  1. Able to elaborate on what the performance gain is? Does the .5" enable a wider tyre to be used or is the same size tyre just being stretched on?
  2. I'm curious, is there any reason why most of the aftermarket wheels for BA onwards Falcons use 8.5" wide front wheels rather than the 8" wide which Ford/FPV use? Is it a visual improvement thing or is there a performance benefit to it?
  3. For anyone that's interested, check out http://www.fordforums.com.au/showthread.php?p=5541837&posted=1#post5541837for some discussion on this.
  4. I'm asking this here because there is a large group of people who have been playing around with different wheels on their BA/BF utes and the AU trays are almost identical. I have been reading some of the old threads around about wheel offset and a few of them hint towards utes being able to have a lot less positive offset for their rear wheels. I have an AU Pusuit 250 ute which is fitted with Brembo 6 piston front brakes (BA/BF FPV style) and the PBR single piston rear brake setup (Territory rear). I am currently eyeing off the Rota Grid wheels and am looking to fit: Front - Rota Grid 18 x 8.5 +30 - should clear the Brembo's as I've seen a few members on here with this size. Rear - Rota Grid R 17 x 9 +25 or 17 x 9.5 +12 - now I know that 9" wide +25 is the safe fit, but 9.5" wide with +12 would look a lot tougher! Will these fit? Will they stick out too far? Being a P250 they have a factory mini tubbing job on the steel frame for the tray. I have raised my vehicle up and it is now sitting above standard XR height. By the way, I am aware that Grid < http://www.rotawheels.com.au/wheels/rota-grid#!prettyPhoto> and Grid R < http://www.rotawheels.com.au/wheels/rota-grid-r#!prettyPhoto > are two separate wheels, but they are very similar looking and I think with the staggered look the subtle difference will be fine and results in the wheel sizes that I want - I need 18" to clear the Brembo and would like 17" for the rear for ride comfort, load carrying and towing with the ute.
  5. Just found this old thread - http://www.fordxr6turbo.com/forum/topic/85875-brembo-caliper-torque/ - which answers my question: Brake hose to caliper - 23 - 26 Caliper bleed valves - 12 - 16 Brake caliper bolts (fixing caliper to bracket) - 105 - 125 Brake caliper assembly to spindle - 105 - 125
  6. Is anyone able to advise on the torque settings for the Brembo front calipers (preferably 6 piston if there is a difference) for AU/BA/BF (probably not FG as the caliper bracket is different and mounted the other way) model FTe/FPV Falcons (it's not listed in any of the service manuals I have - likely because they are aimed at the standard model Falcons)? Banjo bolt to caliper torque setting? Bleed nipple torque setting? Brembo caliper to bracket torque setting? Caliper bracket to hub torque setting?
  7. Happy Birthday twr7cx!

  8. Yeah, has to be a ute. The alternative is a Pursuit ute, but the F6 is looking the goods. Does anyone know with the seats being leather instead of Technik cloth, does that change the door trims to match too?
  9. Well, I'll definately consider both, but more likely will end up being a BA Mark II that's in my price range. I didn't realise that they all were manual, but that's a good thing, as I'm only looking for a manual vehicle.
  10. I'm currently looking at FPV F6 Tornado utes to purchase. I'm after some information as to what significant factory fitted options were available (e.g. not worried about minor things like the 'mobile phone presenter', so that I can identify these when I'm looking at different offerings for sale. Please correct me if I am wrong, but I believe they are the following: * Wheels - 19" instead of 18". * Front brakes - Brembo 6 piston caliper instead of 4 piston. * Prestige Interior Command Centre finished in satin alloy with Premium audio system, dual-zone climate control and TFT colour screen instead of the Interior Command Centre finished in satin alloy with Prestige audio system, dual climate control and LCD screen. * Roof Mounted Digital Clock. * Automatic climate control with dual-zone temperature control. * FPV Performance steering wheel. * Momo leather/aluminium gear knob. * Seats - leather instead of Technik cloth. * Chrome sports bars and hard tonneau cover.
  11. Anyone on here know if the flywheel on a BA T5 is the same as earlier Falcons with the T5? Or if they'll fit on to the SOHC donks?
  12. I've done some Googling, and it seems most brands have the centering springs, so now I've got no idea why GMM's product is $200 more than anyone else.
  13. I'm not sure what they mean by the spring action, but I assume it means that you really just push the shifter up from 2nd to 3rd (instead of up and accross). Which by your description the MWA also does this. I wonder if any of the other brands do too...
  14. Any chance of elaborating on that short answer? I'm assuming by no, that you are saying that "no the GMM RipShift is not the only 1 with the spring action 2nd to 3rd gear change" - so the other models also have this feature, they just don't specifically state it like GMM do?
  15. I've been looking at the short shifters avaliable. Just wondering if anyone can explain the difference between the GMM RipShift (http://www.ripshift.com/rip_home.html) and other models avaliable. Basically, the Pro 5.0, Steeda, B&M 45070, Billet Products models can all be had for around $300ish - these all have positive stop set up, and most come with a shortened shift handle (e.g. the B&M 45070 and the Steeda with the Tri-Ax handle). Then there's the RipShift which is $500.00, now the only difference I can see with it is that they claim it has a spring action for 2nd to 3rd gear change - is it the only model offering this feature? Anyone compared how it changes from 2nd to 3rd compared to other models?
  16. Anyone know the damage on an APS exhaust? There's no price on there website - http://www.airpowersystems.com/falcon/exhaust/exhaust.htm .
  17. cheers guys, I was asking on behalf of someone else, I don't even have a BA! :-)
  18. Anyone able to explain how to change the globe in the fog lamp? http://home.iprimus.com.au/loward/spottie.jpg
  19. Awsome, cheers guys!
  20. Anyone know what the headlight globes are in a BA XR6T? I'm under ythe impression that they are H4's for high and low beam and H7 in the second high beam housing - anyone able to confirm or deny? Anyone know what the fog lights are? Reason for asking is was going to send my brother some Narva Artic Blue globes for his birthday, obviously without having the car in the same state I can't check what they are...
  21. I don't know much abotu this, but my brother has a 2003 XR6T Mark 1 with T5. It has SS Induction, K&N filter and rear muffler removed and replaced with straight pipe, and he added the Hybrid intercooler kit (larger cooler and new piping), and no problems. Since then he added the 2nd CAI (Typhoon style). And now a flash tune, he ran the generic 8psi without any issues, but once he tried the generic 10psi at about 4,000rpm it was going funny and the revs would drop out, pulled out the Iridium spark plugs, and fitted some regapped NGK standard type's, Capa told him the part number and gap setting, and said it's fine now.
  22. Excellent, thanks buddy.
  23. Any chance of trying again this time using a defined measurement system? E.g. cm's, inchs, mm, meters, feet, what ever?
  24. This has probably been answered before, but I havn't been able to find it. Anyone able to inform me of the intercooler size of the factory Ford intercooler fitted to a 2003 BA XR6 Turbo? Are they Garret made/designed?
