like I have said before. they can go over seas with mining ventures. but the fact is that the resources are in australia and are here not over seas. And if you read the article I linked in a previous post, it talks about countries that have a higher tax rate and or a "high" tax rate and that has not affected their investment options. Not to mention the fact australia reaffirmed its AAA credit rating after the tax announcement. Sure the mining shares fell after the tax anouncement, but look for your self at the last month, even year of their stock prices of the majors for example RIO, BHP, Xtrata and you will see they have not suffered. As for new investment. It will come, the world does not have infinite supply of resources. Australia is very resource rich. It is on the door step to asia(major export market). Lets not forget what this tax is. It is a "super profit tax" if these companies are doing it hard and not making profits. they dont pay anything! Its all about sharing the profit. This money is going back to you and I. Not some greedy mining magnate.

well I dont think it is particularlly fair that a company that earns billions is "currently" paying 30 cents in the dollar tax. Whilst I earning 110,000 is paying 38 cents. If that were the case I would would want to be taxed at the same rate that people who earn under 20k earn. that's not fair. I dont mind paying my tax at that rate. Beacuse its fair and if they are earning billions more why should they be any different. not to mention these companies do not pay tax on fuel for there operations

this is all scare tatic. In my area we are still going ahead will multi billion(hunter valley) expansions. I cant speak for other areas but that is the case here. And yes I am sure that is the figure I sourced it from the Rio Tinto budget information. And that is our mine manager and our particular mine made 700 million profit last finical, in the GFC. have these companies closed any mines? due to this tax? no they havnt. I also agree with the "in theory bit" I dont trust any politian to do this right thing with the money earned from the tax. I have no doubt that any gov. lib or labour will squander it

Well if you likeRudd or not. Consider this. Do you think these multinational companies really give two hoots about this country? they are here to "rape and pillage" they are all about the most amount of profit for the least amount of outlay. I work in the industry and the disparity in this industry is pure greed. im an electrician and my manager at a coal mine is on 750k. who knows that his bosses are on! I would personally like to see a share of the profit. After all it is Australia's resources and the comunities are entitled to a fair share. Do you think the big rio and xtrata bosses are doing it hard? Lets think of what a billion is.... 100 million. now these companies profits are tens of billions. Does that put it in prospetive? I pay 38 cents in the dollar so why are they winging and moaning about paying more?? These idle threats about going over seas! Where are all the iron ore and coal? here! do you really think they are going to get ships to send coal all the way from canada to china, when australia are on there door step. hey all. I love the twin turbo idea, but just a quick question. even though it may be a stupid one. Would it be possible/viable to run a smaller turbo for down low and a larger for higher in the rev range. Not trying to take any shine away from this beast. Just curious of the possibility/benifit? Dont know too much about twin turbo set ups. Cheers

Im running 360rwkw and all good. on a bamk2 motor. 100,000km. Been over 322rwkw for 70k. 360 for about a year. So far so good.

Hey all just wondering if anyone else has had the same problem, I have broken the lug that goes from the rod of the clutch master cylinder. This lug slides over the rod coming from the pedal. What it comes down to is this is the second one I have broken in 2 years and ford want $385 for a whole new cyclinder. No one sell rebuild kits. There are no heavy duty ones and there is no aftermarket cylinders that I could find. Has anyone else had this problem. I have a heavy duty twin plate clutch in my car and its a baxr6t mk2 6spd. Any help would be appreciated

rev fest is gona be good, there is sign up forms on the rev fest website, $80 pre register and $100 closer too the event. its at cesnock air port. In oct I think. Burn outs, powerskids, show n shine and drags (not sure what distance)

Yeah just about every month or so. The norm is a cruise down to Krispy Kreams at Mingara, or we try and get to the odd car show. We Should probably get around to organising another one soon, any suggestions/dates? maybe 29th 30th Aug?
