toy Jet
  16. Wax a black car one day and the next day it turns to again What do they say? "once you've had black you'll never go back"
  17. Well, there goes that ...hhmmmmm The wog will no, let us no how you go with him. R u sure you reflashed it correctly after this happened???
  18. Do you have a manual and were you playing arouind with it before this happened? If you have a manual and perhaps revved the engine out excessively, the car will often shut itself off, even when your still driving it. This also happened to me. It didnt start immediately after this happened and when it did, its idle quality was that of a V8 equiped with a massive solid cam! As soon as I got it home, I re-flashed it and it was fine..
  19. Sounds like the blender on my kitchen bench
  20. Thanks for the link It appears no one is using them yet as they are new to the T world. He did comment that 2 engines will be using them after their rebuilds are complete which should be within the month. I might weight this one out for results.. If all goes well I might try to organise a group buy for these on this site Jet
  21. Im looking at buying a set of conrods for my T in the near future. While on Ebay today I came across a add for the below rods, they sound alright, and there are good comments about these particular rods from his past customers but I just wanted to hear from the guys on this site before I jump in the deep end. I hope this lik works, Im sh!t on computers Ebay Turbo rods Thanks
  22. That sounds & looks like a very nicely setup car mate, well done What PSI are you running to make 397rwkw?? and are you running standard brakes with this setup?? VERY NICE
  23. Im getting the same noise with my T56, after my old clutch was replaced with a double plated version.. I think it might be b/c I didnt get the flywhell machined on installtion, but have been told its prolly the throwout bearing. Apparently its not doing any damage, and its holds so lets just hope the noise slowly goes away.
  24. Wow, some really cheap cars on there, but for some reason im not 100% convinced
  25. I ticked 350 cause im not that far away from that figure, but far enough to want more Dont know if the old BA will be up for that though, might be a bit past a reliable daily driver... Until she receives a makeover .....coming soon Jet
