  1. Yep often hard to look around a place when you are working! Did a run along the Yarra early this morning which was nice.
  2. Just work - doing the rounds this week. Up to Sydney tomorrow arvo then home Thursday night. Caught up with a mate last night at Meat & Wine Co which was top notch as usual!
  3. I'll check that out. Compressor probably hasn't kicked in for about 9 months here so maybe I'm mistaken.
  4. Good tip. Also makes it less socially unacceptable when the car pisses itself all over a car park. I find my fans almost never turn on unless it's 35 degrees and heavy traffic. Neither of those happen often, especially concurrently, in Canberra. Edit: really tempted on the Aepro fascia. Means you can throw in any old double DIN as the mood takes you, which to me.seema a better bet than the Kayhan
  5. You definitely point the finger at yourself though when a few days beforehand you replaced the radiator and all the hoses!
  6. I did wonder that too and ordered that as well. I can't blow through the cap though. Seemed to be too much escaping out the bottom for the size of the escape hole. But the cost of a tank is about the same as an uber to work and back for one day if it holds me up so went for both. Edit: for science I'll try changing the cap on its own but keep the new bottle and tools in the car just in case. Travelling for work next week so have a bit of time for everything to arrive in the post. Pulling up in the carpark in a cloud of steam (as it all drops onto the turbo heat shield) and leaving coolant on the floor is getting old
  7. Car keeps dumping coolant a couple of minutes after being turned off. There were drops on the heater hoses, so I've been constantly checking and replacing clamps trying to solve it. Is tricky because hot coolant evaporates so quickly it can be hard to trace the leak. Finally caught it yesterday - coolant was flooding out the base of the header tank until the tank was almost empty. Some of it was spraying at the heater hoses [emoji23] Once the tank empties itself and cools, you can fill it again and doesn't leak at all. So I'm guessing it has a hairline crack in the tank which was an eBay cheapie. Order a genuine replacement so hopefully that does the job. Coolant isn't boiling and temps are perfect so I don't think it is anything else in the cooling system.
  8. I know - there is a 100% guaranteed fix and I'm not taking it
  9. So new crank seal and balancer is in. Plus swapped out the rad and hoses as the rad was looking pretty average. Still leaks oil from the front [emoji23] So I reckon you are right Puff - timing cover seal. Still, it was worth attempting a fix without pulling the cover off. I cleaned everything down on the cover behind the balancer so once it is off again I should be able to confirm the source. The good news is that since sorting the rocker cover seal and cleaning everything down a few weeks back, the area around the head gasket has remained bone dry.
  10. I could add the factory clamp, but it is nice and snug and will just be annoying when I remove the coil cover. Next time the rocker cover is off I might buzz it back and install the fittings.
  11. Went to fit that Raceworks push in breather adaptor but wouldn't fit - presumably due to my double powder coating. So I just pushed the hose into the port on the cover and wondered why I didn't just do that the first time...
  12. $45 Amazon bearing separator kit FTW Attempt 1 must have at least got it moving as it pulled off real quick just using a ratchet spanner
  13. Thanks gents. Actually I read about wrapping a chain around the broken bits and hooking the puller into that, so might give that a go before I start cutting the jaws. If I do end up cutting the pulley and it falls in the sump, we will both have clunks going over speed jumps but for different reasons. Nice work on the Integra
  14. If it's any consolation - a couple of turns on the puller and my balancer came apart. Removed the radiator and tried to get a 3 jaw puller onto the remnants of the arms but no luck. I might have to grind down my puller a bit so I can get onto the ridge at the back. Also meant I had to pull the radiator which was harder than I expected. It looks average so I think I'll order a new one rather than doing the job twice. Was a fair bit of oil when I removed the crank bolt and timing cover seals look ok so hopefully just the crank seal causing my leak. Edit: haha should say the bolt wasn't on there when I tried to remove it! Need something for the three jaw to hit so removed the washer and put the bolt back
  15. Should have clarified that by "only" I was excluding I CBF'ed options like removing the starter and locking the flex plate
  16. For a ZF - is a breaker against the ground and hit the key briefly the only way to get the balancer bolt undone?
  17. Haha yeah of course - I temporarily forgot it is running when you fill!
  18. TI Performance posted nice and quick so my fittings are on the way. Australia Post however says my parcel has left Melbourne and is on its way to WA. Not the most direct route to Canberra. So my wait continues [emoji23]
  19. Interesting - I might do the same. Been thinking about it since this method was mentioned around here a couple of weeks back. A lot less mucking around than the specific temp method! I did wonder too whether part of my cooler is probably above the fill hole and so takes some of the oil capacity once it's pumping. So doing it cold before the oil expands would squeeze a bit more oil in.
  20. Wow! What's the plan - just for your own wheels? You could probably run a decent operation for locals wanting servicing but don't want to go into town.
  21. Asked for a refund from Sparesbox and to their credit they processed it within an hour and a half. So no complaints from that perspective. Have ordered from TI Performance who are always superfast (not sure why I didn't do that the first time as I really like them - probably because I was laying under the car trying to undo inlet manifold bolts with a shattered finger)
  22. By contrast the front crank seal, balancer, balancer tool and PCV valve I ordered on the weekend from other suppliers have all arrived. More ammo for the parts cannon.
