  1. I did the same on note 3,which ultimately pushed me towards my current 6P. For some reason even things like BT connectivity in cars seems way more reliable with CM or stock android. Except when you both leave in the morning but take different cars to the day before and the phone/car combos are around the wrong way...
  2. Wow that's tiny. Cancels server subscription and hosts entire site on phone.
  3. I agree great thread! Planning to check manifold bolts this weekend so I know this is here if I need it. Have a tow bar ready to fit sometime soon and can't find much info on it - you've inspired me to take pics and post details for others. Out of interest, did the door handles change from BA to BF? I swapped my handles for chrome ones and I think on the BA it was just undoing a screw, popping out the handle and disengaging from the latch remote. Glad I didn't have to do what you had to!
  4. Having bought a 2004 with 135k on it this time last year, my approach was: Get someone reputable to check it over for you. I reckon it's worth it as one major repair can cost a lot more than an inspection. Get them to check turbo condition and diff bush condition as both can be expensive. Buy unmodified if you can. Not everyone would agree with this but I think you minimise the chance of it having had a thrashing. Look for regular oil changes with good quality oil. Important in these cars. This advice is all pretty general - others with more knowledge might chime in with some specifics.
  5. Haha yep! It's not me.... ☺️
  6. I just went nexus 6p after four samsungs in a row. Loved the size of my previous notes, but never used the stylus much and like the stock android feel along with the quick updates. All the samsungs were great phones. 6p fingerprint reader is crazy good.
  7. I'd pop the switches out and check for power at the electrical connector. If power is there, good chance your switch or motor is stuffed. If no power then they are likely ok and need to trace back the fault in the circuit from there.
  8. EBay description for an ICC: BOUGHT THIS UNIT BY MISTAKE HAD A FEW DRINKS AND DID NOT RELIZE IT WAS NOT THE XR MODEL SELLER SAID IT WORKS BUT I CANT GUARANTEE THAT PICK UP FROM CAMDEN NSW 2570
  9. My EL maintains temp just fine when I'm taking a phone call. Wait, did I miss the main point?
  10. Yeah first few episodes of each season of 100 are a bit crap, but pretty gripping after that. Particularly season 2 - gets way more interesting than a bunch of juvenile delinquents running around getting killed. I'll check out a few of those suggestions!
  11. I've been thrashing that one the past few weeks. Now I'm out of 100 and narcos episodes and the long wait starts...
  12. Good news that you know what it is! Is it the arm itself, or the bushes? When my upside-down-diff-bush issue was found the inner upper control bushes were initially identified as worn and the possible cause. I had quotes ranging from $200 to $900 for replacement. Kmart were the lower one. They insisted they didn't need to drop the cradle and their quote was based on the estimated effort for that car (BA) for that job stored in their database. Another place was were $900 and insisted they needed to drop the cradle. They were a large chain too. Specialist suspension place quoted about $400. So I booked it in to kmart and they then found the diff bush issue and fixed it for $100. Upper control arm job will need doing in the next year or too, but not urgent for now. Short answer is I don't know! Can't understand how the quotes can be so different, and different views on how it needs to be done. It's not like it's an obscure car.
  13. Just downloaded an album from Google Play that allowed fu ck but bleeped out di ck. Someone has some very specific standards.
  14. Colleagues complaining about 4 degree Canberra mornings and it's only April - clearly they're not driving turbo cars.
  15. Probably a long shot - but what diff bush did you get? had a big knock in my BA occurring in the rear that gradually got worse until it sound like the diff was going to drop out the back. Turns out the new nolathane type has to be put in a certain way, and mine was done upside down. A couple of places looked at it and count find the issue (including one who wanted to book it in for a diff rebuild). Was bad an moving off at slow speed or sudden lift off. Some of your symptoms don't line up exactly with mine, but thought it was worth mentioning.
  16. Could be lots of things - and sometimes when you fix something it just reveals the next most urgent problem to fix! If you don't have a obd2 adaptor for your phone or something, I'd start by swinging past a mechanic and asking them to scan the ECU for fault codes. Do you get other symptoms such as a check engine light?
  17. I remember a mate at school parking his mum's camira half way up a tree one night. When she was yelling at him afterwards, he said "I reckon I improved it". Didn't go down well.
  18. Exactly what wilko16 said - if you drive it reasonably gently to the tuner, you'll be well within factory safety levels.
  19. My folks stayed recently and wanted instant - had to go and buy it because we don't even keep it in the house. In hindsight I should have just grabbed an empty jar and stopped up some dirt from out the back. Pretty sure it's the same stuff.
  20. Not much progress with this one. New TPS but issue has returned a couple of times since. Seems to be that it starts ok in park, but when I put it into drive it chucks a CEL and codes, and stumbles and shakes all over the place. Happens about once a week, and is fine again once I switch off the ignition and restart. Also put in a new PCV (no change) and unhooked. I noticed when I start it, it has been revving to about 2k for a couple of seconds, then settling down. Has always done that of course but used to be more around the 1600 mark. *unhooked battery for half a day
  21. Good stuff! I would have thought upper inner and lower inner control arm bushes would be the key ones, but someone with more expertise might be able to confirm that.
  22. It's hard because the shape doesn't lend itself well to a torpedo
  23. Haha yeah got talked into it by the rest of the family!
