Bf 6 Speed Manual Difficult To Find Reverse
traffic replied to traffic's topic in Driveline Workshop
Thanks mate. I've checked and it's definitely plugged in, so I guess next step is to get the multimeter out and check at the connection to the solenoid when the clutch pedal is depressed? Do you happen to know what the most likely faulty component is? -

I've taken a look, and I see a switch that has a stalk which is extends out when the clutch pedal is pushed. I followed the wires above the pedal there as far as I could see and all look fine. Where do I find the solenoid, is it near the pedal, or do I look under the car near the gearbox? -

Thanks for the info. I'll take a look as soon as I get a chance. Haha, it's definitely not the last option sorry -

I can't hear a click. Is there a switch of something that could be broken? -
Thanks for the pics and info. I took the piping off and routed it over the top of the crossmember. I don't have a 2nd 90 degree silicon bend but rather a 45 degree one. I got it plumbed up using this and it's a reasonable fit. It may be a slightly better fit if I get a 90 degree to replace it, but I'll see how it goes.

I've had the car for about 2 weeks, but I still have some problems consistently getting the car into reverse. Is this a common problem with these gearboxes, or any trick to lining it up properly and getting it in? I often end up driving slightly forward trying to find it a few times before finally getting it in. It's a bit of a hassle when trying to reverse park.

I can get a set of these injectors for free if they'll work well in my BF turbo mkii. And would I need some spacers or something? Part number is 195500-0830. From a quick search looks like they're 690cc. http://www.witchhunter.com/flowdatapix/d1955000830.jpg No idea how much they've been used etc. And just wanting to confirm that switching over to these and getting it tuned wouldn't have any negative effects on idle or economy etc. Thanks in advance.

I just called Phantom, and he said that the HP tune is only suitable for BAs, he said it causes problems with the BFs as there's extra torque tables etc.
-
Thanks heaps for this, this changes things. That money saved could get me some nice injectors... I'll make some calls.

I am about to get my manual BF with large front mount and 4" dump + exhaust tuned. I have been told that the standard injectors are good for up to 260rwkw. I have no idea how much power to expect from just these mods and a tune. I don't want to push the boost to anything that's not safe. But I also don't want the tune to be quite limited because the injectors run out of flow. Also, hoping for a positive change in economy if anything, larger injectors I assume could send it in the other direction? And not wanting to spend the $600 or so if I don't have to. I'm not planning on any future mods other than what's on it.

Thanks for the replies. It definitely sounds like the best option is getting an SCT X4 flash tuner for tuning, and there's no equally good option.
-
It seems that most (if not all?) tuners use the SCT flash tuner and software for the tunes. Has anyone had an ECU tune without this or similar, and would/wouldn't recommend? If I can get a tune and save the $700-800 on the SCT tuner that would be preferable.

I'm on the Gold Coast, so Brisbane would also be ok. Thanks, the first one told me I would need to do the waste gate flapper upgrade, but at bare minimum you would need to replace the injectors and purchase a SCT4 Flash box. The second just said I can get the SCT4 flasher and do the tune. I'm guessing the SCT4 is a definite requirement and the x3 wouldn't do? Also, is there different versions, or they're all the same. If so I guess I could get one from the US on ebay? http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/261827668894

Just got my car and it needs to be tuned. Currently just stock tune, so I just want to get the most cost effective tune for 4" dump + exhaust and fmic. No other mods. Located on the Gold Coast, so a tuner there is preferable, but can go to Brisbane if there's someone better/better value.

Bought Car With 4" Dump + Exhaust, Large Front Mount, But No Tune,
traffic replied to traffic's topic in General Tech
It's a manual bf mark ii. -
According to the seller it's a Rapid 800hp kit. Also, according to the seller, he said it hasn't been tuned. It has front mount and exhaust, nothing else. Boost cut at 4000, I'm not sure, I've only had it 2 days, and I haven't pushed it much yet. It's possible I haven't taken it much past 4k. I will check it asap though.
