That is a bloody good idea & has been thought of about a million times. The sticking point seems to be getting our hands on a decent camera man, we did have one for a GP track cruise & I think another Melbourne cruise controller was attempting to organise something. If People know of any decent Photographers willing to lend there time & tools of the trade it would be the key to running something like this. I think we would need to run maltipul photographers to get as many cars photo's taken at the right time in lots of locations. I have thought this type of event should run it in smaller groups at the same time, that way the camera man wouldnt need time to set up / pack up & the car trains from one location to another wont take as long. We could all catch up afterwards anyway in one location. Anyway, I would be keen to start something in the "Melbourne" section. Feed back appreciated. Regards TUFXRT6

Blueboost, I looove Brisbane but..... Even though the QLD Government have truckloads of money (literally) coming in they still can't manage to get the health system / transport system working. With commodity & currency values reducing I think both WA & QLD need as much money coming in as possible Regards TUFXRT6

Hi All, Dags Im not pointing my finger at you but this whole "Recession" talk only leads to recessions. We can not certainly think that if Australia was to go into a "Recession" that it would be just Victorian focused, infact if you have a look at the numbers based on your list it probably involves more international / Australian wide reductions rather than local. I will give a quick example: -Suncorp: stated that they "may" cut jobs. Considering this is a QLD based company I think the first place jobs will be going is there. -Kenworth: they export parts as this is their manufacturing business (not only directed at Victoria but a global slow down). -Ford: Exports from the Broadie plant (Again part of a global slow down) -Boeing: These parts are produced locally & sent overseas, (this was part of Boeing's global slowdown) -Starbucks: Have cut thousands of jobs internationally as part of the "restructure" to become more profitable globally. -South Pacific Tyres: Tyres are produced overseas at cheaper margins (we can thank the AUD for helping there demise) -GM: Again part of the GM global slow down As a Victorian I believe we are going to feel some pain but compared to other parts of the world we are doing really well so we need to stay positive. As I get older my opinion is changing: -Cheap to Insure -Have to be able to drive to meetings & look respectable. -Have to be able to fit at least one inline hockey bag & stick bag (harder than you think). -Has to be reliable (dont know why I picked a Ford) -Servicing cost One lesson I have learnt since buying the XR is that I really need to check to see if the misses will drive the car (You sometimes need a designated driver, but if she doesn't want to drive manual then you have to stay sober ) Regards TUFXRT6

I realise there is another thread going on the same theme but..... I have just come back from the UK last week with.... 1) Global Gathering 2) Ministry of Sound- Anthems 1991-2008 The second cd of the Global Gathering is my favorite on Ipod at the moment and probably one of the best compilations for a loooong time (favorite song "Catch a Fall" from 4 Strings). The only reason why I bought the Ministry cd was that I was incredibly intoxicated at the Ministry club & thought "When in Rome". Again the second cd is not bad though, I seem to buy them every year & this has been the worst for a few years. Regards TUFXRT6

Personally I would play this either two ways. 1) go in at the start of the day & say you need to finish early (there is no need to elaberate) or 2) Around 2pm walk into the office & say you feel like sh!t and need to go home. There are two points I want to make about this thread. 1. Is my Super safe?? Your super is far safer in the hands of professionals. Just because the market is down 10-20% over the past 12 months doesnt mean the previous 3 years returns shouldnt be factored into the total return. Most people are not planning on drawing down on there super any time soon. Think about the asset in your garage that continues to loose value. 2. I hear RBA is going to cut rates soon?? As you have seen recently, the banks increase loan rates without the RBA actually moving. This will potentially happen the other way also. e.g. The RBA cuts by 25bps, the banks may only cut rates by 5bps. Its called decuppling. I dont want to affend anyone, just showing you a market view. I think "All Time" would have to be a song from Underworld called "Burn Slippy". For about the last 5 years a song that gets people going in lage masses is from Tiesto called "Traffic".
