Hi this is my first post so I'm not quite sure of the process - any way I picked up my bran new FG X XR6 Turbo in silver with a manual box about 10 days ago and I have done only about 600 KM to date. Really enjoying the vehicle so far and I'm pleased I decided to go for a manual having not had a manual car for approximately 25 years it was a big decision (although I have had many motor bikes during this time of course all with a manual box). My last Falcon was way back in the early 1980s a XE, since then I have had 8 Holden's many of them I purchased new and all good vehicles except for 2005 Adventura which I kept for only 11 months as it gave me that many problems. Prior to purchasing the Falcon I narrowed the field down to the following list VF SS beautiful car, Chrysler 300s to boxy and warranty issues, Subaru WRX to small and Jeep Grand Cherokee a little cumbersome and not quite me. It was a very close call between the XR6 Turbo & the SS and it came down to a number of factors which included I have always wanted a turbo Falcon as there not as common, I was able get a great price through the Fords family benefits program saving at least $8000 to $10,000 Grand on what I would have paid for the SS. The car will be used as a every day drive including business use, I expect to do approximately 20,000 km per year as I also have another car. Haven't had much of chance to give it a good hit out as yet, as I said earlier I'm vey please with the way the car drives and Sync 2 navigation and voice control and of course the look of car, handling and power it produces when given a bit of throttle. Really disappointed to see the demise of the big rear wheel drive family cars such as the falcon and Late model camira as represent great quality and value for money.
