  1. I think we've all done this at one time or another... Haven't we? http://mobile.abc.net.au/news/2016-08-27/norway-man-rescued-from-inside-drop-toilet-after-losing-phone/7790980
  2. I'm using one of the Saas ones and got off eBay for about $90 delivered. Has been in for 12 months and behaving itself so far.
  3. Problem is the resistance of the sender has to match the gauge. Having said that, sometimes they still work and you are probably more interested in the gauge reading relative to where it normally sits rather than the absolute value of the reading. So if the wrong sender gave you a high reading for example, that doesnt really matter once you learn where the gauge normally sits and therefore notice when it deviates from this.
  4. None of this is making me feel any more comfortable with what the previous owner had installed...
  5. Does anyone know what this is? Light switch obviously, but looks like an IR receiver or something in the middle?
  6. Is the hdmi cable definitely plugged in properly at the rear of the PlayStation?
  7. Don't know specifically re FG, but my BA turbo won't rev above 3k in neutral or park. Is normal, presumably so you don't dump it in gear and hurt the tans

  9. Been enjoying the hockey though - similar concept to soccer but the ball moves around a lot quicker. Used to play at school and uni and mean to get back into it, but the startup costs and match fees are ridiculous.
  10. Haha I know. Just saying that watching soccer is frickin boring [emoji3]
  11. Turned the Olympics on to watch some sport, but they were only showing soccer
  12. Gold for Kazakhstan. Very niiice! In breaststroke no less
  13. Stay off the loud pedal! Just treat it gently until the issue is resolved. It's not going to overboost on light throttle.
  14. I got confused and did it last Tuesday. Do I get $180 per day for being early?
  15. Cat is keen on relaxing Also keen on F1
  16. 53. XR... Wait what does that mean?
  17. Buying second hand cars is not insignificant either - if second-hand demand is strong, resale is better for that model, making it more attractive for those who are new car buyers. I remember the last few years of Magna/380 - selling new for sub-$30k and 12 months later were worth about 6 bucks.
  18. It's a good point. I get annoyed with friends bagging the government for not protecting the manufacturers more and then showing me their new Mazda or Subaru. At the end of the day a) we haven't collectively bought enough cars from them and b) they haven't built (or been allowed by parent companies to build) what we collectively want.
  19. Haha my car felt better with 9 degree intake temps on the way to work this week. - 2 makes intercooler work good.
  20. Thanks for that. Main issue is cycling glasses are designed a certain way to help peripheral vision and the fact that you are looking up more than usual (head is forward). You can get cycling glasses with interchangeable lenses for night and glare for about $40 and then it doesn't matter if they break in your bag etc! That's the main problem - need one set of prescription lenses in daylight on the way to work, another set for riding home in the dark.
  21. I'm going to look into contacts for the bike cos prescription cycling glasses are mega expensive and I just broke mine. Interestingly my eyes haven't changed in ten years. Ootometrist said there was a phenomenon where males in their mid 20s in Western cultures experience a sudden deterioration in eyesight, but it then remains steady. Doesn't affect females or other cultures and is obviously different to age related deterioration or needing glasses from a young age. Would make me a good candidate for laser I reckon if I didn't need a new bathroom, laundry and deck!
  22. Yeah it sucks choosing frames! Especially when you are a big bald ugly bastard like me and at some point in the process realise that rolling yourself in sprinkles doesn't make you ice cream! Not sure on lens differences but choice/brands of frames seems to be main differentiator. I would buy sunglasses online, but everyday glasses I reckon you need to try them on. You (and medicare) pay for the eye test, so any place should just write it up and hand it over if you ask.
  23. Just go to specsavers - maybe frames are slightly lower quality in the long run (ie my frames seem to get a bit tired after a few years in terms of plastic deterioration compared to expensive frames). But you get plenty of good choices and save HUNDREDS. Lenses seem good quality and after sales service is good. You'll probably get two pairs for not much out of pocket. And anyway, there's a good chance you will lose, step on or otherwise damage them after a couple of years or want new ones anyway, so longevity isn't too important. Don't get the self-tinting ones because you look creepy. Anti-reflective coating is worth the 50 bucks or so.
  24. Haha I ordered bike wheels from the UK at 9pm on a Thursday and received them midday the next Tuesday. But it takes 2 weeks to send a birthday card to Adelaide from Canberra. Toll have been the worst for me lately too. Dealing with them after a missed delivery is appalling. Ends up being easiest to collect from their depot, which misses half the point of buying it online in the first place. Speed of mail delivery aside, I love it when places send Australia post. If you aren't home, it's just a quick trip to the local post office, which at our local shop is open late.
