  1. Thanks guys - yeah it's amazing! Amazing how much better the space is too by replacing a standard door with a cavity slider. Mixer tap in the shower is sweet too - just flick it on where you left it without having to readjust temp. Means the kids can easily turn on and off too. Put a GPO in the vanity so all of the hair dryers and straighteners are out of the way. For the wife of course - my bald scone doesn't need any of that!
  2. Got back from Adelaide to find this!
  3. However a hole in the block may affect how a car drives! Those symptoms could be a ton of things so I wouldn't open up the motor just yet. Just to ask the obvious question - did you use good quality coils? Mine was missing and backfiring under load above about 3000 just after I bought it. Mechanic chucked in cheapie coils and made no difference. I chucked in decent ones and problem fixed.
  4. I'm confused. How will a timeshare in Nigeria help the surging issues?
  5. I bought Anker ones off Amazon or Ebay. Three for about $25. With micro USB I used to buy $1 cables, but with USB C I was a bit more concerned about the higher current when fast charging. Qualcomm quickcharge compliant wall chargers - now there's a rip off!
  6. Yep! Whoops bought another new phone during the break. LG V20 is only two months old! Then JB had a deal on Pixel 2 with bonus $100 gift card and Google Home Mini for $10 more per month than my SIM only plan. Given I can sell either phone, made financial sense to sign up! The V20 is great, but the Pixel is too. Kind of screen size vs latest Android updates and superfast hardware debate going on in my head now. Gonna try the Pixel for a few weeks and see how I cope with the smaller size.
  7. Happy new year everyone! Back at work today. Good news is it's the first time I've taken the turbo out in two weeks. Plenty of manual mode this morning.
  8. +1 for the stronger flavours I always use 10 Ristretto or 12 Kazaar. Nespresso is the only automatic machine coffee that I've found gives me an actual coffee hit and takes care of the cravings. While it is obviously not a cafe spec standard, I reckon it gets a heck of a lot closer than some pretty pricey home stuff. I just bought an Aeropress - the coffee tastes amazing from that but too much mucking around for weekday mornings.
  9. Forgot about that one! Not having much luck with travel arrangements lately. Now I'm thinking how much better Psycho would be with Hotel California as the theme music
  10. I drove through Wudinna once on the way to Ceduna. That is seriously in the middle of nowhere! Albury is big and on the main Syd-Mel route so no excuses.
  11. Lol yeah good plan! After the top Airbnb that mummy booked in Adelaide, the kids have unanimously agreed that daddy shouldn't book accommodation in future. Suits me! My secret plan worked...
  12. On the way back from Adelaide and staying at Albury. 850km with the kids today was not a bad effort. Booked into what turned out to be a pretty average motel. No towels, bathroom light didn't work, shower leaks water out into bathroom and main room. Two of three were easily fixed, and the price was good. Had a laugh coming back from dinner when I unthinkingly typed 'Bates Motel' into Google Maps. Had a bigger laugh when I went to go to bed and the beds have been made up with the blanket UNDER the sheet:
  13. Yeah blowers are the business. I got a petrol Homelite one from Bunnings for under a hundred bucks. Cleans up the paths in a couple of minutes and even takes the leaves off the gravel. Stuff sweeping.
  14. Haha that sounds like a good party to me these days! Kids are good sleepers, but they get up mega early on holidays.
  15. Merry Christmas everyone! Have a great day wherever you are and whoever you are with! Beat this kids:
  16. Thanks! Yeah I reckon the rescued one will be joining its friend before the day is out. Only a matter of time before they get excited and the throws get wild again!
  17. Been at holiday place in Adelaide for less than 24 hours and kids have already thrown both balls from the Gripball over the fence. Neighbours are out and have a German Shepherd, so might not go and get it. 6 year old had the idea to Velcro the Gripball thing to a broom handle and reach over the fence to pick up the ball. I climb up the fence and reach over. Ball number 1 secured, reaching over for ball number 2. Dog casually walk around the corner, picks up the ball and walks off. Plan foiled! At least we got one back.
  18. Yep - the poor sap being the 90 year old lady next door
  19. Yeah sparky would have been my pick. S bend installers are also S bend unblockers... Had a new HWS put in the other day. Called me 45 mins after they were due. "We are here waiting for you. We'll make a start ripping out the old one." "Um, but I'm home and you aren't here..." "Aren't you number 2?" "Nup." "Oh..."
  20. Haha - yep pretty much that, except without the protective gear. Did put safety glasses on, and was glad I did when a wad of paper caused a massive splashback. Sometimes I think being avtradie would have been good, but definitely not a plumber!! Cheers Roger
  21. Getting there! Tiler thought there weren't enough tiles and went home, but had miscounted. Builder came around and confirmed there were enough. Had mixed up floor and wall tiles. Toilet is in which makes life easier! Emptied and cleaned the chemical toilet - think I've earned a beer tonight...
  22. Oh I thought you meant the shower tent!
  23. Haha that's the shower. Yeah I'll do that with the marble to make sure it is all good. Took your advice re the shower too - got hand shower plus rain shower. Found a swivelling arm for the rain shower too so the missus can push it across to one side if she wants. Actual toilet:
  24. Yep! Asbestos walls with tiles and towel rails falling off isn't the ideal bathroom experience. Screeding done on the bathroom floor today to get all the falls right for drainage. Current bathroom is actually pretty nice:
