Yeah it wouldn't be practical on the street, unless you're really good at anticipating the green light change. I think after I get a good set of tyres, power mods and a tune I won't be too bothered about it. Still stock but the in gear accelerations continue to impress me like "whoa"
-
Is that bad for the auto? I was under the impression you need a high stall converter like when you're at the drags.
-
I might have different expectations with it being the only turbo car I've driven so I can't compare them to the previous models or JDM cars when it comes to turbo response. It just irks me when some N/A cars can get the jump on you off the line, even if that lead is short lived.
-
Sometimes I wish the FG T was more responsive off the line or had a launch control system for the auto instead of having to spool up
-
Haha yeah I just had a look myself. Was curious to see how it would fare against a GTR and stumbled upon this video. Very even down the quarter mile, both running 11's. I would imagine the GTR would slowly keep pulling away after that though.
-
Holy sh*t, was sitting at an intersection and saw a Tesla take off at the lights. The acceleration was insane. Must of been a Model S with electric All Wheel Drive that has a claimed 0-100 in 3 seconds. Impressive

Yeah this new forum is just sh*t. Made a post in "Known Issues Fg Xr6T" which doesn't show up, so I posted again in a different thread that wasn't stickied which appeared. Received a reply, then went to post again after that reply but nothing shows up. Then I got a notification saying someone else replied to my original post, but I can't see it, so I had to go onto their profile to see what they posted.

Ah I see. I wasn't familiar with the term heat soak but I just looked it up and that makes sense then
-
Question - how much does heat affect the performance of the FG turbo (stock)? Let's say on a 40 degree day and you have been driving for a while. Does a bigger intercooler help?
-
I was just wondering, how does one check the status of the transmission fluid considering there is no dipstick?

"If the only thing keeping a person decent is the expectation of divine reward, then brother that person is a piece of sh*t; and I'd like to get as many of them out in the open as possible." "What's it say about life, hmm? You gotta get together, tell yourself stories that violate every law of the universe just to get through the god damn day. Nah. What's that say about your reality, Marty?" "Transference of fear and self-loathing to an authoritarian vessel. It's catharsis. He absorbs their dread with his narrative. Because of this, he's effective at proportion to the amount of certainty he can project. Certain linguistic anthropologists think that religion is a language virus that rewrites pathways in the brain. Dulls critical thinking." "The ontological fallacy of expecting a light at the end of the tunnel, well, that's what the preacher sells, same as a shrink. See, the preacher, he encourages your capacity for illusion. Then he tells you it's a f*cking virtue. Always a buck to be had doing that, and it's such a desperate sense of entitlement, isn't it?" https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-2XTmvDtfl8

I agree completely, but it is not limited to just that but also the notion that getting married and having children equals a happy life, something that society has lead us to believe. In Dave Mirra's case, not to mention the recent suicide/murder of that Adelaide man and his two boys, both who were married with children, for them this was not enough of an incentive to continue living which is the point I was trying to make. If that is not enough to provide a happy life, where else does one turn? How does one escape this illness when even the people they love can't help them? It's a scary thought.

Not exactly pissed off but rather disheartened after hearing that BMX icon Dave Mirra has taken his own life. Now when I hear of stories like this, it's difficult to comprehend. How does someone who seemingly has everything going for them - a successful career doing what you love, thousands of fans across the world, a loving partner with two children and an abundance of wealth, decide to end their life? I guess as humans, we all have our demons and sometimes it becomes too much. Depression is real and can take hold of anyone regardless of their status in life. No one will ever know what kind of struggle he was going through, and why exactly. This makes me wonder, is it impossible for certain people to be happy in life due to a chemical imbalance in their brain? Having suffered depression myself, I often wonder that even if I were to meet the love of my life, get my dream job, an expensive house and a nice car, would I actually be happy with all that, or rather for how long would I be happy and would the depression then find a way to bring that all apart. How is it that others are content with what they have even if it's not much, yet some of those with everything are not. It seems to be the way different individuals brains are wired. Can someone who suffers from depression truly be cured, or is it something that must be managed for the rest of their life and what happens when it gets to the point where it becomes too overwhelming? http://www.9news.com.au/world/2016/02/05/11/15/bmx-icon-dave-mirra-has-died-according-to-reports

After owning a 2014 FG mk2 XR6 turbo sedan for around 6 months, impressions are generally positive. Fairly quick stock and quicker than most cars on the street. Suspension and brakes are not adequate for spirited drives, but fine for normal every day driving. Mine is an auto though. Shifts quick. Not sure what a manual is like to drive and how boost is effected. Ute will have leaf spring rear and sedan will have IRS. I would personally get a F6 which has more power and better brakes and suspension, unless you plan to spend money upgrading all that anyway on a XR6T. For me the handling and stopping power is the only thing that's really holding the car back. They are quite responsive to modifications. All you can really do is take one for a test drive and then you will know.

Using the FGX as the cover car? Eww.

Awww

Haha nah he's married unfortunately and I'd say you're more my type
-
I'd totes give you the thumbs up for driving that. Would you give Kokentoe a thumbs up if you saw him driving down the road?
-
Where's the love. Klugers are sick. Well at least he didn't give me the finger. Then sh*t would have got real.
-
Well I posted this in an FG group And this page posted my photo
-
That was the same for me until today. I'd usually get compliments from randoms and I'd give a thumbs up to fellow FG turbo owners. I don't think this guy was an enthusiast though, it was a standard FG XR50th turbo. Could of just been in a bad mood I guess. I remember a while back I was following an Aston Martin V12 Vantage. Managed to get next to him at a set of lights and had a chat. The bloke was actually pretty cool as normally you'd think a supercar owner would be smug but this guy was laid back.
-
Bumped into my first douche xr6 turbo owner today. It was an older bloke with his family. I pulled up next to them and gave him a thumbs up and pointed at his car. His partner laughed, but he had a blank expression and gave me a sarcastic wave, if you know what I mean. Probably was jealous that mine is better, or cause his missus ain't putting out. Either way, no need to be rude you follically challenged f@ggot.
