  1. the more I look at them the more I think it works on that car! Great bargain!
  2. Lot of really good points to read here, got to say feel better about it already. I won't be selling my car in any case anyway. The EL will go way before the T. In response to a few earlier posts, I did look for used low mileage T's when I brought mine, but if a lot of you remember when the T's first came out, used ones, demo/low mileage etc were like finding hens teeth. And the price of what you could pay for one was high enough for me to justify buying a new one. Possibly this was not the case in the eastern states, as it was, for the colour/options I wanted I remember waiting a few months as it was. Another thing being that I have never leased a car or had to really, I may consider doing that in the next few years with a 4WD which would in my case represents better value considering I'm now paying a mortgage. When I brought my first "new" car, I paid for it outright, have probably saved on interest if I look at it that way. I have never looked at any car I've owed as an investment, although I'd like it if it was. We all wish some of the cars our Grandparent/Parents brought, (Monaros, GT Falcon etc.) were still in the family. But at the end of the day, doesn't matter who you are but sometimes you are going to think to yourself, "Gee, I wonder why I would ever do that again." I was having one of those day's.... I'm humbled by the fact I've been brought back from lunchtime dream land. On a lighter note though.......... I frikn love these cars!
  3. sure, have to agree with you! But I hate it anyway.
  4. Based on what I have read in other topics on this forum, about Ford & other companies reading entries etc. to catch so called warranty fraud, I hope this may get a breif look. I like many of you out there am a little sickened by how fast our model of car deppriciates in value. Yes sure, there are many factors which will determine this dropping value like price of fuel etc. But I believe the major manufacturers have a big say as well. After all it is the dealers/Ford? who must surely dictate what they will give you as a trade and then on sell it based on any number of given factors. I finnally, after a number of years in the workforce was in the position to be able to fork out for what is every young blokes dream.. to be able to buy a brand new car. At that stage it was nigh on impossible to get a secondhand T and the waiting list here was 6 months for a new one, the price of used ones at that stage were nearly just as high as the new price which swung me the way of brand new. Now just looking around it seems what I paid $50K for onroad new would barely scrape me much over $25K. It now only has 30K country kays (Never dirt roaded), has never, and I mean never done a burn out or been pushed hard. This car looks, smells and is as far as I'm concerened pretty much brand new. So if I do the math on this, it works out on top of Fuel and general running costs of this car that is so far costing me in excess of $1000 per 1000Km. This figure I'm sure will taper off, but FORD! the message is real clear. I WILL NEVER BUY A BRAND NEW CAR AGAIN, AND ON TOP OF THAT I'LL BE DOING MY DAMN BEST TO BUY PRIVATELY AND NOT FROM ANY DEALER! My 2 cents worth, I'm sure it will ring a chord though!
  5. I find that quite depressing really, good for you though. I brought mine new just over 2 years ago and it cost me 50K on road. And now it is worth less than half of what I paid for it. It is in absolutely immaculate condition with only 30K on the clock. I won't ever sell this car but the next car I buy will never be a new one.
  6. Not my thing, but it is'nt my car. I hope you got ones that come off without any trouble. The stripes won't do your trade value many favours. Which won't bother you really if you're like me and never going to sell my car.
  7. hmmm... Might just start with CAI & Filter first, from what I have seen on this site, very simple to. I like the sound of the CAPA Edit/tune but will wait and look into Jan 07 when warranty has ended for that one. Plus I'm in the finshing stages of getting my offroad buggy up and running so my spare dollars after morgage and beer tend to be getting poured into this at moment
  8. Thanks for advice to date. XXXR6T, I do infact live in the West but not Perth. I live in Katanning is about 2.5Hrs South East so I don't think I will be making it up this weekend. Will definately keep my eyes open for future evens though. As for local guys in this town I don't believe any of them would even have a clue where to begin with these cars. Heck, I won't even let the Local Ford dealership where I brought it from touch it! Katanning has from it know, one of the oldest "Ford" dealerships in the state and I think their service long since retired with the inital founders. Nice people, just know nothing about the product. Anyway, thanks for the responses will do a bit of digging around this site. Cheers and Beers!
  9. This has probably been asked 1 million times or more, but I'm new here. My T will be reaching the end of it's warranty at the end of this year and I would like some advice as to what is the first Mod I should be looking at doing. Please keep in mind this car is rarely, and I mean rarely driven, once a week sometimes. I don't want to spend K's and it's well being ranks up there with my wifes so I'm not interested in Killing it either. My town is full of Dunny doors and doof doof machines and I want the security of knowing that it will not be ever shamed by most of these. Any simple advice will be greatly appreciated.
