  1. Well I just took my F6 mate for a quick spin down the road and it's not just me. He also concurred that he noticed it's slightly lacking as opposed to before, so it's not in my head after all. Before I do anything I'm going to wait until the current batch of fuel is used and then fill up with a fresh tank and see how it behaves. While we were looking into each others engine bays and comparing the turbo's, I happened to notice that there is a very small gap between where the piping joins the turbocharger and there was no gap with my mates setup. Should this be flush when the clamp is done up?
  2. Well that's a relief. Just another thing I don't have to be concerned about. I remember the first thing that worried me when I initially got the car was that abrupt shunt when you would quickly let off the acceleration but then I found out that it's normal in these models.
  3. Quick question in regards to coolant. I remember the coolant being bright green before but now it looks somewhat yellowish. Normal?
  4. Oh don't get me wrong, I knew I didn't have a chance the moment I read she was from SA. I'm seeing some 18 year old at the moment anyway but the problem is she's a bit immature, parties too hard and isn't into cars like the other one, so I just don't think it's going to work out. Doesn't matter though, I still have my real girl with a nice sexy black bod and concave wheels Speaking of which, anyone here use the book of face? I have my own fan page starting, basically post updates on what I'm doing with the car. Check it out lads....and lasses! https://www.facebook.com/fan61n
  5. I just had mine serviced around the 7500km but I always keep an eye on the odo when I pick it up. The guys at that particular Ford dealer seem like genuine blokes though. Either way the car was running fine when I picked it up which was weeks ago. Mine is completely stock as far as performance mods so it wouldn't matter if they flashed it cause I don't have a tune right? Will more than likely just get a dyno done and go from there.
  6. Well let's just say I have a thing for girls that are into cars, especially turbo's lol. My ex was such a girl. Auto. Will do once this rain here in Sydney stops Was actually thinking about doing that just to see what the car is making right now and if it's performing to optimal levels. You are right about the power delivery with this model, in fact when I first got the car I didn't have a clue on what was normal and what wasn't, obviously with this being my first Falcon let alone a turbo. I never just plant my foot down, I always ease into accelerating until the boost builds up and it would always struggle for traction but the other day it wasn't as noticeable for whatever reason. Like some people are saying, it could just be in my head...
  7. Yeah..............................................................it's still........................................................................................under.......................................warr-. Sorry, I was just mesmerized there for a second
  8. Maybe lol, but I just want to know so I can confirm with my mate, is it fine to use these K&N filters?
  9. I forgot to mention, I have a K&N filter 33-2950 which was fitted less than 3 weeks ago. I was told that some of these filters come pre oiled and that oil isn't good for forced induction as it can get sucked in. Keeping this in mind, when I got the filter I had a good look at it and it did not appear to be oiled, only greased around the edges which I wiped off anyway, so I went and fitted it. After speaking to my mate, he has made me question whether or not this was a good idea as he was saying you wouldn't be able to see the oil once it's set but isn't 100% certain. Is this the case? Do these specific filters come pre oiled? If so, could this be the issue and would there be any damage done? I'm a bit worried now... I just looked this up on the website: 14. Do K&N air filters come pre-oiled or must they be oiled before using?First, determine what filtering material your air filter is built with by looking at the Product Specifications on the product details page for your air filter part number on the K&N website. Synthetic air filters do not use any filter oil at all. Most cotton air filters come from the factory pre-oiled and ready to install. Certain specialty and racing filters are manufactured as unoiled filters and will be clearly indicated as such. Check the Product Specifications on the product details page for your air filter on the K&N website to see if it requires oil.
  10. The thing is that the car was consistently performing to the same level for a good 3 months of driving. I admit that I have gotten used to the acceleration but something is ever so slightly off, which was enough for me to pick up on it. I can rule heat out as a possible factor because I went for a quick fang last night while the temperature was quite cool and again this morning. Could be any of the latter. Will look into it with my mate and see if we can find anything.
  11. Hey guys, I have a 2014 FG XR6 Turbo MKII with just over 9000km and it has been a pleasure to drive since the day of purchase. Very recently I have noticed that the car feels somewhat different in the way it drives. From my observations I believe it is slightly lacking in power. Before it would break traction when accelerating from a stop and you'd feel the boost coming on hard, but now it's almost linear in a sense and barely struggles for grip if at all. It still gets up to speed quick but the question being, is it as quick as it was? Something is telling me no and there is an issue causing it to behave differently. There is no check engine light coming on and I plugged one of those scan tools in which read no codes. Could there be a boost leak somewhere? Is there anything in particular that tends to fail with these models, even as new as the car is? Also, I'm not sure if it's just me but the turbo seems to sound louder now as it spools up. I was driving the car fairly hard over the past week but recently I wasn't pushing it whatsoever, keeping the revs low and just cruising to save on fuel and I'm always using 98 of course from BP. It's unlikely to be the ECU readjusting from the driving style? Anyway if anyone has any ideas on what the problem could be I would appreciate the feedback. Cheers, Jack.
  12. Was up at Oxford Falls yesterday. Here's one of the drops there which looks bigger in person. Anyone in the area should check this place out.
  13. Just had a quick google and as tempting as it sounds, it's too much of a trek considering I'd be doing another loop after meeting you guys and driving back to Jindabyne. I'll more than likely stick to driving to Khancoban for this trip, but should I come along for the next one I'll consider doing the entire cruise route. It's going to be interesting how much fuel I end up using in the T as opposed to my old V6 ute which got me to Thredbo on a full tank if memory serves.
  14. What's the general speed limit along Alpine Way between Thredbo and Khancoban?
  15. Hey all, I just got back from a leisurely cruise today on Putty Road. This was my first time driving along there and I must say it's a fantastic stretch of road with a bit of everything. I only went as far as Colo Heights but will most likely venture out to the end one of these days as the rest looks quite promising on google maps. The speed limit was generally good, ranging from 80 to 100 in some areas. Do many of you venture out on this road and would anyone be keen on a cruise one day? Cheers, Jack.
  16. Well the plan was to get up early and meet with everyone else however, I was originally under the impression that the cruise would start in the Snowy Mountains but you guys are all starting from Tumut and driving down towards Jindabyne? If that's the case then I'll miss out on the main cruise as I want to head back to Sydney on the same day. Unless I start driving up early in the morning and meet you guys half way. I've sent PookeyMaster a PM anyway so he can fill me in on the details.
  17. Count me in. I will be down at Thredbo doing some downhill riding and finishing up on the 28th so I can join everyone on the cruise. Where should I meet you guys on the Saturday? Cheers, Jack.
  18. Well I have it all worked out now. Thredbo mountain bike season starts on the 14th of November. The plan will be to head down there and ride my bike for a couple of days prior to the main cruise day on Saturday, then join everyone else on that day. I dare say it should work out rather well. Haven't ridden down at Thredbo since late last year.
  19. This is something I'd be interested in but I will be going to the Aus-X open Supercross at Allphones Arena on the 29th of November. I'm only keen for a day trip though so how can I go about meeting everyone on the Saturday, then head back the same day?
  20. Cheers man. I must say cruising with someone you know with a similar car makes driving a much more enjoyable experience. Looking forward to going to some event cruises and meetups soon!
  21. So my F6 mate and I went for a nice cruise on this beautiful day down to CMS to check out the place. We we're quite impressed with the workshop and the guys working on the cars there. Saw JET310 which I was told is pushing 500 at the wheels? Crazy! We are more than likely taking our cars there as everyone has recommended. A few photos on the way
  22. https://www.facebook.com/brendan.fairclough/videos/801026233340407/ Any Red Bull Rampage fans?
  23. Cheers lol. Well I am glad I kept posting as I did
  24. Haha, should of seen the size of the jumps I was doing when I first started. It's a very cool sport to get into, but having said that it's not cheap either and you have to be willing to get hurt. Doesn't take much to scare me on the bike, where as in a vehicle it takes a bit more
