Good Point! Thanks for the advice, I will try it your way and see if it makes a difference, its definetely louder with a pod. Thanks for the advice

that's basically what I have done. Its the same as Crans has done on this post http://www.fordxr6turbo.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=32557

Yes I am running a K&N filter on it Basically I blocked off the pipe at the back, and ran the other pipe into the blow off valve an vented the other back to atmosphere with a filter on the end of it and extended the vacuum pipe and re-connected it?? Confused
-
Gday guys, Just finished reverse venting my blow off valve like others have done but went for a drive and I can barely hear it, if hear it at all. I have put a filter on the end to keep at dirt out of it. Any ideas why I cant hear it?? Cheers

Gday guys, I have an issue with the drian back pipe from the turbo back to the sump leaking. Took it back to Ford and they tightened it.... next day, smoke burning from the the oil leaking onto the exhaust. Took it back again and the replaced the gaskets. Sure enough next day... guess what, still leaking. Im really stuck now as for some answers as what to do! Any advice from others experiencing the same problem would be greatly appreciated Cheers

Gday Guys, I removed the centre muffler the other day and now sometimes when when I accelerate, generally before I hit boost, I get a splutter like its either getting too much fuel or its starving of fuel. Either way I cant accelerate until I back off and try again. Doesnt do it all the time just every now and then. Im guessing that because I have removed the centre muffler it has less restriction. Iknow I have an overboost problem since I put the bigger cooler, K&N etc.. so would this problem be related to overboosting? Will an edit/tune fix the problem? Cheers
-
Hmm ok thanks. Can I ask a really dumb question? Who's the WOG??? Cheers
-
Ok, so does this mean that they are stuffed and need replacement asap or does it mean that until its tuned to suit the cooler better they will continue to get lazy under high load. I guess I need to know is the car ok to drive? Thanks guys appreciate the advice

Valve Springs! Great I cant understand though if it was valve springs, how a restart of the vehicle they would automatically come good and the car would run fine. Im still running standard boost pressure so didnt think they would be an issue. If they are U/S though how can I tell for sure if they have had it?? Ta
-
Ok thanks, yeah havent got an EDIT as yet, its been fine so far but obviously when you push it to the limit it doesnt like it. You know of any good tuners in Melb Ta

Gday guys, This morning I gave the old girl a bit of a spray as you do, when the power seemed to drop out! I dont think it was the fuel cutout but after the drop in power the car was running like a pig, I couldnt accelerate at all, felt like I was running on 5 cylinders. So I pulled over, into park (still running rough) switched the car off, popped the bonnet to make sure nothing had come off. All looked well so I re-started it and it was running fine, with perfect idle. Continued driving with no issues!!! I have considered the following: Its overfueled somehow? Its reached the point of overboost and has gone into limp mode (I think this one) Can anyone think of any other possible scenarios??? The only mods the car has is K&N Filter and Wog Cooler Cheers guys

Hey Guys, I have sold my XR6 17's of the sedan. Wil they fit a BA XT Ute. I remember hearing something a while ago abotu different offset on the rear??? Any assistance would be much appreciated
-
Ok guys, I drove the car today and can definetely notice a difference in the performance, it drove well and didnt notice any issues with it! I will be more content after its been up on the dyno and had the required adjustments made. Hopefully I should notice a noticeable difference. Next thing is exhaust and then I will stop there for a while haha

I've just fitted the wog cooler and are still a little confused as to whether I will ne a re-tune. Basically the way Im reading it is that to get the full benefit of the cooler you need an edit. If I dont get the edit will I do any damage to the car or will it possibly go into limp mode
-
Ok cheers Where do I get a retune done?? and how much is it worth? Im in Melbourne
-
Cool thanks for that! I did bend the bracket back and yeah they do sound more muffled, why is this?? I reckon a relocation further down the track is the better option

Hey guys, Just finished fitting the wog cooler, took me about three hours. One problem I had which I still didnt really resolve was the position of the horns?? Any feedback anout position of them etc would be good. It seemed to be a tight fit on the bottom left hand side, very close to a/c cooler. Is this normal? Also I have noticed some people saying that after getting the new cooler fitted, you will need an edit or retune the car otherwise it will lean, limp mode etc.. will I be able to drive it before the tune or should I get it tuned first?? I took it for a drive and it seemed ok. Is the tune needed straight away or is it mainly to acheive the full benefit of the bigger cooler Feedback appreciated

Hey guys! Just wondering if anyone can help, my XR6T is a series 1 BA 03 mdl with about 89,000km on the clock, Just recently I have experienced a rough idle in traffic and every now and then it will shudder like its going to stall, very noticeable you can feel the shudder through the brake pedal. Its only for about 2 seconds if that then the idle goes back to normal. You notice it more as you are pulling up and upon coming to a stop it will shudder a little then come good! Doesnt sound right to me and I want to hopefully pick it soon as the warranty runs out in bout 500km Any ideas or similar experiences???

Looks nice Jimmy! Thanks for the pics, gives me a good indication as to where its gonna sit! Cheers
-
Great thanks mate! Just out of interest how much did the springs set you back?? Cheers
-
Hey guys, The time has come to lower the old girl. just after some feedback from people who have lowered theirs? If you fit say Pedders lowered springs, do you have to change the shockers or are the standard XR6 ones adequate Ta

Gday guys, Just a quick one, I removed my airbox a couple of weeks ago to fit a pod filter. Basically it sounded awesome when boosting and backing off but I noticed considerable power loss! I guess there is no real good spot for positioning the pod. As someone mentioned previously they draw too much hot air from the engine and the air from the intake above the radiator just swirls around the pod rather than being forced in, I didnt think it would have such a considerable effect on performance, but hey you learn from your mistakes. Having the power outweighed the sound. So just a heads up for anyone who is considering fitting a pod filter, mount it somewhere where it will get forced cold air or forget about it and save the money. I have now re-fitted the airbox and replaced the standard panel filter with a K&N Panel filter - Big Difference!! They definetly work. The next challenge is to remove the induction from above the radiator and direct the feed to the airbox from underneath the headlight, apparently there is a considerable amount of air that passes under the headlight. Anyway just some food for thought! Cheers guys!
