  1. I would say yes and no, go an after market bottom end if you are going to do it do it properly. I had the decision to put on more boltons and still be limited by the conrods or get a bottom end installed and see what I get with my existing boltons plus fuel pump and actuator/wgate housing mods. im looking at 400 or so rwkw safe now instead of 350 not so safe.

  7. this has been a highly debated topic . im under the impression that post may 06 have the tyohoon bottom end. there may be some bf 1s that have the weaker rods.

  15. any one heard of dyno drag racing. its a big set of projector screens with 2 dynos set up so cars can race head to head on a simulated dragstrip.
  16. I get your point but it seems ok, con said the tune was 3d so whatever boost it has adds fuel. I may be wrong but I use it as power control, it gets hard to drive with so much power. I also cant use my full tune as my clutch wont hold it, I have an option 3 going in real soon seems after 12 psi I get slippage.
  17. some of us with edit`s use a boost controller with the edit also. I cruse around on 5 psi and at the push of a button I have access to higher levels. you may find that with your econ tune in somone wants to race and u will loose, ricer boy aint going to wait 3 minutes while u reflash he will just go bragging to his mates...I chopped a xr6turbo....
  18. the way it was explained to me is the dsc only works when the brakes are on. try this,get on some grass and drive in an arc then hit the brakes, you will go sideways as the weight moves forwards giving more traction to the front wheels than the rear with the breaks on, dsc will correct the spin under brakes. once the beake is off dsc is off too. same as driving down a steep dirt hill with the brakes on it will not slide sideways.

    I have found that if an old granny is in the fast lane going slow you just boost up and do a big pssssssssh bov behind them,scares the crappa outta them and they pull over.
  20. f..k driver abuse.... if you havnt edited your car I would be spewing. driver abuse on a stock t56 dosnt do that damage, I would be ringing ford asap and a lawer too.
  21. as said it will be hard to get the ol single cam 2fiddy to get over 200rwkw but in saying that the injection system on the xf can be moddod easily by cracking the seal on the air flow meter and screwdrivering the adjuster in the middle of the afm... the computer as far as my experienxe works well with boost. we did a turbo xf ghia injected falcon in the late 90s that ran well. we just plumbed it up and adjusted the afm and it ran good, no dyno figures though. an xf fairmont ghia with an xr6turbo engine and box painted 2 tone silver grey and brown and simmons b45s polished outer gold center , dark tints and grey velour/furry esp trim. that's a classy ride right there. iv seen xf fairmont ghias going for 2k. with injection.
  22. biggest thing with the edit is that you will get hungry for more power and then more and more. it never stops
  23. not really if the bov ws leaking a little it would still make boost as normal. also if a vac line fell off it would make noise but still boost as normal depending what vac line. same as a perished rubber on the tb, will leak a bit but not enough to loose much power.
  24. if your using the stock intercooler hoseclamps they may not hold high boost. other than that the crossover at the throttle body is a nother likely spot. or mabee the vac hose has fallen off either the blow off valve or a boost guage or similar.
  25. dont quote me on this but im pretty sure its top and bottom, from spline to spline with the shafts.
