  1. Lucky he wasn't living there when I was wrecking the BA and 'accidentally' opened the AC system.
  2. Mate's car leaked a bit of coolant in the street last night. Left a small stain so I went and flushed it with the watering can to do the right thing. Nek minutes new neighbour turns up telling me I've spilt oil in the street and he is going to report me to the EPA cos it's illegal. I try to tell him it was 100mL of coolant and I flushed it with water literally 5 mins ago. Can't help a car pissing itself in the street. He goes and looks again and says he thinks it's water based. Yeah I know.
  3. I don't understand why everyone is jumping down Damo's throat? The guy is clearly going through some stuff in relation to work, has possibly seen some traumatic stuff and is pi$$ed off about his situation? Isn't that the point of the thread? Everyone else whinges about their work on here and is (very sensibly) cagey on the details. Whether it is a current employer, future employer, workers comp provider, whatever - of course you need to be careful about what you write down publicly. Hardly tin foil hat stuff. Geez, can't we just hope it works out for him, have a scotch on his behalf and get on with it without heaping more on him?
  4. But starting wage is $6 an hour...
  5. Pics as promised of leather handbrake tutorial and shifter boots. Replacement for incorrect handbrake boot arrived yesterday.
  6. Car is going pretty flamin rich sometimes, so I want to know if either a) the tune is genuinely commanding that or b) something is amiss either with the wideband sensor or the fuel system. Car is tuned but I haven't touched it myself yet. Stock injectors and LTFT hovers around 5% so suspicious of something in the fuel system. Want to understand before I chuck in injectors and pump, but then again the injectors might fix it. Need to chuck the fuel pressure gauge on it too.
  7. Yep will do! Actually commanded AFR will be nice to see too.
  8. Ended up pulling the trigger on the Ultra Gauge. Turns out there is a version that allows you to enter programming for manufacturer PIDs. Should be able to add current gear and trans temp to the display, plus supports standard stuff like ignition advance, IAT, etc. https://ultra-gauge.com/ZC/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=1&products_id=57 Trade off is it doesn't have the performance measuring features of the normal version (0-100 etc) but big deal.
  9. I call BS. Everyone knows Maccas employees have to retire when they turn 18.
  10. I agree - their clay bar is good too, as is the microfibre interior glass thing.
  11. Bought one of these the other week: http://www.bowdensown.com.au/the-big-green-sucker Max recommend. Dries the car in seconds and better than any chamois I've ever used. No wringing or rinsing during the job. Finding I'm washing the car more often cos easier.
  12. Reading this while standing in the coffee line. Had a busy morning and suddenly realised what the hell I've only had one so far.
  13. Same here. Twice! Don't even need a dyno run to confirm - if they can hook up to your ECU they can tell very easily. I checked mine with PCMTec by comparing the file with a stock file and discovering there were differences.
  14. The factory XR6 cooler on a B series has an FPV label, so still may be stock unless it is actually an F6 cooler.
  15. Yeah I've got that - I want something permanently there with some extra data. Current gear would be cool too, but not there.
  16. Anyone used one of these? Looks pretty sweet and could sit in front of the cluster. https://shop.carthrottle.com/products/ultragauge-em-plus-obd-ii-code-scan-tool-multi-gauge Can't manually add PIDs though which sucks.
  17. If you think the spade looks bad, you should see the guy whose head it broke across
  18. Made up a Texas marinade for a slab of pork ribs and some pork belly on Wednesday night. Has been soaking since then for a run in the Weber tonight. Pics later...
  19. Yeah I might. That's a huge job. There's some jobs where I'd happily tackle it on my own car, but is extra stress on someone else's if it takes longer time, something breaks in the process, etc. Plus probably needs the carpet out and everything dried properly.
  20. Using a friend's Focus at the moment to sort a couple of issues for him. Has a coolant leak which I was hoping would be straight forward. Discovered last night the insulation under the ICC is wet so looks like a heater core. Plus it is dripping coolant under the car just in front of the rear wheels! Must be running under the carpet and out a drain hole.
  21. Haha yeah it's weird - sometimes you get to the counter and it seems ridiculous cheap, other times not so much. What car is the 6R80 in? I just assumed you had a 6HP26 in both the BF and the Terry.
  22. Both! Have an 85 degree thermo switch plumbed near the transmission outlet with an LED inside the cabin, plus a manual override switch on the side of the steering column so I can force the fan on if I want. Both switches wired in parallel to the relay so either one can trigger the fan.
  23. That's a shame. Oh well, fancy drinking bowl for the dog!
  24. I'm not sure that's correct in this case as it is impossible to mount that way and comply with the airflow marking on the fan. From the instructions: "All fans are assembled to be mounted upstream (in front of radiator/condenser)." There are instructions to modify if downstream is necessary due to insufficient space.
