  1. thanks r8eater I had seen some low prices on this forum, but was never sure whether they were in Sydney or Brisbane will keep you posted if/when I finally buy one! cheers S
  2. related to this AC issue... does the car blow hot air when the AC is not on, and when the temp setting is on coolest? My old Mazda CX7 would blow a measured 40C when the AC was not switched on, but the outside temp was around 20C, so you had to use the AC virtually all the time! I think it was a buildup of underbonnet heat because the problem would be worse when driving the car after it was parked hot for some time.. The old Magna I'm using now blows air the same temp as outside! What's the FG range like?
  3. that's a great price r8eater, esp with all those options!! please let us know where you got that as I'm planning on buying early this week Was that for a Euro 3 or Euro 4 model? cheers Satz
  4. hi all been looking at many G6ETs, in the dealer, on the web (carsales) and on the street. Some seem to look slightly lower than others. Even though they're brand new. I know some have 19 inch wheels compared to 18, but the overall diameter of the tyre is the same, yet... the gap between top of the tyre and the wheel arch seems to be different on different cars! Almost 20mm or so.. The brochure indicates that overall height of the G6ET is the same as XR6T, and they're both lower than the base model (if one could see any of those around!!) :0 could someone shed light please... thank you
  5. Harryh, does that mean u have to use recirc all the time to get decently cool air? This is worrying me, as I was nevef happy with the cc on my mazda and was hoping a local car would have good ac. :(
  6. prudent, if you turn the temp setting down, doesn't that cause the Climate control to cycle ON more frequently? cheers S
  7. I read on another forum that Ford actually modified the AC system from the latter part of 2010 build to improve cooling Hope that's not true, as I'm looking at buying an early 2010 build G6ET...
  8. I just really cannot decide between those 2 colours. Trying to see which has been more popular...
  9. hi all wondering how the FG series Airconditioning is on a hot day? I read a thread on another forum that pretty much complained about the poor performance of the FG's AC, esp compared to BFII what are your thoughts? Esp guys who live in places that get 30C+ regularly? many thanks
  10. hi all trying to decide between Seduce and Ego for the G6ET (with Cashmere interior) Was keen on the Edge colour, but that doesn't come with Cashmere interior.... Would appreciate your input cheers
  11. thanks inasnt will look at getting the double adaptor....or maybe 'hardwiring' my Navman behind the dash where it connects to the 12v outlet?
  12. Hoping the fmic on falcons doesnt heatsoak as much as the tmic on wrx or mazdas?
  13. hi all just wondering how many 12v sockets there are in the cabin of the G6E / or XR6T? Is there just the one with the "12 V Power" label, or is there another less obvious one? It'd be good to be able to leave a Navman plugged in permanently, and still have another socket for charging a mobile I always forget to check when I go to a dealer for a look (get too distracted by all the other things on the car!) thanks S
  14. I thought the FG Turbos would run fine on 95 or 98? (or even 91) or is yours tuned for 98? cheers
  15. hi tony I didn't realise you could get an FPV cluster fitted. I guess that could be done to a stock XR6T as well? The main reason I haven't considered an Xr6 (even with luxury pack) is the blue circles around the dials ! anyway...had a second test drive of a G6ET (in fact, the same car I drove 2 weeks ago). Happy with the comfort, but the wind noise seemed higher than I last remembered... starting to lean towards the Seduce colour...though it can look a little pink at times, but it does stand out!
  16. hi does the FG turbo engine (whether G6ET or XR6T) lose power noticeably when it's hot? Does this occur mainly because of underbonnet heat buildup when parked hot, or is it mainly because of the outside temp? I know this is a problem with all turbo cars, to varying degrees, depending on location of intercooler, and also the engine zine, cooling effectiveness and the venting of underbonnet heat (esp when parked) My Mazda CX7 was bad in this regard, whilst my VW Golf GTI wasn't too bad in the sense that it 'regained' lost power pretty quickly once the car was driving.
  17. hi tony have you sorted out the 'wandering' problem? Was it just wheel alignment or something more sinister? And when you say it feels down on power when hot, does the power seem to come back as the car loses its underbonnet heat build up, or is the power loss pretty much permanent on hot days? I'm very keen on the G6ET, also in Seduce, or possibly Ego/Edge, but reading about things like this worry me

    G6E Turbo With 19'S

thanks xr09 and others beginning to have second thoughts about getting 19inch wheels instead of 18s. Rang around for tyre costs and I didn't realise how much the Dunlop Maxxes were! upward of $480 ea! and the 19inch ones were $550 or something!! More than that, the increased road noise would worry me. Shame...as the 19inch wheels look great :(

    G6E Turbo With 19'S

Hi all So what is the final verdict on 19 inch wheels on the g6? Does the steering wheel shake on some surfaces? Is there more road noise than on the 18 inch wheels? Is it cheaper to get aftermarket or Ford wheels? Thanks S
  20. Hi all could you URGENTLY please let me know the very lowest drive-away prices you've paid for a new/demo G6E Turbo? And also whether you got 19inch wheels, tinting, etc? If in NSW, could you please include name of dealer. Looks like I'll be heading toward purchase within a week! Colour? Can't decide between Ego/ Edge or Seduce (wish it was slightly less pinkish) or maybe Steel Blue!! many thanks Satz
  21. that's wonderful! many thanks for the prompt replies and photo. So it seems to be exactly the same as the non-50th, in terms of colour? It does look very similar to my 08 Golf GTI's lighting I think the G6ET has all-white lighting, which is also nice, but it's hard to check these things out at dealers
  22. hi all could some lucky owner please tell me what colour the instrument and dashboard lighting is on the 50th Anniv XR6T? Is it blue like the normal one, or white like the G6ET??? or...perhaps red? thanks n cheers
  23. Is there more sound deadening in the G6E doors compared to XR6T? I noticed that the G6E doors close with a more solid thunk! Wonder whether it's some internal deadening, or a difference in door seals? Anyone know? cheers S

    G6Et Or Xr6T Auto?

Hi all Could you please let me know: A. What colour the dash lighting is on the xr6t 50th? Is it blue? B. Why the doors on the g6et close with a nice thump compared to xr6? Cheers quote name='hrick' date='26 October 2010 - 11:16 AM' timestamp='1288055800' post='1050547'] go to a dealership and ask for a test drive, it`d be interesting to see how you compare them. Didn`t you borrow the XRT from Ford...they didn`t have any G6ET`s? They do sell like hot cakes at a primary school fate, very popular car, lots of XRT`s in stock but no G6ET`s.
  25. but it also means the car bucks a bit when coasting to a stop for lights, etc.... Should it be different between an FG XR6T and G6ET? btw, aside from that I was pretty happy with the way the G6ET drove. Slightly quieter but handling was pretty close to the XR6T that I had the weekend before. Didn't drive it as hard as the salesman was there The doors definetely close with a more solid thunk. Is that due to extra padding inside the door panels? Can that be fitted to XR6s? S
