We have had two cruises to Mornington way, the last cruise that way was cancelled due to poor numbers. I'm going today to check out two spots for the potential BBQ: -Beaumaris yacht Club -Mordialloc Life Saving Club I intend to factor both BBQ spots in my crusie details just incase all the BBQ's are taken at the first spot. The more I think about this cruise the greater I lean towards kicking the cruise off at 10am from Station Pier in Port melbourne to get to the desitination early enough to put a reserve on the BBQ plus get parking spots for all the cars. Even if we dont start the Barbie till 11:45 -12 we can put our stuff down & it gives time for people to take photos of the cars, etc. We will want everyone to get to Station Pier by 9:30ish to give time for photo's. I will post the proper crusie details after I check the two locations out today. Regards TUFXRT6

Personally, I think you need more details on the XR6T before making the decision. But you would say the XR would need heaps on ponies to beat the wrx just because it is bloody hard to beat 4wheel drive on the launch. Regards TUFXRT6

Are you saying we should start the cruise up the coast then head to St Kilda for lunch?? or have lunch in St kilda & head down the coast for a cruise?? I would say its going to be really hard to get a barbie @ st kilda on warm days. Though if we have lunch before going on the cruise we would be able to get a barbie more easily as I would get there earlyish to call shot gun for us. Regards TUFXRT6

Ok so it looks like we may have more traction on the beach road cruise on the 9th of Dec. Does any one know of good places to have a barbie out that way to accomidate 10-15 cars??? The sooner people let me know the sooner I can have the final details up. Regards TUFXRT6

Hi Guys & Gals, After speaking to EvilDaifu we have decided to run a Christmas cruise as there seems to be lots of new members and not many cruises for people to meet So nominated date is Sunday 9 December 2007 - departure time 11am. Start at Station Pier for a photo opportunity, head down Beaconsfield Parade which turns into St Kilda Esplanade / Beach Road to take in the great beach view. We intend to stop at either Beaumaris yacht Club or Mordialloc Life Saving Club where there are Barbies (essentially if the first spots is being used we will move to the second & pray they are not taken), this location will also be used as another photo opportunity. Free snags, bread and tomato sauce. Free cans of coke and bottles of water. Charity draw for the Salvation Army. Free FordXR6Turbo.com fridge magnet for the guys that come along (limit of one per car and limited quantity left so first come first served). Coming back people can either cruise back down to St Kilda along beach Road or make there own way home. All up about 45km for actual cruise. Meet Point Station Pier at 11:00am (Melways 2J A6) Big Map Itinerary 11:00 am 0km Waterfront Place Port Melbourne photo opp. 11:30 am 22ish km Beaconsfield PDE / St. Kilda Esplanade / Beach Road EITHER DEPENDING ON PARKING AND AVAILABILITY OF BBQs 12:00 pm Arr Beaumaris yacht Club, photo opp (Melways 86 B8) or 12:10 pm Arr Mordialloc Life Saving Club, photo opp (Melways 92 E1) 12:00 pm Start cooking to have lunch @12 (electric BBQ’s take forever) We will also draw the charity raffle during lunch. 2:00 pm 22ish km People can either head back down Beach Road / St. Kilda Esplanade / Beaconsfield PDE or make there own way home. The rules are simple: 1. Obey all laws whilst on the cruise; this means no speeding, no overtaking over double lines (no matter how safe you think it may be), etc...Any breaches will be reported to the local police. 2. There is a designated cruise leader who will lead the way and set the correct pace for all cruise members. There is also a designated cruise anchor that will stay at the back of the cruise. You must not overtake the cruise leader, or fall behind the anchor. If you have to stop or drop back for what ever reason, the anchor will stay back with you. 3. Use the Buddy system; always make sure you can see the car behind you. This will give people behind you an indication on where to turn to make sure nobody gets lost. 4. CB Radios; if you don’t have one, follow the maps, and directions given out. If you do have one, please limit chatter during the twisty parts of the cruise. This will allow the cruise leader to relay information about road conditions, upcoming obstacles, etc. efficiently. 5. By attending this cruise you agree not to hold FordXR6Turbo.com, it’s Administrators, Moderators, Cruise Organisers/Cruise Controllers, or Owner responsible/liable for any damage and/or grief sustained (simply; if you stuff up it is your fault, not ours). Inregards to the property that sold for over $6mill: Im NOT trying to defend the new owner but... they are not only building a tennis court, they intend to put a guest house on the land also. He could have bought a thousand memberships to the Royal South Yarra tennis club for the price he paid. P.S. I do not play tennis & yes I do think he should have given me the money instead. Regards TUFXRT6

Am I right in saying you saw them in Sydney?? I will look for them here in Melb, also.. what was the comapny name that was selling these tv's?? they might have a branch in Melb. Regards TUFXRT6

I think we should ask the farmers when is the best time for rain & organise cruises to accomidate. I also read from a Syndey team that they had a cruise cancelled due to rain on the weekend also!! Regards TUFXRT6

senna_T I read from one of the box's for the turbo blankets that they should be taken off after use, due to the retention of heat. When I can remember which company made the blanket I will look up the site for you. AE86's are the greatest little buggers going round, they are now really starting cost some serious cash to buy.... probably because every one has crashed them drifting. Regards TUFXRT6

The Melbourne Cruise controllers should be known as drought busters. When ever a cruise is organised it pisses down!!!! Hopefully the chrissy cruise has better luck Regards TUFXRT6 :fear (5):

Now I think about it we should have made the cruise today & gone past the ARC events. Ohhh well next year, see you there. Regards TUFXRT6

When I first left school I thought I wanted to be a chemical mixer, so for my first real job I made renders & house paints from base e.g. mix this powder with that powder add water bla bla bla. Anyway, one day on a 100ltr mixer me and another worker were making blue dye for render. The mixing arm grabbed the barrel and Boooooom. For about three weeks the back of my neck and my arms were blue. The funniest part about the whole thing was the two body marks on the wall where you could see splash. Like two bodies on a brick wall after a bomb blast. Regards TUFXRT6

I agree with EvilDaifu, if we are going to have a chrissy cruise it needs to be planned ASAP and would need to be run late November early December as people have other things on their plate after that. Also, trying to book a table at the Portsea Pub mid to late december for 15-20 people is impossible. An idea I had would be to start in St Kilda & cruise down Beach road to Beaumaris / Mentone & have a BBQ at a park on / near the beach (if any one knows of any good parks out this way please let me know). The cruise would start around 10:30ish & first snags on the Barbie @12. Regards TUFXRT6

When I bought the car in Nov 05 it had 69k's on the clock ( that was my sign to own this car ) Currently has 34000k's. Regards TUFXRT6
