I never said to change anything, I merely stated I wasn't keen to do the other stuff but was still willing to tag along. Considering the majority has spoken in favour of the cruise by all means go ahead with it. I'll simply sit this one out. Problem solved.

No need to cancel. @k31th is right. I have zero intent to cause drama here, merely wanted to express an opinion. Sorry if it was misinterpreted.

Not criticizing the organisation, I went once as a kid with some relatives to see 3 big rocks, walk down some stairs and sit in a vertical train at the speed of 5kmph. Didn't appeal to me. Having said that, I'm an adrenaline junkie so anything that doesn't get the blood flowing is a bore for me lol. I was simply under the impression that this would be similar in nature to the last cruise I went on in the Snowy Mountains which was a blast. This one seems more like a leisurely family outing which is fair enough given majority of the audience. I'm just a young lad so you'll have to excuse my need for speed

Keen for the cruising part but not so keen on spending additional money on other stuff. Ah well, put me down anyway.

So what's the itinerary?
-
I'll be keen to join this time. Will have new suspension and tyres soon. Saturday or Sunday works for me.
-
Can already fit 275's on the rear but will do some more research on tyres. Yeah found that out after racing my mate's FG F6 lol Want to stay on 98 and will most likely keep the stock turbo and see how much I can get out of it before going to a bigger one. Wish I had the money to get it all done right now...

Any recommendations? Been thinking Michelin Pilot Super Sports. What do you mean by 23 in the mid? MattyP/Ozywalker how much rwkw were your cars pushing at the time?

Anyone else raced one from a dig?

Not pissed off, just a bit discouraged. Ran a C63 from the lights today. Already knew I was going to lose as I'm quite familiar with what they can do and the fact that my T is still stock but I wanted to see first hand. Not sure if it was modified or stock but either way, on paper the naturally aspirated 6.2L V8 with 336kw allows it to do 0-100 in 4.4 seconds. Light went green, his initial reaction was quicker as I was paying more attention to the car than the lights, but even if I had reacted at the exact same time he would of still been faster. He easily shot in front with instant response from his engine, not wasting any traction, while I was waiting for boost to come on and when it did, as usual I was unable to get proper traction with Dunlop Sport Maxx on the rear which as everyone knows are sh*t. By this time he was already a few car lengths in front. I guess that's the plus side to a N/A V8 especially an AMG, that is you can put down power evenly off the line where as the turbo has to spool up and then puts down too much all at once. Definitely going to have to get some much better tyres in the future along with some big power upgrades to stand a chance against some of those European cars. Now don't get me wrong, if I could afford it I'd get the Merc any day!

Spent the whole weekend giving the car a much needed detail as it had quite a few swirl marks and hazing present. This was my first time but it turned out pretty good. I believe with some more practice and confidence I will get an even better result. Washed, clay bar, polished and waxed using Meguiar's products only. Used a DA polisher to get rid of the imperfections. Had to remove the stripes to do the entire area so most of you will be happy about that, in fact I agree now that it does look better plain black. Now I just need to follow up with proper wash technique every time. Video was taken after being driven around already but you can't tell. It's just a little bit shiny now.

Independent Motorsports mentioned a place called Speedy Diffs which is in Mascot. All their feedback is quite positive and it seems like they've already done quite a few T's with this upgrade.
-
Well if that's the case then it does sound like a worthwhile investment. Then it's just a matter of getting the money together.

Had a quick look and found a reputable diff shop in Sydney that has experience with fitting these. Now I'm no expert on differentials, but my understanding is that if I get this upgrade, it will only eliminate the need to replace the differential centre bush but I will still need to replace the differential pinion and blade control arm bushes separately. I might just pay the place a visit and get some more information.
